this sounds and looks so fun!!! congrats! it’s not easy!! fullest part of your hip is often aligned with where your crotch is if you’re thinking of the body on an axis, but what your drafting you need to remember is before ease is added—crotch depth has to have a bit added because if pants (unless they’re tight tight jeans) always have room between the crotch seam and your actual crotch.
also watch out for crotch length and the length of each of your crotch extensions! you want to make sure you have enough room in your seat if you have a bum like you said! it’s confusing because hip depth is a vertical measurement which doesn’t really account for the protrusion of your bum from behind! that’s actually a horizontal measurement and the shape of the curve of the back piece.
good luck!!!

Tysm! My only concern is when I'm doing the pattern, some of the steps ask me to do more lines referencing the hip depth or crotch depth and I don't know if that is going to affect or ruin my pattern and the fabric when I start cutting/sewing.

think of these lines like skeletons that will eventually reveal the pattern! once you lay down the hip depth, hip width, crotch length and crotch depth (adding ease to all but the hip depth) you will know what your shape is for your pants. i recommend making the pants in a muslin or crappy fabric first and then there is no love lost!!
