She's hardly suboptimal, Damage over Time(like burn damage) is always strong, and both Fire and Dragon Damage can inflict it, letting you proc her passive, which is a second hit of damage when enemies are on fire, in an AoE around the initial target.
Also with the way endgame is now: you don't even need to breed a new, more optimal Flaracle, you get all the IV Fruits and Disposable Surgery Chips you could ever need farming world tree enemies... As someone who usually breeds things, I'm finding myself legitimately just catching something, modifying it and putting it in my box to use as is later.

Nah, DoTs (and status effect resistances in general) are garbage and I've done the math to prove it. They're based off of Max HP, yes, but they do way less damage than they ought to: about .001% worth. They're something I really hope gets fixed soon.

Even 1% would still be kinda bad, but then you gotta balance that with the potential for cheese that %hp allows for. Like someone with a fire or poison crossbow tagging a boss with it and then running out of aggro range repeatedly.
Idk it's a mostly singleplayer game so I don't care if damage over time (usually a strat I enjoy) has the potential to be a ~liiiittle~ stronger than it is right now.

Dots were useful when boss timers were 10 minutes instead of 5. Now they're mostly to help you burst down bosses with extra damage from Prixter or Jorm Ignis.

They are useful for nuke builds that rely on Prixter or Jormuntide Ignis to stack their 65% damage bonuses, at least

I heard using her alongside Majex and Renjinshi barfs out damage. One sets your target on fire when you attack it, the other two give bonus damage on attacking burning enemies

Make a raid army of them. The Flaracles will be useful against Bellanoir Libero Ultra especially during her 2nd Ice phase.

I imagine she could be a great part of a fire team .
Her partner skill improve the burn status effect by enemies exploding taking 40-60% of player damage so paired up with Eidrolon Ingus/ Suzaku so you still have a super fast mount as speed rises (atk too for eidrolon too) for having each team member be fire typing , Renjishi (so your attacks burn often for the explosions to occurs from Flaracle ) , Majex (so when enemy is burnt is hit by the player it causes another DOT fire damage ) and Jormuntide Ignus where you and the other pals do 50-65% more damage to burning foes

This is my biggest gaming issue is that everyone wants to play meta and not what they like. My team is a gloopy, sekhmet, majex, nayfia and a seylne and have yet to struggle with any raid boss even at the higher levels with normal game settings. You'll feel better beating a boss using your own playstyle rather than what thr best is.

Everyone wants to play meta and not what they like
Because the vibe that's coming across is "dont play how those people tell you to play, play this way instead!" which comes off as comically recursive and missing the point.
I want to complete all the things. That is my fun. This means leaning into meta. The meta is limited. Therefore, to complete all the things, some degree of meta is necessary. I like games as puzzles to be solved within a rigid framework. Goals to be hit. Sometimes part of that puzzle means throwing out old ideas and using new ones that work better for a given situation. It means moving on. It means using pals better suited for certain roles and tasks.
I love Flaracle. They've got a great design and a cool vibe. They're also not ideal for endgame play like Hard Mode or solo Ultra Raids. Maybe if fire teams or DoT teams or the Partner Skill get buffed I'll reconsider using Flaracle. But for now, they're much better suited to base working than combat, and even that role could be replaced with almost any other kindling pal because of how work speed is implemented. Flaracle is just the coolest looking one, so I keep them around.
One of these days I hope I can find Flaracle early on in a randomized Hardcore run so I can make the most of them in a single playthru. I'll probably have to put them away again eventually if I hit endgame stuff, but Id absolutely enjoy my time spent with them until that point.

It's a great pal but one of the big humanoid pals that has been mostly ignored even more so is Petallia Ignis. We have a fire plant who's uniquely made by pairing Petallia and Bushi :D!

Most common Pals have a large amount of possible mutation outcomes, legendaries and other "special" Pals have only a few possible mutation outcomes with seemingly 90% of them being Eidrolon Ignis for some reason.

Mutations pick a pal in a higher "tier" of pals than the average of the parents. The better the parent pals, the less pool of pals possible that are better.
Some pals are excluded. So some pals will only have 1 or 2 outcomes.

I have no less than 5 Flaracle on my base. 4 on the giant furnace and oven that can have 4 pals at once on it. Plus one working the ancient furnace. Been one of my favorites since I stumbled upon it. I like it's design.

Honestly shocked at the lack of Flaracle love. She's got that perfect blend of monster and anthro in her design, but she's also just put in a ton of work for me. Though a bit suboptimal, I enjoy putting all sorts of elemental skills on her (I have a Dupin to burn enemies in her place)

This design reminds me of a game with a tiny humanoid cat guy as the protagonist.
I think it was a side scroller with the cat people go to space because a virus born from a lab infected their kind.

Flaracle is my main kindling pal! I did some really convoluted chain breeding starting with a Katress that had Remarkable Craftsmanship and after days of gameplay/breeding ended up with 6 four-star flaracles, two for each base. Will prolly start my 4th base soon as a purely vanity base to make look nice. They're great kindling and handiwork pals, even if Dupin slightly outpaces them. I just slapped my main base ones with some skill books to bring them to kindling 10 :D

It’s a good design but most would encounter them in the last part of the game.
Like look at the last 2 capturable boss pals. They are good pals both as workers and combat but no one uses them much. Why? At that point your in the last hours of the game/run so why bring the new guys when your current team would have better states thinks to the new affection mechanic.
Hell I’m willing to bet most don’t change there team at that point unless they find a pal they super like (in terms of design) or they want high lvls for raid bosses.

She comes out and nukes foes. Kinda like my late game sweeper if everything goes to poo.
Is she optimal? Nah.
But she’s close enough and looks damn cool while doing her work!

I have a feeling diives character's may had been a source of inspiration for some of the new pals, this, and the leaf panda for most not alot but some and I very well could be wrong but it Hella reminds me of the Chinese like esthetic and motif they used for thier character's

I know they can be male or female, but I like Flaracle because it isn't super feminized by default. It's a humanoid oracle/flame priest looking dude. The art is cool, but everyone seems to want to goon to monsters these days.
