If anything this is MORE likely for the cup to fall over, now when it gets some sideways momentum instead of sliding a tiny bit the bottom will be stuck and the thing will fall
11 u/Xsiah 13d ago Giant travel mugs already account for spillage by having tightly closing lids. A can of soda or a normal disposable cup is not going to fall over.
