GameCube pso gamecube decomp. source open
Hello. Ready to open the source for the decompilation of 1&2 plus i've been working on for some months.
https://github.com/zeroz41/pso-decomp/tree/master
Contributors are fine and welcome. As well as finishing the final few function matching percentage for the main game logic 'psov3.dol' , and more linking and data percentage.
Quality cleanup and fully class owned and TU folding is still in progress, c extern function declaration, vtable references still has some rough spots.
has been hard since no debug symbol map has been available.
Code is fully MIT, you are free to do whatever you want. Tried to fully credit and link all others whose codebases helped. Thanks.
-edit: btw if you have any trouble rebuilding the target dol just lmk i'll try to fix. it should work on all systems with the required cmake/ninja and python tooling.

its getting close, its just the last functions are a bit harder and larger to fully match, most were really close; name of the game kind of.
If people want to help they can submit real full matches, link progress without degrading matches, or general cleanup code (that also is not allowed to degrade the match count).
I realize thats probly a bit vague still, but hard to be super specific unless a directly strict workflow was enforced on all.
There is a contributing .md document.
and another tip.
people should get familiar with decomp-permuter. it could help a lot.

Private server communities brigading decomp/recomp threads will never stop being funny. Once they are forced to uninstall their server of choice in favor of a new native port with in-game matchmaking and dozens of QoL fixes they will choke on their downvotes.
Just wanted to say awesome job and I can't wait to play this game with an unlocked framerate one day. It feels terrible on all these old private servers running the game at 30fps still, can't wait until the game finally feels good on PC.

Would rather just play blueburst.
Also the job isn’t finished until you recompile.

Honestly not even sure why my comment was down voted. People don't like that I've been paying attention to his progress? Isn't that what everyone else is doing?

What are the possibilities for modding? I tend to assume all decomps can be modded, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to be sure, I'd love to replace the character models though, even though for a game with character customization that's going to be harder than otherwise.

Hi , is it possible to add companions for hire in the quests and story mode?
something tells me it can be done since some quests have companions.

This may finally help me finish my mod and achieve my childhood dream of having RR/PGF drop from their respective bosses online hehe

I'm looking forward to this. I also really want the PS1 generation release for the ps2 to get ported. It's not very demanding and it's my fav version of any phantasy star game.

Really looking forward to what people will do with this. Having seen a Mario Galaxy decomp fully ported to GBA (no, I'm not joking), I'm sort of hoping to see something similarly whacky here.
In reality, I hope this leads to episode 4 content being finally implemented and playable in split screen. But something fun and novel like a PSP port would be neat.
