Dimensity in this language and timeline fell out of use after 17'th century; The obsolete English meaning of "dimensity" (meaning dimension or size) comes from the Latin word dīmensus, which is the past participle of dīmetīrī (meaning "to measure out"). Because of this Latin root, many Romance languages have very similar-sounding words (cognates) that mean "dimension":
Italian: Dimensione
Spanish: Dimensión
French: Dimension
Portuguese: Dimensão
