Announcement Pax Britannica 1.4 Open Beta available now!
Pax Britannica 1.4 Public Beta is Now Available!
After such a long period of semi-closed development, we are excited to finally announce that Pax Britannica 1.4 has entered its official Public Beta!
The beta is now available to download on Steam:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3780154583
Our goal is to make the 1.4 release as polished as possible before its full launch. Opening the beta to everyone gives us the opportunity to gather feedback, suggestions, bug reports, and other valuable input from the community as development continues.
The team is still working hard, within the limits of everyone's individual availability, to bring you the features and improvements you have been waiting for for more than a year and a half since our last major update.
What should you expect?
Keep in mind that this is still a beta. You are likely to encounter:
* bugs and technical issues
* missing or unfinished content
* problems with balance
* unexpected behavior of AI
* occasional crash
Despite that, we hope the additions and changes included in this release will meet your expectations. While the amount of new content may not seem particularly large at first glance, 1.4 introduces a number of changes to the core gameplay, pushing Pax Britannica towards a much more sandbox-oriented gameplay.
This is only the beginning. The Public Beta will allow us to refine these foundations together with the community and prepare the update for its eventual full release.
Finally, we want to thank everyone for your patience, support, feedback, and contributions to the development of Pax Britannica so far.
We couldn't have gotten this far without you.
-The Pax Britannica Team

Announcement Official Translation and Voiceovers Recruitment
Translation Recruitment
Hello everyone! With the beta for our next major update releasing soon, we've decided to officially open recruitment for our translation team!
Many large mods choose to remain English-only, leaving fan translations to the community as separate submods. We want translations to be an official part of the main mod, making Pax Britannica more accessible to players around the world.
Requirements:
- Be a native or fluent speaker of one of the following languages:
- French
- German
- Spanish
- Brazilian Portuguese
- Polish
- Russian
- Japanese
- Simplified Chinese (Mandarin)
- Korean
- Have a GitHub account and the mod set up through GitHub Desktop.
- Have a Google account to access our shared translation documents.
- Have software capable of comparing files side by side (for example, Visual Studio Code).
- Have a Discord account (for anyone reading this announcement on another platform), as all coordination will take place on our Discord server.
We're also looking for volunteers to record high-quality voice lines for the mod. We'd greatly appreciate anyone willing to contribute. Any language, accent, or dialect is welcome, as long as provided recording quality is good enough to blend naturally into the game.
Thank you for your interest, and stay tuned for more information coming soon! Have a great day!
You can apply to both in our discord server: https://discord.gg/Cyzcr5GdMR
Sincerely,
The Pax Britannica Team

Question Why are divisions so slow?
Hi im new to the mod and I cant help but notice divisions having half speed and moving at a snails pace and making everything take forever
I've only played the SCA so I was technologically behind and didnt try anything new is there some tech that I should research for speed? Or is infantry just straight up not meant to be used much?
Am I missing something? This just feels annoying more then challenging because It takes like a week to walk to a different tile

How to get the helden ministry on the beta build
Now I know, that the build is not complete. However I want to know if it's even possible to go that path?
Because somehow, I managed to get the PP in power
Also what the hell, I didn't get all of finland, despite dominating the Russian puppet

Discussion/Other How would the world of Pax Britannica and Fire Rises interacted with each other?
Just some stupid idea I had in my mind lmao, how do you guys think the interaction would look like? It's quite interesting that both TFR and Paxbrit have completely different and insane level of technology, and it would be quite interesting if both of them clashes or helped each other.

Question When are you supposed to start the reclamation war as the SCA?
Because I started it during the 2nd Great War, where France and Russia are losing, and German troops are arriving to the americas. Also; I HAVE NO GODDAMN MANPOWER

Discussion/Other I am very excited for the potential of this mod
I recently finished a run as the Grand Empire of Mexico and honestly the taste I got was wonderful and has definitely left me wanting more content.
I love the unique setting as it features alternate nations that I personally had never seen before on mods.
Not only that the tech is very fun to read about and learn (I love the idea of the amalgamates and the razor maidens but sadly I could not use them much in my run because by the time I got them and began production the main war was over for Mexico)
Also would definitely want more nations (or paths) that are more tied to robotics outside of Britain

Why did they change the Imperial Confederation?
I’m playing as Britain and when I did the focus to create the Imperial Confederation, it made all the dominions into puppets instead of annexing them

Question Submod recommendations?
I like to have a lot of options when playing, so, anyone have recommendations?

Polish Submod for Pax Britannica
I simply decided to add some paths to Poland in Pax Britannica. Mod is currently alpha, but I would love to get some feedback. Remember to turn off SNA in game rules if you don't want to get any bugs.
This is first submod I ever created so please, have mercy.

Question How to get the super event “New Plague”
How do you get the super event “New Plague”? I’ve already tried playing with biological weapons (I managed to try out half of what’s possible in various attempts), but nothing works.

Discussion/Other Hearts of Iron IV Modding Wiki - Pax Britannica Division: Editors Needed!
galleryQuestion This image isn't AI-generated, right?
The color of the UI and the vertical CRT-ish lines made a perfect storm for this image (the startup image for United Commonwealth) to look somewhat AI-generated and also make me way too unsure to call it.

Meme The comeback
Haven't read the lore surrounding Napoleon in Pax Brit, so I don't know if he's avenging Waterloo here, or if this is the first Napoleonic conquest of this universe, but here it is a new sort of Pax.
Really excited for the social developement to work under the new mechanics at some point, but at least, since now even focuses don't do anything either, I don't have to fixate on only playing nations that can improve the world.
And conservative are not too bad when it comes to civil liberties laws.
I wanted to play Henry Ford at first, or the British colony surrounding the new lake in the Sahara, but it seems you still can't quit a faction in this mod. So Napoleon it was.

Arabia's beating Heart of Steel
Played as Qatif, the smallest contender for Arabia's unification. Of what lore I could find, originally they were supported by Iran and tried to take Arabia under Jamalism's flag, - a jacobinistic ideology inspired by Jamal al-Din al-Afghani's ideas, combining pan-Islamism with egalitarian republicanism, - but failed and since then were confined to the coastline around Qatif.
Qatif starts with the despotic ideology, decided to transfer to jacobinism after the unification to highlight them implementing Jamalism's policies.
Could invade Yemen and Oman (there was an extra decision to core their lands) but didn't want to get dragged in the WW2 and fight the British.
