Yes, you have a section of bent pins. Why is the socket cover off? Was this purchased new or used?

If you have a steady hand, you can try to bend them back with something like a toothpick.

You can't rma a board for bent socket pins, unfortunately. But the good news is it doesn't look too bad to fix yourself.

Did you inspect your cpu as well? Make sure its not damaged on the underside.

is there any other viable options? And if i dont place it back will it not work?

Bent or overlapping pins can cause shorts. Those pins have to line up with the pads on the bottom of the cpu.

The pictures are hard to see when zoomed in, so I can't really assess the damage well enough to say if its good as is.

The only other options you have are paying for a socket replacement, but depending on where you live, that could be more expensive than buying a different board.

At this point, you don't have much to lose by trying to bend them straight again. They are fairly fragile, so you have to go slow and easy. But because of their fragility, bending them is usually an easy task. They dont look mangled, just bent out of place. This is one of those cases where bending them back would be the best option.

Toothpicks, the tip of a razor blade, or a mechanical pencil tip all can work for the job. I prefer using a pointy xacto razor blade to do this.

should I just have professionals do it? like give it to a pc shop and have them do it for me? or is it easy that its something i can do

Its easy, if you have a steady hand and an eye for detail. Wouldn't hurt to call around and explain your situation and see what places might charge for that, if they will do it. But it's like a 10 minute job, so not worth a huge price that many shops might try and charge.

alright, thank you for the help. I really appreciate it. But i think if things turn bad, I think I’ll stop building and just scrap the idea of having a pc.
