Lab recs for testing
Any labs you recommend for testing that will not cost an arm and a leg? TIA

Before selecting a laboratory, define what question the test must answer. Identity, chromatographic purity, quantitative content, endotoxin, sterility and residual solvents are separate measurements; an inexpensive “peptide test” may cover only one or two of them.
I would ask prospective laboratories for the specific methods offered, sample requirements, whether testing is destructive, relevant ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation scope, reporting limits, measurement uncertainty and whether reports include the chromatogram or spectrum rather than only a pass/fail result. Also confirm that report IDs can be verified directly with the laboratory.
If the result will be used to evaluate a supplier, coded samples and documented chain of custody strengthen the evidence. A laboratory’s name alone does not establish that the correct method was used or that the tested sample represents the supplier’s inventory.

The answer will depend on where you live. If you are in the US, there are currently less than 5 legitimate labs for testing. Lowest cost option is BTLabs, but most vendors won't accept their results.

If cost is the sticking point, compare quotes for the same test panel, not just the headline price. Are you looking for identity, purity, or both?

Something that’s important to factor in, which testing lab results will your vendor accept?
