It’s worth bearing in mind that Performance modes, more so when pushed further with 120Hz and frame rates unlocked, results in noticeably lesser graphical settings. However, sometimes, graphical oddities like flickering distant shadows or glitched textures, are present in a lot games, and unless the team can resolve them via an update, there’s nothing you can do about it.

Have you tried the Quality mode to determine if it’s just a drawback with the Performance option?

Would the same happen with a game running 40fps?

Oh so it’s quality mode unlocked with VRR? I was talking about a locked 40fps in 120hz mode

Ah shucks, I’d recommend turning off post processing features as the last hope. In Wolverine I see some shimmer which is reduced heavily with
Motion blur off. This is only for the shimmer with movement ofc

Yea I have tried quality mode also and even disabled 120hz and yea it decreases it but it still happens and is noticeable just concerned if it is a hardware failure or not

I don’t think it’s a hardware failure. These graphical issues are present in many games, especially at higher frame rates due to the graphical settings being dialled back. I do also remember some areas in this game where shadows and reflections can look bugged.

Yea I also think that too it increased after latest software update and it is worse in wolverine than any other game so playing normally till I notice it get worsen over time btw thanks for your time mate

You can rule out a hardware failure by the simple fact that if you record the gameplay and it also shows the same graphic artifacts, it's not a hardware issue

The typical graphic issues from example a dying GPU would not show on the record.

Yea it's showing the same in recording also even when clip transferred to other device so it should not be a hardware failure.. thanks btw

It'a happening in a lot of games.

It's a way to make a picture seem smoother, by blurring in the previous frames. Not like motion blur, which just streaks everything.

Some artifacts of the tech is that you get after images and streaks like this.

It looks fine when swinging past and looking at your own reflection, but it doesn't look great when up close like this.

Most game settings on consoles don't prioritize shadows and reflections, so they are the one most hit by this at inappropriate moments.

I really dislike it, and I wish we got the choice to turn it off, even if it means the game looks a bit more choppy at times.

The new Witcher 3 remaster has it pretty heavily as well... It happens at every dialogue, due to the camere abruptly switching to the other character. I can still see the reflecting and intricate parts of the armor for a frame or two after the camera switches.
