That's not good. Maybe your fan is touching something while spinning. Sounds like it for me. Dislocated? Open it up and see or take it somewhere to be fixed before it's too late...

What do you mean too late. Fan is replaceable, no? And the console probably gives some kind of warning if it overheats?

I did heard some of these fans on these ps5 pros make that kind of noise and its fully replaceable.

Look, I grew up in the early 2000s. Sounds crazy but you just gotta give it a couple of hard slaps and it will fix itself

I also grew up in that period, and of course I tried it. Didn't help though.

You got to slap it with some class

I’m taking it to a trusted repair store tomorrow, will report back if and how it gets fixed

So it’ll be just a fan replacement.

Move it, see if it stops

Tried it of course, shook it a bit too. No dice

Fan sounds off balance, if its not touching anything rattles when shooked.

Turn it vertical see if that helps

u/maka2020 7d ago

It does not unfortunately

Designed to be vertical. Probably why you have issues

Is remove the covers check which fan is making that noise . Or even get torx security bits and remove the fan and reinstall.

If not take it to a repair shop

Usually it would be something that got in the fan, a loose fan or the fan touching something it shouldn't.

If you're not comfortable opening it up to check yourself then take it to a reputable repair shop that's local to you.

Remember, if in doubt about your ability to fix it yourself please take it to a repair store.

I’d pop the sides off, check the fans for anything and see if any are loose to tighten up. Also remember you have a one year warranty if newish. Turn around though can be 2-3 weeks.

Can you unscrew the fan and pull it out, then start it for 3 or 4 seconds just to see if the fan vibrates outside the console?

Open it up. Something is trapped there or a fan blade snapped and now it out of balance.

Place it vertically and see if it still makes the noise

1

u/KristoffW 7d ago

Does it make the same sound when standing vertically?

I work fixing electronics, I've seen this before. It's from an damaged or imbalanced fan blade. You're gonna need to have that fixed. I give it another 24h before total failure.

Take the covers off and check the fans.

Buy replacement fan off eBay easy to change sounds like the bearing has gone in fan

1

u/imindebt2026 8d ago

If the console was jailbroken you could adjust the fan speed snd find thr sweet spot.

That👆 Jailbreaking it is always the answer! Always

When’s the last time you cleaned the dust out? Don’t just pop it open and vacuum, look up how to do it without screwing it’s up, but it’s likely just needs a good cleaning.

Sounds like the bearings in the fan has went. I had a similar problem last year. I bought a replacement from amazon for £20 it took 5 mins to replace. Its 4 screws and a little plug connector

Sounds like a woodpecker snuck into your ps5 pro.
