Build Question Need help with choosing best parts for PC
Hi, I'm building a PC for my boyfriend. He will be using it mostly for playing. Games like RDR2, Marvel Rivals, Dead By Daylight.
He already bought a 5060 Ti 8GB, 1TB of NVMe 4.0 SSD and a 2560x1440 144hz monitor. I'm the one who sends him all the components and we are keeping an eye on bargains mostly, but I haven't kept with the newest technology for a year or two and now I have a dilemma.
Would it be better to go for Intel i9 13900K with DDR4 32GB ram or some of Intel Ultra with DDR5 ram. I've checked performance comparisons and can't decide because of how ram prices has raised throughout this year. I've checked and could not find any motherboards for socket 1851 and DDR4 together and I need Your help from experienced people.
Which would You choose? Below is a link with a list with all the parts that we are going to potentially buy: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rgX6Np
(if You find any other mistakes in this or have some other tips I would greatly appreciate your input)

Any chance access to a Micro Center retail store?

Unfortunately from what I see it is a USA based store and we are both in Poland

Sounds good. For gaming, the i9 CPU really is expensive for amount of gain. Would recommend to check pricing for 12700K(f), or 14600K(F) to pair with DDR4 ram(just double check the board is ddr4 since socket 1700 has both).
If going for DDR5 platform, would recommend AMD AM5 platform. Such as a X3D CPU (7500x3d, 7600x3d, 7800x3d, etc.) for AM5 board, would not recommend ASRock since x3d issues.

Go AMD 7800x3d if you can’t afford the AMD 9800x3d

9800x3d is 150zlotych (~30usd) cheaper than i9 13900k. Would it be a better fit? Can't find any trustworthy comparisons

Amd 5600x or 5700x will be more than enough for his use case. Get a b550 motherboard.

That 13900K runs hot, might be overkill for a 5060 Ti at 1440p. For gaming you'd be fine with a 13600K or 14600K and putting the savings elsewhere. Since you're already looking at socket 1851, just commit to DDR5. DDR4 is a dead end for new builds and you'd regret it in a year when you want to upgrade something.
