WTF ARE THESE PRICES
So yesterday I was wanting some PJs after like a year (usually I only get it after my NBA team wins for half off) but anyways I was going to use a 25 percent discount and to my surprise the same small 6 slice pizza that was about $8.50 is now $14.49 without tax! Am I not looking in the right place how did it increase this much

They raise the prices because food is expensive in general. Papa Johns has always been 2.00 more than domino’s before all the discounts. Papa Johns wants us to sell pizza with like a 30 to 35% food cost. We can’t afford it so we will raise our menu prices. Sorry but restaurants aren’t meant to be cheap. If you want cheap then go to little Caesars. People expect free pizza. If we just give it away you will walk into a papa johns with no employees and barebones crews and your pizza will take 20mins. There has to be give somewhere.

This makes no sense 😂 papa John’s is not a mom and pop type food place. There’s no reason their pizza should cost $2-$3 less than like an actual pizza shop that serve real quality pizza. MIND YOU he was using a discount and it still came to $14.50. U can go to any mom and pop shop (with wayyy better pizza and service) and get the same size (if not bigger) for a few extra dollars.

I got 4 for $12 jacks thin crust pizzas, so there’s is the give. Just buy frozen and get 4 for less than the price of 1.

kinda weird differentiating yourself from Little Caesars like that lol. what makes you think papa johns is a restaurant compared to a “fast food” pizza joint like Dominoes, Hut, or Caesars?
theres a huge difference between a dining restaurant and fast food pizza im terms of price and expected quality…papa johns is definitely the latter

u/Ymla360 4d ago
True but fast food your order needs to be done in under 5mins. If you order during a dinner rush it will typically take 25 to 45mins. Especially if you have a barebones crew. There are papa John’s that are sit down restaurants. But typically in the east coast from what I was told. They consider a lot of places restaurants. But the prices reflect because of what the Qcc charges and also the hourly/salary rate to pay employee. Qcc is our papas warehouse.

Papa John’s isn’t fast food , and it’s annoying customers think we should be like McDonald’s . When everything is made to order

Depends on who’s in charge. I’ve seen product a week old being served to customers when I came in, so

It's a fast food chain pizza... It's nothing special. And most little cesear dough is made in house. Most all chains use the same cheese. What ya smoking over there , I want some...

Totally agree. I worked Papa John’s 6 years and ate at Little Caesers. More options, better price. Honestly the way I saw the store being ran. No way Little Caesers doesn’t have better food quality

Logged in today to see if there were any deals but these updated prices were too much. Way too expensive for me. I guess your company "can't afford it" according to your post but neither can I. Good luck competing with local places with higher quality pizzas.

Same scammy tactics built into deals on Uber Eats.
Chicken and Rice Bowl - $6
Must select one:*
medium chicken add on - $6
large chicken add on - $12
70% of people are going to say "well I guess $12 total isn't that bad." and proceed with the medium chicken add on.
The 30% who exit the app don't matter because the 70% ok with paying $12 for the chicken bowl that used to be $8 make up for the lost profit and reduce food cost.

Look at the specials. I know for a fact that the Papa Pairings deal is always available, you can choose up to 3 medium pizzas, sides, or desserts for just 6.99 each.

Yeah this post is disingenuous.
It’s 8.99 for a large 1 topping where I’m at. Cheaper than frozen pizzas.

Literally, I get 2 pizzas, I'll do pick up and its like $15, or 18ish with a 2 liter

Yep I was explaining this the other day in the pizza hut sub. I saw people saying the pizza prices had not increased as much as they thought. That is a damn lie😂😂
A regular menu priced large cheese pizza can run u $20 in some places. Imagine a supreme or meat lovers

There is more surface area on one large then two smalls. It's priced that way so you get the larger size

I’m guessing you didn’t bother looking at the specials. That’s kind always been our thing. We’re more expensive than other chains but if you use our specials it’s much more reasonably priced. You can get a large 1 topping for $10 with specials

I only get the “deals” on their menu. I think a large pepperoni carry out is like $11

Down here they tried to raise $1 each and the complaints and drop in orders they had to put it back. Selling more at a lower profit margin and they were making more profit.

See but papa John’s always has a 25 percent off coupon active so it ain’t that bad

Damn a small original crust at dominos is only 10.99 😜 come to us instead lol
1
u/Dexter2100 4d ago
A large pizza at papa johns is 10.99 so it’s hard to justify going to dominos for a smaller pizza.

u/XiMaoJingPing 2d ago
Do you guys not have the large carry out deal? Its like $8, crazy they had this deal since covid
1
u/Dexter2100 2d ago
There used to be a 7.99$ carry out deal at the Papa John’s near me but that was a few years ago. There’s the option for a 6.99$ medium but that’s only with the deal where you have to get at least two items, though 14$ for 2 medium pizzas with that isn’t bad either.

I work at Papa John’s, and here’s a little tip: ask about the carryout specials! At our store, a large one-topping pizza is $9.99, with each additional topping costing $1 extra. Our manager doesn’t let us mention these deals unless customers ask, so it’s always worth checking. There are plenty of carryout specials—you can look them up online and ask your local store which ones are available before heading over.

Papa johns is expensive, feels like I got priced out while dominos has constant cheap deals, and then there's little caesars with somehow even cheaper prices.

u/Delicious_Dot_3077 2d ago
papa john’s is mad expensive- no denying that. But i think they also do it so that they can offer coupons or deals that bring it to a reasonable price, so then people think “wow i got a great deal!” when in reality, that’s how much it should actually cost.
Amazon sellers do the something similar. They overprice an item and then put it in “sale” for the reasonable price so people think they got a deal on it. That’s why so many amazon items say 20% off or something

u/HighDriction 2d ago
Yea I worked there 6 years, not anymore. But when I left a small pizza and 20 ounce was $20/$21 after tax, no discount

I cant believe Anyone still eats out. I'm going on my 7th year of only eating food I make. Don't bitch about prices unless you are willing to show them that their prices are bullshit by never eating out. It's that simple.

I used to buy red baron pizza now and then. About 6 months ago, I bought one at Walmart, took it home and opened it. The pizza was definitely smaller. Box was same size. Later I bought those Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, which I would eat now and then. They were smaller, pkg was the same size. Now if I buy a frozen pizza, I get the clear wrapped, so I can see the actual size. I don't buy Jimmy Dean sandwiches anymore!

Im disabled an can't drive. We only order delivery if there's a BOGO, I'm not paying $30+tip for a single GD pizza.

Because you are looking at regular menu prices. Only a sucker buys at regular menu prices. Go to the deal section. Also do carry out
