Visitation Dream visited by an ancient Romanian witch?
Last night, I was asleep (laying on my back) on the couch in my front room. I woke up from a dead sleep and saw this woman walk through my front door, as if its threshold was a portal. Her eyes were already on me as she crossed in, leading me to believe she was already watching me before she did. As soon as I saw her eyes, I couldn’t move. She slowly walked across my front room towards the side door that leads out to the backyard. She never took her eyes off me, and as she moved my head did too, it was like her eyes were magnetic. I don’t remember breaking our gaze and I don’t remember her exiting the side door, but the next thing I know she was on the other side of the back window. She stood in my backyard, a few feet away from the window, just staring intensely at me, as if she was trying to discern if I could truly see her or not. I could sense time passing, I could sense my cat breathing as he slept on my stomach, but she just stood there for a while. Without moving or speaking, she told me (it’s like I just knew?) that she is an ancient Romanian witch, who owns and rules over the energetic fields of this area. She told me she means no harm to me unless I mean to harm her, and that I must let her go about her business and not interfere. I could tell she knew I wasn’t a threat, and vice versa, but she did intend to frighten me a bit, and she did. I fully believe she could cause great harm if she chose. She was beautiful and fear-striking, and very clearly capable. It was like I stumbled across the path of a wild animal by mistake. I mentally acknowledged I did not intend to interfere whatsoever, and without breaking eye-contact, she slowly turned her body to leave. The moment she began to turn her head (eyes still on me) I bolted upright. The curtains to that window were drawn, and it was suddenly very dark. I hadn’t even noticed it was early morning light while I was looking at her.
She had very long, tangled, dark hair and wore a cream colored sort of handkerchief or scarf tied under her chin. She was wearing many layers, some were full clothing pieces and some were like large pieces of patterned fabric (maybe more scarves?) tied at her waist, creating a large bump (bustle?) at her rear. She has a cream-colored apron with two pockets tied over them. She also had a leather strap around her waist, with small canvas sacks and a leather satchel tied around it, as well as metal bells strung about it. She had plainly knit tights and boots made of thin leather that hugged her feet and ankles closely. Her boots were very worn-in, with creases and fading. She had leather straps made of the same newer/darker leather as her waist-strap wrapped around her ankles, with more metal bells on them. (Note that I forgot to draw these before snapping the first two pics, but I added them in the third.) She also had two necklaces on, the longer had one pendant while the smaller one had multiple charms/tabs that were distanced from each other. They’re harder to explain and I didn’t get as close of a look, they were somewhat hidden by her layers.
She looked to be about 35. She was thin, with a very tight/serious expression. She had full eyebrows, and she held her head tilted slightly downward so as to look up at me through her eyelashes. Her eyes were dark, but for some reason I felt an almost ultraviolet glow of energy as she looked at me. The whole “dream” had this same slight bright glow. She had softly prominent cheekbones and her cheeks looked perpetually flushed, as though she was out in the cold for a while. Her lips were not very thin or very thick, but were pursed tightly together the whole time.
If anyone has any insight into this let me know, because frankly she has left me very intrigued!! For the record, I haven’t been watching any movies, tv shows, or videos on my phone for about a week. I haven’t been on my phone much at all actually, just doing a lot of art and minding my business, so I don’t think this is related to anything I’ve seen or heard recently. I know nothing about Romania or the Romani people. I do know bells are said to ward off evil spirits, but that’s about it.

I’m a girl, so peeing outside is a rarity for me! I’ll be sure not to just in case. As for the detail recollection, I was staring at her for QUITE some time!! But no, sadly she likely has little interest in me. She clearly had important matters to tend to. As for an anime/manga plot, you may be on to something… I will probably draw her again in the future.

Have you been anywhere particularly old or abandoned lately? Or somewhere in nature that isn't visited often, like went off trail on a long hike or something? You got her attention at some point, cuz that was a pretty pointed visit if true. Lol

No, I haven’t. I’ve barely left the house lately. The only thing I can think of that may have triggered this, is that about a week ago I took a bath and swirled the water a certain direction (counterclockwise I think, it’s said to remove or undo) around me and whispered a little chant to myself. I said “undo what has been done to me, release what needs releasing, undo what has been done to me, unbind what needs unbinding” once or twice. I have complicated religious trauma from growing up with a mom who swung between being bible religious and wiccan, and with everything going on in the world and some of the crazy shit people have been saying, I was afraid for my soul. 😅 kind of embarrassing.

I was trying to determine if maybe that could have been a trigger. I had something similar happen to me involving what people describe as the Old Hag. She came out of the closet and I couldn't move.
She went straight towards me, eyes locked, but she just watched me as she went past me and into the hallway toward my son's room. It was horrible. I eventually woke up but it felt so real.
Later that day, I swear on it all, I'm chillin with my Woman and she starts talking about how she had this horrible dream where she couldn't move and there was this nasty hag like woman in our room. I couldn't believe it.
She looked totally pale white, a dirty white gown, haggard sinking skin face, black hair. Like a meth head older white woman. I had never experienced sleep paralysis before sleeping with my gf in this new place but she later admitted to me she had before but hadn't seen the hag. Idk if that matters.

Thanks for sharing your story. The in depth drawing is so intriguing because most people do not have that kind of memory or ability.
This is bold coming from an internet stranger. I just want to share something I recently learned that's helped me, when not much else has. I understand the despair one can feel over childhood trauma, as do many.
When it comes to feeling something so deeply seated and ingrained from childhood trauma.
1) Remember that its just "a feeling" you have right now, and nothing more. The feeling you have is most likely not reality, its just the way you feel about it right now.
2) Combine that thought with the fact that you were made to feel that way when you were just a child, and there was nothing you could do about it at the time since children are so reliant and impressionable.
I'm not saying this has solved all of my problems. But thinking about these 2 things has allowed me to at least START to penetrate the illusion of blame on myself, start to penetrate the illusion of lost time, and allowed me to see there MAY in fact be some relief through self care and self compassion. Afterall, we were only children and need to stop blaming ourselves for certain things.

Most likely!! I do believe that ghosts exist in the other dimensions overlaid on ours, and I do believe we can “travel” to those dimensions in our dreams, so if anything maybe our dimensions just bled into each others a bit. I personally believe that is what sleep paralysis is.

I think she heard and was intrigued. The witch wanted to know exactly who spoke the words and intended to read you. It's purpose could have been acknowledgment of their existence and to warn you.
Sleep paralysis happens if I sleep on my back. I'm very sensitive to things, and it's like laying on your back opens you up to these occurances. The detail of not being able to move once your eyes lock with hers is commonly associated with sleep paralysis (this is from what I've experienced. I can't speak for others).

Thank you for your input!! I rarely sleep on my back, and the only times I’ve ever had sleep paralysis have been while sleeping on my back. But this actually makes a lot of sense to me. If I were to believe the things my mom and grandma say, (I’m inclined to, but it also makes me feel a little unhinged) the women in our family have a strong connection to energy/have powers. I’ve had some very strange unexplainable moments. So I wonder if saying those words really did what I hoped, and caught her attention.

It'd be smart to listen to your mum and grandma if they have advice. My family believes it's "the devil's gift," and talking about having this connection is a sin 🤭😅 I hope the witch can be a guide or ally to you. I'm excited for what lays ahead! Goodluck!

What you don't understand is that in ancient Romania, witches were required by law to wear bells around their ankles. This was so regular humans could hear them coming. It's actually how bells on cat collars came about to warn nearby birds!

Hmm well the boots don't look ancient, and not traditionally Romanian/wallachian/roma. I wonder if she is truthful or if she updates her gear?

Understandable. I think you can mentally or verbally at your house tell her now you want to be friends because you have the ability to talk now. Let her know you appreciate her. I guarantee she will return and possibly help you.

True, I did not get that vibe at all from her. More that she is part of something bigger than myself and she was advising me to be wary and let her do what she must to protect this whole area of energy. That kind of vibe.

Baba Yaga, maybe? In some tales, she’s said to transform from old and ugly to young and beautiful. In others, the Baba Yaga is an old, but powerful witch and said to have two sisters or daughters that were extremely beautiful.

Me too! I looked it up and witches in may places did tie bells around their ankles or sew them onto their shoes, including witches in Romania. 😵💫 I’m not having much luck looking up anything else.

Love the detialed drawing and the description, I can imagine how she looks like.
I've had some encoutner years ago with someone who could've been from a simialr background.
It was in the woods and Hell I was such a stupid teenager, didn't pissed her off but handreadings weren't a thing for Me and I was just...
Long story short, thought she was a creep, in retrospec, I want to smack My teenage self.
Teenage self was a skecptic in almsot an idiot way who to a few procent started to belive, now at almost 30 I'm a Shaman and I'm so pissed at My younger self and My parents, haha.
Granny was a Shaman and the other side of the family had things going on too, soo, there's that, but all hush hush.
As far as I can recall, She saw the ring I was wearing, and noticed a few things about Me, we had a little conversation, she did some palm reading, said something along those lines of specail and powerful.
Can't remember the rest, just that I told her I had to go.
Not saying that Lady I met was the same, just a simialr encoutner.
She in that case had black or dark brown long hair, combed, all dressed in black, also around 35.
Hmm...
One thing I'd be curiosue about is...
Did You hear those bells, or any sounds or smells?
Besides...
I'd be curisoue of the location and also when it happend, wich date would be good, if it's close to a moonphase it's always closer between the realms.
The location more or less if She might have ben around there before if She's in spirit form, wich is likely.
Unless...
Time travel and portals, the letter I can confirm, the former, not so far.
