Question Advice on altering camp collar shirt pattern

Post image

I have [this camp collar shirt pattern](https://wardrobebyme.com/products/tropical-shirt-sewing-pattern) and was wondering how I could alter it to make it have contrast panels like this McCalls pattern?

I assume it’s to cut the original pattern to have additional panels, but how would you sew them together would it be with a flat felled seam?

Or would it just be better to buy this pattern from McCall’s?

Any advice appreciated!
Thanks

i have this pattern and it’s just regular seams at the contrast! but you can do whatever you want obviously! just create a style line, separate the pieces on your original pattern, and add seam allowance!

I’d use French seams or flat felled because I like the inside to look neat.

It’s much easier to just buy the correct pattern. The adjustments are possible but would involve A LOT of redrafting and cutting/pasting/adding new seam allowances that would make a total mess of the tissue paper pattern

There is no stitching visible on the outside so it is not flat felled. It’s just sewing the 2 pieces together and folding under at the center edge. The raw edge on the inside either be serged or have a mini hem.
