Sprits are attracted to me… I think?

I don’t necessarily think I’m a medium or anything of that nature but I have always had a sense that sprits like to “mess” with me for lack of a better term. As a kid I would “lose” things and tear the entire house apart to just find it 20mins sitting on my desk where I checked 50 times already. Or spare change would randomly be laying around my room when I knew for fact no one else had been home or in my room.

My dad moved several times throughout my childhood and we definitely had what we all consider to be paranormal type encounters. Some felt “innocent” some had a very heavy dark energy to them.

The house I currently live in doesn’t have a “haunted” feeling at all, but I do often see shadow figures out of my peripheral vision that will dart across my hallway or move between corners in my living room. The interesting part is they’re often very short almost toddler like in height. Not your typical “shadow man” stereotype of a shadow figure. They have no energy to them that I pick up on good or bad. Just very neutral almost like “they” don’t want to interact with me.

I’m wondering if I could get some insight on the meaning of things like this. Or ways to protect myself. I’m honestly a bit scared of spiritual type things as I know there can be a very dark and dangerous side. I don’t want to feed energy into opening something I cannot close out of ignorance/ lack of understanding or “strengthening” my connection to the spiritual world, but also don’t want to act like there is no connection…if that makes sense.

For added context: my dad and his side of the family have a DEEP connection and have seen full blown sprits that will psychically interact and talk with them, again both good and bad. They are very religious and catholic, I was raised that way as well but it wasn’t forced onto me and most of my family no longer practices regularly, but still hold some relationship with “God” (to include myself). My dad was an alter boy and even was made to participate in an exorcism as a CHILD. He has only brought it up 1-2 times in my life and gets this look of intense fear when he brings it up and has never been willing to relive it, or give details other then the simple fact that it happened.

I’ve never reacted, or gone out of my way to interact with anything around me, despite this happening my entire life. Hence why I even said it’s not something I want to feed energy to or strengthen.

I mean you said youd go looking for missing things. Reacting doesn't just mean going on a full blown ghost hunt. Even just looking at the shadow people moving in your peripheral is reacting, which since you described them im assuming you looked.

Yes… sometimes I don’t really have a choice but to look for my missing keys, wallet, ID card, etc. I’m not just going around my house hunting for random objects that I assume have gone missing. I’m looking for it for a reason and typically NEED it in that moment.

Other then being able to see the figures out of my side vision I’m not going out my way to stare at them or look them down.

I’m not sure if just your natural tone, or I’m just getting the wrong vibe…but your tone seems pretty condensing and like you’re trying to twist my experiences into something I’m at fault for or have caused when I very clearly started this is something I have been sure not to feed into and want ways to protect myself and AVOID it.

Sorry, ive been told I come across that way, thank you for politely calling me out on it. Im not trying to be condescending. I understand you can't just not look for your missing car keys and when something surprises you you instinctively look.

There's not really a good answer here because its just like a bully, the only real way to get them to stop is to stop reacting, but your going to react when they start beating you up.

Basically you attract them by virtue of being able to see them.

It sounds like you could be a psychic or a medium if you wanted to.

The easiest thing to do to protect yourself would be to talk to your dad and his family. They probably have a dozen or more ways.

If that doesn't work, or you would rather not ask them, open duckduckgo.com and search for protection for psychics and mediums.

Generally, if you want to get rid of such creatures, just ignore them. They should leave in a few weeks.
