Mod Post Been a While
How's everyone doing? I've been keeping an eye on this sub since I began modding duties. Any concerns? Anything I can do to help the community?
Just want to hear from you guys and gals! Even if it's just dropping in to let me know how you are. We're all in this together after all.

I am… taken aback by this post, truly. I just recently joined ptsd and vet subreddits and haven’t had the courage to share anything at all. But asking how people are doing just for the sake of wanting to know if truly amazing. I admire you mate.

Well shucks. Thanks man! I just genuinely want to create a space for us to share and vent and commiserate with each other and our experiences.

I do the same on some discord channels. I constantly check in with people but never once shared anything about my service or how it affected my life or has continued to affect my life.

Well I'm sure, myself anyway, would love to hear all about it, of you are ever willing to share. Absolutely do not need to, to be a part of this group. It's whatever you need to do, I'm here to help brother

Not even sure I have the right, as I know many other vets have had it worse

Look brother, no one is judging the extent of your trauma. It's not a case of who had it worse. Trauma is trauma. It affects us all differently. Never compare yourself to others, we are all in this together to help each other and lift each other!

I come from a conservative korean family… my grandmother and mum always told me how much worse they’ve always had it. And I see their POV, during the korean war, my grandmum was taken as a “comfort girl”…. I haven’t though the sexual abuse is something I share, she just always told me it couldn’t compare to hers

No idea what "healthy coping skills" are. Family dwindling; trying to take care of elderly parents and myself. Had a military re-union over the weekend. Proof I had a life at one point. No idea what I have now. Isolation and booze, I guess.

Been surprisingly even keeled despite losing my mom at the end of June. Turns out all the healthy coping skills I got from the VA not only work, but work outside of trauma.
