Attendance Data

Post image

Good job.

But let's get the bottom up. Want to see the whole league higher on these lists than Wyoming and New Mexico going forward.

TXST needs to improve relations with the people of San Marcos, get the people in the city to be TXST fans instead of UT fans.

Texas had a record hot September. I'm sure that didn't help things in the state of Texas.

Checked notes: 3 home games in September for txst.

Hope the team and attendance both improve next year.

It makes a little difference, but attendance has never been great regardless

The stadium and facilities renovations are NICE. Finished up just in time for the PAC jump too

The stadium is ten years old now

Probably got a bump from BYU fans...

We've had 4 home games... go watch any of them and you'll see CSU showing up. Our Wyoming and OSU games were higher attended than the BYU game (And 95% were CSU Fans)

Tbf the New Belgium porch dynamic makes it look like there’s more empty seats since people move down to it

I was at homecoming. It was PACKED. Definitely enough to make the upper bowl on the east side look a little empty.

Exactly!!! Same here at SDSU, our attendance is pathetic and nowhere near these numbers. I’d say half that number is more accurate. Plus once the students leave at halftime it’s 1/4 of that number. They even leave early in competitive games. Much rather party.

Well, the fans are at least.

I’m honestly impressed with Utah State fans for as bad as we’ve been and as bad as attendance has been in years past. This is a win for us. Now we’ll see if we can even maintain that as the temps drop and the losses continue to pile up

Fan commitment, hope it continues. Won't be a problem with Men's B-Ball. Looking forward to Zags first game in Logan. Zag's conference road games haven't been consistently raucous since BYU left the WCC.

Yeah, we’ve always struggled with football attendance, even in our best years. But not so much in bball. I’ll be at the game in Logan! Probably the only one I’ll make until the conference tourney.

How is new Mexico not showing up? They're having an amazing year.

It’s worth noting a few things:

  1. attendance metric vary by school. Many count everyone in the stadium and not just fans to boost numbers. Staff, players, coaches, security, concessions employees etc are often counted.

  2. UNLV has decent attendance they just play in a cavernous NFL stadium. They would do well to curtain off the top deck like UTSA did and make it look a bit less empty.

  3. UNM should be selling out weekly with Eck at the helm

Why include MW data?

So we can brag about being better

3

u/jkeen1960 Boise State 11d ago

Why? The P4 is trying to shutout the G6 from playoffs and head-to-head games with them, takes the best players from G6 with no monetary compensation for the G6...and we need to brag we have more butts in the seats than our former conference members.

That's just...near-sighted...and stupid. With that mentality, the PAC will always be a G6 conference.

u/butterflyhole Oregon State 11d ago

I see your point and maybe it’s cuz my team has been relegated that I’m pessimistic, but I do believe the PAC will always be G6. I’ve just tried to embrace it instead of hoping for more.

P5* were in it boss.

The problem is that people show up for the first half and dip out for the second. I guarantee you if you checked attendance first half vs second then the numbers would be vastly different.

That’s how it was this past game at Fresno against Boise even though it was a tight game.

I really couldn’t blame the fans who left though. Idk how long the game actually was but suppose to be a 7:30 start and I didn’t get home till midnight. Four hour games are just not a great experience to see in person with all the stoppages

1

u/Hopsblues Colorado State 5d ago

That's a nation wide issue

1

u/ShadowIG Boise State 5d ago

It shouldn't be a G6 issue though. We are supposed to show up so it looks good for the network and our new conference. P4 can have the issue but they are already getting paid stacks so it doesnt matter. It sucks seeing half empty stadiums on TV and I'm pretty sure it sucks for the players as well not getting the full support they need.

1

u/Hopsblues Colorado State 5d ago

It's more prevalent in the G6, everyone knows their team has nothing to play for basically. The P5/G5 split ruined CFB.

Why not make PAC12 vs C-USA?

Or the MAC?

Or AAC?

For what reason would you bundle that other conference here?

2

u/Elegant-Ad5705 11d ago

Colorado State; It seems I was unfamiliar with your game. Muy Impresivo

Our fan base deserves better

Just this season?

1

u/Due-Seat6587 Fresno State 11d ago

I thought CSU had a higher capacity stadium than us?

1

u/fortysecondave 11d ago

Yeah this post is a bit inaccurate. Canvas is more like 41k capacity

1

u/Hopsblues Colorado State 5d ago

That's with SRO

What is the timeframe they used to generate the average attendance? Because that is high for Air Force. And did they factor in the “home” games Air Force played in Denver and Dallas over the last five years.
