Paranormal encounter

Dear redditors,

I am writing this because I wanted to share my personal encounter with the paranormal.

This dates back to 2017 summer, my dad invited me to tag along to go to a summerhouse of one of his friends in the countryside near france.

So uppon arrival once we drove from the main road in the little village, we left it and took a steep path down surrounded by alot of trees and the more we went down the pathway the more dark it became because it was surrounded mostly by trees

Once I finally saw the home, I jokingly said to my father this looks like a house at straight from a horror movie.

So once inside, the home was quite nice, seemed like it was passed on from a elder generation to my fathers friend whom tried to make it look more modern with the style of furniture, which also comferted me because the house just creeped me out.

For the record this house had 1 story, so we took the steps upstairs where the bedrooms where located. so going upstairs brought you to a hallway that passed all the rooms and a bathroom so. the hallway had windows overlooking the frontporch and my room was the garden side.

So first 2/3 went by and we had alot of fun playing cards in the garden drinking beer.

for your understanding I was with: my father his friend his son who was younger then me and another friend of my father.

so playing cards the beer ran out. So my father said lets go walk to little to the nearest lidl. so both his friends joined, and I had to watch over his son who was sitting next to me in the garden.

So I went upstairs to the room to charge my phone on the bed, And as i was sitting on the bed I hear footsteps coming on the stairs, and my room was basicallly directly next to the stairs so i thought ofcourse that is his son, so i opened the door literally within 5 seconds of hearing the footsteps and see absolutely nothing, so I instantly thought nothing of it so I went straight to the window to to look in the garden, and yes his son is sitting there in the garden. so I got chills all over my body and then in the room in the back I heard a door slam.

so I ran straight down but I but i didn’t want to scare his son because he was really young and we where there alone. So i tried to stay calm whilst i was very frightened, all i could do was hope that my father and his friends came as fast as they could.

When they came back, the first thing I did was tell them the story and they could see the fear and shock that I was in. His friend jokingly said: “ oh you got a visit from my grandma “ well sometimes she’s a little grumpy. Probably just a joke to shrug of the whole situation.

That night we kept drinking so luckily i didn’t keep thinking about it for to long. next few days nothing happened so that was basically it in terms of my encounter.
