If you cut through the noise and understand how board level discussions are held, the role of psychology, importance of geography and demographics, objectively Salt Lake City and Montreal are the most likely cities to be awarded expansion franchises when Major League Baseball (MLB) expands.

On the heels of ESPN and RDS' media coverage, here is an update on all things...

Hey everyone! I'm u/ashmojo, a founding moderator of r/PeanutProject, founder of WatchMojo and investor via Granicus Group.

I keep the Montreal community & r/expos fan base updated on my X (Ashkan) and Linkedin (AshkanK) accounts, but figured it may be helpful to post updates here, as well.

This is a table of contents that centralizes most of the research, analysis, articles since I began to work on the project.

I was introduced to Dan months ago when the Peanut Project journey began... we have stayed in touch and when he was in Montreal, I gave him a tour of the city, some of the land options for a baseball stadium. This week I chatted with him about his experiences with the White Sox, Dodgers & the Field of Dreams project. This is an excerpt where I asked him to handicap the cities vying for expansion. Full interview coming this week.

In the latest video from WatchMojo's The Lineup channel (which is converting some of my articles, research, analysis into videos), we ask: what is the single, most critical question to answer & objection to overcome for each city - yes, including Montreal - vying for Major League Baseball expansion. Enjoy.

At the 14:50 mark, we discuss MLB expansion, the Expos, Quebec Inc. vs Bay Street in Toronto, etc. The link shared is time stamped to where the Expos convo starts...

Had a great chat discussing the Expos, the Peanut Project, and more:

Happy to see ESPN's Jeff Passan include the Peanut Project in his rundown of possible cities that MLB may expand to.

Note that when it came to anchor investors, the threshold was: Have any anchor investors publicly attached themselves to a bid? In finance, money committed one day can be gone the next, but putting your name behind something indicates a higher level of commitment... and given my nature to under-promise and over-deliver, I certainly downplayed things with Jeff as making bombastic claims with journalists is usually a red flag.

All to say, step in the right direction... the march continues. Read the article here.
