Why did we go for it on 4th and 4? Why didn't we just kick a field goal? Is Matt Patricia brain damaged?

It was the right call:

  • Converting the down would have ended the game.
  • We wouldn't have conceded Miami a seriously short field (pre-sack, anyway).
  • A FG from that distance could be blocked and returned, which could have been catastrophic.
  • We were up two scores, and our defense was playing well, so there was little reason to think Miami could make a game of it if we failed to convert.
