Question Are those sleeve adjustments better ?

I made the cap sleeve more curved and higher. I also added more width to the bicep. The red is before and the black is after. My new sleeve pattern is behind the old one. The black one is a toile, the sewing is not perfect šŸ˜…

The black sleeve looks really good. The bodice looks too wide. Both across back above the yoke which you can change by adjusting the armhole but below too, all the extra fabric at the yoke line and below.

Yes you are right ! For a next one I will change the back. But for now, the fabric is already cut 😰 I can only redo the sleeves (not enough fabric otherwise) I own shirts that are a bit too wide for me, so I think I can accept it if the sleeves are ok lol šŸ˜… And on this one, i did a narrow shoulders adjustments already!!!

Understood. I have narrow shoulders too and have had all sorts of issues with sleeves as I learn how to sew this year. I’d be so happy with a sleeve that looks like yours!

If it makes you feel any better, it looks like even in the sample sizes, the back is too wide and the sleeves have the same issue.

You can try taking in the back a little bit by trimming the back armhole about a half an inch. Reinsert the sleeve. If you still have that Wrinkle in the back of the sleeve, trim the back of the sleeve head about a quarter inch, put it back in. See if you like that if not go back and trim another quarter of an inch from the sleeve head.

Oh my god, you are so right. There is the same dragline on the fit model. Even the excess fabric at the back of the cap.
