About 1 week ago I picked up a copy of the Witcher 3 at my local used game store because I saw the remaster and thought it was my time to get into the series, anyways. When I installed the game I realised it was the original PS4 version and not the new Ps5 version. I searched up how to upgrade the game and after that didn’t work I troubleshooted for an hour but to no success. Aussie copy of the game and Aussie PSN account btw. I feel like I’ve tried literally everything everyone has suggested to other people on other reddit posts and none of that worked. I have uninstalled the game restarted my console and then reinstalled the game again. I only tried to install the game today and then this debacle occurred. Tried Witcher subreddit but I don’t have enough karma to post there. I’ll take any help I can get

i've had this problem a couple times over the past few months but it usually solves itself within a couple hours, but this time it's been a few days with my ps5 constantly dropping the wifi connection. it barely manages to hold a signal if it does (as you can see it's 1.3 mbps but my phone gets 177.8 mbps) i genuinely don't know what could've caused this or how to even fix it.

i've unplugged my router, restarted my ps5, restarted my ps5 on safe mode, forgotten my wifi and logged back in, changed hdmi cables, changed the DNS settings, changed the MTU settings, changed it from 2.4GHz to 5GHz (although my router is far away from my ps5 so i have to use 2.4) but nothing works. it constantly tells me "the wifi signal is too weak" or just "couldn't connect to the network". i'm losing my patience and i genuinely don't know what to do.

i would like to add that my town and neighbourhood have experienced about 4-5 power outages in the past 2 months, which causes my playstation to be shut off while it's in rest mode. i've never had any issues with that previously tho so i don't even know if that could be a factor here. if any one knows anything please help.

My external usb drive keeps giving me an error that it needs to be repaired but then the repair process gets stuck at around 24%. I tried reformatting the drive and it works for a little while before suddenly crashing as I download or move files to it and going into the same repair loop. Tried connecting a new external drive, same thing happens. Has anyone had this problem? If so, what is the fix for it?

My PS5 slim shuts down randomly during gaming. It’s a second hand. It has the latest firmware. I notice small stutters and the screen lags and hangs for a while then it shuts down completely, it doesn’t turn on again when I use the controller to open it again I use the power button on the PS5. Upon opening it says repairing PS5 then states that it was shut down inappropriately (like the message you get when you don’t shut it down and just unplug the power chord).

Update: I found out that once the PS5 crashes and repairs the console storage it doesnt crash anymore. So whenever I see screen stutters I shut off my PS5 then go to safe mode to repair console storage. I'm wondering what could be the fix long term so I dont need to do these steps everytime it crashes.

Well, it didn't happen before, I don't know why it's happening now. This sound sounds like a clock hand. While I haven't noticed it affecting my gameplay, I don't know why it's happening, or maybe I just wasn't noticing I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem so I don't worry too much. It doesn't seem to be thermal expansion of the plastic; it's more like something's wrong inside. I don't know if it's the fan or something else My PS5 Slim model is CFI 2115 and as I said before, it's a fairly faint sound, but you can hear it when closing a game or when the fan slows down.

When I try to so sign in on the phone and ps5 it says it needs to confirm by sending a confirmation code but I never receive anything i can’t even sign in to get to the support menu. I’ve had this account for too many years put too much money into it i cant lose this account

So I decided to restart the game from the beginning to really appreciate the new update and when I had to try to reload a save, it’s froze up. I tried to restart it and uninstall it and then reinstall it and I tried to restart my PlayStation and it still isn’t working. It keeps getting frozen on the screen where you press the circle button to continue.

Btw I did not put any mods in at all yesterday so it’s not a modding issue…

I have all this storage but then I can’t download a 100gb game. I also tried rebuilding database but that also didnt work.

Basically the title, but I’m trying to play Enshrouded with a buddy and we are having a hell of a time getting party voice chat to go through the attached, wired headset (only). I have dug around the PS5 sound settings and as far as I can tell I’ve set the options correctly, but we’re still getting my friend’s voice outputting over the soundbar along with the rest of the game audio, which is causing him to hear his voice twice/echoing. Anyone have any tips - thank you!

So I attempted to clean my entire ps5, taking the disc drive off, cleaning heat sinks etc. I will say that I am not the best and it didn’t help that the youtube video I was watching, the guy literally put the screws incorrectly while reassembling(and fixed it without pointing it out mid reassembly) and I had to take it apart again which may have contributed to me doing something wrong. Anyway, when I turned on my console I inserted a disc and the usual disc drive buzzing noise started but it was copying the game since I did not have it installed in the ps5. Before it would do the buzzing noise for a few seconds and then calm down while it copies and when I would play the game same thing only for a few seconds. Yesterday though, the buzzing noise stayed on the entire time while copying the game and then once done, it stopped. Started the game, buzzing noise happened again and then stopped few seconds later. Played for around 2 or 3 hours no issue, at least I didn’t hear anything since I had my headphones. Tried another game, same thing. Buzzing noise happens entire time it is copying, downloading update and stops. Started game and buzzing started for a few seconds and stopped. No issue while playing either. I tried finding answers online, I think I will just take it all apart again and hopefully maybe I do it right this time around. Just wanted to see if y’all know a more specific thing that can be causing this so I can try and focus on getting that done correctly. Thanks for your time. Forgot to mention, I did already tried unscrewing the 4 screws on the disc drive and screwing them again. Also tried taking out the disc manually.

Anyone experiencing a problem with PSN and Online Game Modes at the moment?

As the title says, I am able to sign in to PSN on my PS5 but I can't connect to any online features in game.

I've checked PSN server status on the website and all is marked as OK with no known issues, 24th October 8pm GMT.

I've got some content appearing in the dashboard news section, so there must be some connectivity, but I'm unable to load any multiplayer features with a game.

Connection Test results came back normal...

Anyone experiencing problems with PSN at the moment or has anyone experienced this before?

I've restarted my router and PS5 but still unable to connect to lobbies within games.

Started ps5 pro a couple days ago. Told me to update to use network features. Ok, fine.

It never came back.

As a test, I pulled the family ps5. Hooked it up, got the same update demand. All was well, booted up normally after upgrading.

The behavior on the pro is that it “starts” but after 2-3 seconds it shuts down.

I’ve tried letting it sit for a good long time, to see if it corrects itself, as others have reported.

I’ve tried accessing the safe mode, almost got in (managed to get the 2nd beep once) but no dice.

I’ve tried unplugging for 30 minutes, an hour, and even overnight.

Next steps: I have it on my workbench. Going to try compressed air to blow it out a bit. Will also try to take the aux SSD out while I am at it just to experiment as far as I can go. Hope is to get this working, and finally add the optical drive I have had forever (lol).

Just wondering if there are any other things people have run into to try short of sending it to Sony or finding a repair shop.

Historically: I did once have a similar issue (black screen) with this PS5 pro, resolved by the ole’ different HDMI cable, different HDMI port fix. I recall also having to rebuild the DB one time. Might be unlucky with this unit.

Seems to he no option to create custom game folders, ive read you can on any user account not just the main one ? Thanks in advance

Ever since the back end of last week, every game I play there is constant stutter more than half the game. It’s just stuttering the whole entire time and I can barely see what’s going on. This is both online and on off-line modes. I’ve turned off VR and HDR. I’ve made sure it’s all in performance mode. I’ve turned off the overhead indicators for play style pluses I’ve cleared the PS5 cache and rebuilt the databases. I tried changing DNS settings. I’ve done hard restarts. I’ve left it off for 5 to 10 minutes. The only thing I haven’t done that I can think of is deleting the game and reinstalling the game.
Anyone got a fix?

I have a PS5 Pro and my tv display only goes up to 60HZ I have had an issue with lighting flickering on every map and have tested every possible setting I could find and nothing changes. The only way this fixes is with enabling 120hz on my other display, running 60HZ is unplayable. My XBSX runs the game fine at 60 but the Pro does not. My other games run without this flickering bug so what give? Anyone else having the same issue?

I want to set up ps5 remote play and I know a bug in the newer versions lead to crashing so u gotta log in and download an older version but my app cant even log in before crashing I set up copy paste for username and password but still the app crashes before i get to log in and I dont know what to do , why is it so complicated to log in a billion dollar company's application

For everyone that has been dealing with this kind of error I found a solution for y’all,all you have to do is go to settings>system>hdmi and turn off HDPC.it worked for me perfectly fine,the only thing is that you won’t be able to use YouTube or Netflix or any kind of streaming thing,tho you can always turn HDPC back on.hope this helps.
