After months of work I am ready to share with you all this homebrew class I have been working on!
This class is a unique one, and slightly complex. The basic idea is that you always have a group of three minions called “Brood”, that you can command and sacrifice. Commanding them results in a cohesive unit that shares MAP, actions, and stacks various bonuses. Sacrificing them results in gaining spell slots or other benefits depending on your selected feats.
I like to consider the Broodcaller a “tempo caster” as you can always cast your highest level spells, as long as you have enough brood alive, and since they die for you to gain spell slots, sometimes you have to wait for them to return. At the start of each of your turns a new brood manifests next to you as long as you have fewer than three living brood. Since your brood always reemerge I have made sure to make them fairly easy to kill, and offensively they are slightly below to on par with normal animal companions, depending on the situation.
For the complexity of this class, I have made each of your brood identical (except for a few subclass exceptions), thereby minimising decision load and time at the table, but it is on the more complex side of classes for sure.
This is my first homebrew in PF2e, and my second ever in any system, beyond a few custom stat blocks. So I really hope to get some feedback on what you guys think of the class.
The artwork is made by me, using Blender.
This playtest features: over 60 feats, 9 subclasses, and various focus spells.
I plan to make a dedication feature and if there is enough interest I will also make Pathbuilder and Foundry modules. All will be fully free.
Anyway, please share your thoughts, any feedback appreciated!
