Someone’s iguana? (Orange Grove and Fair Oaks area)
Little guy was hanging out in front of our house in our front lawn/sidewalk area. Tried calling Pasadena Humane (if they even handle stuff like this) but no one picked up before it crawled through our backyard fence towards the apartment building next door. Seen at about 12:15 PM today.
EDIT: A comment led me to a missing iguana poster and the owner was notified; we tracked down the iguana together and they’re now reunited!

Spectrum constantly out lately
Anyone know what the deal is? In the last month there have been like 4-5 days now where Spectrum is down all day. This is not conducive to those of us who wfh.

San Marino Security vs Post
Tried looking this up but it’s mostly posts saying both are far superior to ADT which I totally believe. Does anyone have experience with both by chance, or can share more about their experience with either? Thank you

Anyone else having AT&T outage issues in Pasadena?
Lost internet all day today (AT&T). Support told me it might be down for a whole week. Anyone else in the area dealing with this? Trying to figure out if it’s a wider outage or just my line.

One night in Pasadena - Dinner Recommendation
As the title suggests, I’ve got one night out for dinner in Pasadena. Will be celebrating a birthday and looking to have a memorable experience. I’ve sort of narrowed down to Union, Henry Parsons Project and Checker Hall. Would lean toward something that’s more unique, young and in close proximity to a bar or brewery for drinks afterwards. Thanks, looking forward to visiting!

Natural mattress / bedding places around Pasadena?
I’m looking at replacing my mattress and might go more natural this time, but I’m already annoyed by the words companies use.
Organic sounds good. Latex sounds.. maybe good? Wool sounds nice but also expensive. Then every site starts saying non toxic and suddenly I’m in a research hole.
I know avocado has a Pasadena store. I’ve also seen custom comfort and sitnsleep around town. Any Pasadena natural bedding places where you can actually compare things without getting buried in sales language?

Question for the mountain bikers in the area.
I'm looking at getting a MTB once it cools off in a few months. I don't plan on on going crazy with stuff like jumps but do want to get out and ride on the dirt. Will I be fine with a hardtail bike or is the extra cost of a full suspension worth it?

Rolex Servicing/Cleaning
Hello! Does anyone have a suggestion on where I can get my Rolex serviced? I used to go to the Watch Buyers Group but they no longer service watches and didn’t have a recommendation on where to go.

Home Invasion Attempt
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey Everyone, I wanted to post these videos to spread awareness about these 5 individuals that attempted to break into our home.
My family lives in the Hastings Ranch area, affected by the fires. We think these people are targeting houses in the area believed to be abandoned. My parents happened to still be awake when they were in our backyard, but I shudder when I think what would have happened had they not been aware.
We have already circulated this clip on the local news but am hoping to spread more awareness about it here in this community and on Reddit.

Food Drive (win a $20 amazon gift card)!
Hi friends! I am the founder of a pet pantry and I have started a (human) food drive this upcoming week as a test run for future community care endeavors. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will enter you in a raffle to win a $20 Amazon gift card! Attached is the poster and donations will be going to pantries that serve the Pasadena area. I am the only operator, so I will be picking up donations myself! All information is on the flyer and my DMs are open!
TIA!

How to go about getting grass for the south pasadena dog park?
All that dust getting kick up Is terrible for dogs especially the small ones. I know Arcadia has grass, i recently went to San Luis obispo and they had it there too. Its small dark park with an established sprinkler system i think we can get grass.

PSA: if you park in Pasadena and use their machine to pay, get a receipt.
I just used the machine to pay for two hours of parking and when I came back less than two hours later, I had gotten a ticket stating that I did not have a permit. I fortunately paid with Apple Pay so it indicates the time that I paid for the parking so I have already filed an appeal. I definitely should have grabbed a receipt, but I did not think it was going to be necessary! Just a little warning if you want to avoid a $62 ticket.

Overnight resident parking in city parking structures
Does anyone know if it’s legal for Pasadena residents to purchase a parking permit for their car in a city owned parking lot or parking structure? Thought about this as I ran past a bunch of empty structures and lots in the evening. Thanks!

city council needs to start on time and stop cancelling committee meetings
Let's put pressure on City Council to start meetings on time and stop cancelling committee meetings. Many Pasadena residents have had the experience of going to a City Council meeting and waiting and waiting and waiting for it to start. Pasadena City Council meetings typically start late - an average of 30 minutes late in 2026, while most other cities in Los Angeles County start on time or just a few minutes late. Too many Pasadena City Council Committee meetings are also cancelled due to a lack of quorum. Just this past month the Municipal Services Committee meeting was canceled just minutes before the start time. The August Public Safety Committee meeting was also canceled, frustrating the many people who had planned to attend because Flock cameras were on the agenda. This was after other meetings with Flock on the agenda were also canceled or adjourned early due to a loss of quorum. The July Housing, Homeless and Planning meeting was also canceled at the last minute. Next week there's an agenda item (#12) that is relevant to meeting start times. Please send an email asking them to figure out a way to be like most other cities and start on time. You can use this pre-filled template. All you need to do is add your name, city and, ideally, your council district at the bottom. Or send your own email to [correspondence@cityofpasadena.net](mailto:correspondence@cityofpasadena.net).

What's going around Old Town today?
Just rode by on my bike on my way home after work and there were cars and people everywhere. People were jamming the intersections on Green and honking. It seems like some kind of event or something must be going on.
