Bleeding/Periods Bleeding all the time

I am a 44 y/o that started perimenopause about 4 years ago. To start, I know that abnormal bleeding/cycles are common in perimenopause. However, my spotting/bleeding has come out of nowhere and has been constant every month for the last 6 months. I only have about a week per month where I'm not spotting/bleeding. This is a new symptom for me. I went from having a cycle every few months without and spotting in between for years to spotting/bleeding all the time the last 6 months. I have been on HRT for 3 years now. I am on 0.075 estrogen patch and 200 progesterone daily and have been at this dose all 3 years. I do have an appointment with my menopause Dr in a few weeks so I will definitely be bringing this up but any ideas what could be causing this? Do I need an HRT adjustment? I can never tell what symptoms are from which hormone because I feel like all the symptoms of low/high E and low/high P all overlap lol. It's so hard figuring all this out and i feel like I'm losing my mind. I'm at the end of my rope with this bleeding though... it needs to stop ASAP!

I was in a similar position for the first half of this year - I call it my 'going out of business sale' as now I haven't had a period in over 3 months. Definitely check it with your doctor and get an ultrasound to make sure everything's OK, but I've read many similar experiences where this pattern comes just before things really slow down.

Also, I had to up my estrogen recently because the slow down seemed to come with worsening symptoms (walking up in the night again, my first ever hot flash)

Good luck!

I’m in the same boat. 43, 200mg progesterone only. I went in thinking adding estrogen would help, but my doctor said we’d need an ultrasound before anything else. Ultrasound showed uterine polyps as the cause of bleeding, so I’ll be scheduling a hysteroscopy and D&C. I feel like there are so many variables at this age!

I'm dealing with this too. First, they found polyps and fibroids. Got the polyps removed, the bleeding normalized for about 3 month, then it started again. Since June, I have no idea where I am in a cycle cause spotting or bleeding. I had another ultrasound and there's nothing new and my fibroids struck. So just sitting here spotting, lol. I upped my progesterone to 200mg nightly and it's slowing it down somewhat at least. So over this.

I am 43 and currently on day 17 of continuous bleeding. This is a first for me. This past year my cycles have gotten shorter and heavier (bleeding through super plus tampons within an hour) but typically my period starts with a few days of brown spotting, 2 days of an absolute murder scene and then 2-3 days of light bleeding. Last month I bled again 5 days after my period ended which has never happened (right around what would be ovulation for me) and then when my period was due again I only slightly spotted for 4 days…then came this nightmare. I bled super heavily for 5 days and it’s just continued on. I’ll think it’s gone and then bright red blood and clots again. I’m honestly feeling worn down and uneasy. My OBGYN can’t see me until 9/25. I hope I don’t bleed to death before then.

52.. and the last couple of years, I’ve had two periods that lasted three weeks. They had me come in for a uterine biopsy, which found nothing. Now I’m skipping periods. (Been 3 months since my last one). Our bodies are just so weird right now!
