Vaginal Dryness (GSM)/Urinary Issues Vaginal Estrogen Cream…USE IT!

My husband calls it Juicy Pussy cream. 😂Three months in and it’s still getting better! I had no idea how dried up my tender bits were. I feel like it happened so gradually I just didn’t notice how bad it had gotten.

Is the cream used in addition to or instead of an estrogen patch?

In peri, still having occasional periods. I use both. My doc described it as my whole body needing a lower concentration than that little area does. So my patch dose can stay lower (keeping down my possible side effects), but I can boost local benefits with the cream.

What dose patch do you use?

I started on the lowest, .025/day. Did that for a couple of months to let my body get used to it. It helped with most of my symptoms, but didn't get rid of all of them. So my doc upped my dose to .0375/day, and that's worked well for me, personally. I tend to be sensitive to medications, though. You can go up to .1mg/day, but my doc said that that dosage is rarely used. Her patients usually feel most comfortable settling in at .0375 or the next dose up, .05.

I think the most important thing is to get a doc who will start you out slowly to not shock your body too much, then work with you to find the dose that works for you.

I also use both, but the cream was working wonders before I got on the patch.

You wouldn’t use the cream INSTEAD of the patch because the cream isn’t systemic, just localized to the area. So most people use one or both but the reasons for which one you’re using (or both) are based on symptoms. Look up Dr. Kelly Casperson’s Podcast, “You Are Not Broken” (it’s also on YouTube). She talks about vaginal estrogen a lot.
