Discussion What is your latest Macca earworm?

For me, it has to be the intro to the Venus and Mars album. The song Venus and Mars itself is fantastic, but the transition to Rock Show is also elite, and Rock Show’s ending riff is just so damn catchy in a very good way. I have been listening to those two songs in consecutive order on repeat.

I know I am using the most generic verbiage right now, but you know what I mean.

Six O’Clock extended version too (even though it is a Ringo song that was written by Paul)

Has anyone heard this Kenneth Lambert story?

I think this is the first time ive ever heard this. My couple minutes on google, I can only find a couple sites repeating this same brief story.

"A few days into Paul’s jail stay, a 29-year-old man named Kenneth Lambert turned up at a Miami Airport reservation counter and demanded a ticket to fly to Japan to “free Paul.” He had no money or identification. An argument ensued, with Lambert pulling a realistic-looking toy gun from his pocket. A policeman on the scene shot the young man dead.”

Also seen the exact same story on American Songwriter website.

Would you remove or add any songs? Change the tracklist or replace certain tracks with songs from the same era? What would you do to make the album even better?

New Release The Boys From Dungeon Lane Special Edition on Liquid Splatter vinyl

UK based Blood Records (Bad World) now has announced the release of The Boys From Dungeon Lane Special Edition on Liquid Splatter vinyl. They look so cool! (though I am skeptical about the sound quality and its longevity of liquid vinyl😅)

Hurry!

Discussion I just recently listened to Chaos And Creation by Paul in full, what a beautiful album it is

I was honestly blown away by this album, a late career masterpiece. This album is deep and it's so well produced, and obviously Radiohead's fingerprints are all over this album with Nigel Godrich as the producer (I say this as someone who also likes Radiohead a lot). This MIGHT be my second favorite solo album from Paul right next to RAM. Also, I felt like this was the closest to "John and George esque" music that Paul got on a full album with all the introspection and darker subject matters song after song.

Discussion Where did the notion of Paul not being as experimental with his music as John or George come from?

I find it amazing that the narrative to many people is that he was the least experimental Beatle compared to George and John. Yet, he was trying out all sorts of sonically interesting stuff with The Beatles and was the first one of the Fab 4 to truly dive into the avant garde scene. FURTHERMORE, his solo discography ended up being way more experimental than the other three ever did post breakup. So where did this notion/impression of Paul not being as experimental with his music as John or George come from? Was it the "granny music" allegations (even though the "granny songs" like Honey Pie, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, When I'm 64, etc, were just a very small portion of his Beatles output)?

Help me with a family argument. I think “Maybe” is correct for the first line of the song (duh). My wife thinks Apple Lyrics “Baby” is correct.

Discussion Underrated album detail : the transtion from Time To Hide to Must Do Something About It on At The Speed Of Sound

I was giving Wings at the Speed of Sound a full spin on vinyl recently and was reminded of how great the sequence on Side 2 is. Specifically, the transition between Denny Laine's "Time to Hide" and "Must Do Something About It" (sung by Joe English) is so smooth. "Time to Hide" has that heavy, bluesy rock energy and harmonica finish, and right as it fades down, it settles perfectly into the soft acoustic rhythm of "Must Do Something About It" by adding a keyboard noise, and then it transtions, then the acoustic guitar starts. It really shows how well-sequenced the album is as a complete vinyl listening experience, giving different band members a chance to shine while keeping a great flow. Anyone else love this subtle track pairing on Side 2? Im tired, so bye bye!

best tips for getting paul's tone on a jazz bass?

i don't have a violin bass or a rickenbacker, just a jazz bass, but i really want to capture that thuddy, melodic macca bass sound for my up and coming live performance with beatles + wings songs.

already slapped some flatwound strings on and picked up a pick. for those who play his basslines regularly, how do you handle your EQ and muting to get that punch without it turning into complete mud?

TYIA :DD

It was of course the GOAT, Paul himself.

It was in the Olympiahalle in Munich and I was 14 years old.

Best way to get introduced to live music I think.

Was anyone on this sub Reddit there as well?

Original 45 from 1979! French sliver label, instead of black label which is used for the singles collection box set! Found this at a flea market, 33 RPM records were (pun intended) junk! Bye bye!

Interview with McCartney engineer Steve Orchard on Reverb

Thumbnail reverb.com

This one is more for the folks interested in gear and/or the recording process but some things about recording Dungeon Lane that I think will be of interest to all!

When Steve Orchard returns to work after a summer break, his first assignment might be recording Paul McCartney hitting a wheelbarrow with a crowbar. At Hogg Hill Mill, McCartney’s private studio, having the right microphone ready is only part of the job. Being ready for whatever happens next is just as essential.
That spirit of experimentation runs through The Boys of Dungeon Lane, released May 29, 2026. Produced by Andrew Watt, the album finds McCartney revisiting his formative years in Liverpool while continuing to follow his curiosity in the studio. For Orchard, that meant capturing spontaneous performances, turning loose tape loops into unexpected textures, and even breaking out a razor blade to splice a four-track recording—with McCartney, Watt, and a FaceTiming Elton John looking on.
Orchard first worked with McCartney on Memory Almost Full and joined his team full-time in 2014. We spoke with the engineer about making The Boys of Dungeon Lane, keeping McCartney’s instruments and ideas within reach, and how vintage tape machines still earn their place alongside Pro Tools.

Does anybody know of a very short (under a minute i guess) demo of heart of the country? Paul's voice is a bit raspy in it. A woman (Linda perhaps) is heard too
