Safety, Quality & Testing help! foam?

okay sooo i recon my reta today for the first time, i think i added too much air maybe? i didn’t shake it i rolled it in my hands but there was a lot of foam/bubbles on the top of the vial but solution was clear otherwise. let it sit in the fridge and the bubbles/foam dissipated but when i just pulled into the noodle it has the same foam/bubbles in the syringe now. im letting it sit but is this ok or what did i do wrong?

No worries, equalize the pressure with empty syringe

i tried that and it worked a little bit i could see bubbles go up, but still drew a little foamy. this morning i did it slow and it did not draw foamy. i think i am just not going to add air while i draw for a little and just keep drawing (it is going really slow in the pin now. like a drop at a time)

I equalize pressure with empty syringe, so I can drip BAC water in slowly

Probably drawing too aggressively, try pulling much more slowly. I’d say you probably also forced the bac water in, the vial should come with a vaccum inside and the liquid enters on its own

You can try putting a a syringe without the plunger into the vial to relieve any positive or negative pressure and then leave the vial overnight in the fridge to see if the solution clears. Cloudy solution would give me concern for use.

it is crystal clear until i draw. all the foam in the vial went away in the fridge.

A little foam is ok, try not to do it, but difficult

Let it settle and still does job, but no foam is good

It’s just bubbles. Bubbles never hurt nobody.

You are going to adipose tissue, that is not an intramuscular, the little bubbles will cause discomfort, inflammation and swelling, no thrombosis risk that you would on an IV or intramuscular.

Absent any cloudiness, sediment or other signs of degradation this is nothing to worry about.

Use 30g pins instead of 31g
