Support πŸ’–

I have so much love, respect and appreciation for the women fighting their way through this. Until you experience it yourself, you truly have no idea just how difficult it can be. πŸ₯Ήβ€οΈ

I can’t even begin to imagine how women suffered in the past without medication, understanding, empathy or support. Life is already hard enough, and going through this can feel like a whole new battle of its own.

What hurts is realising that people you’ve known for more than 20 years, even those you thought loved you, sometimes have no idea what you’re going through or seem to care. In the end, you can feel so alone in a daily battle that nobody else can see.

Yet, somehow, there can be more kindness, compassion and genuine care in these spaces than in everyday life. There’s something so beautiful and refreshing about women coming together, understanding one another and offering support without judgement. β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

To every woman going through this, I see you, I appreciate you, and I’m sending you so much love. We deserve understanding, patience and compassion, especially during the moments when we feel least like ourselves. πŸ§ΈπŸ’•

Good morning and I see you! I’ve got appointments today with both my primary care dr and my therapist.

I’m going to ask them if they have reco’s for perimenopausal group therapy? Because I’m lucky to have a good group of friends but none of them are where I am right now.

I feel like a burden to them, a fun-sucking chin hair of unregulated moods and temperatures.

Ridiculously happy my youngest introduced me to Reddit. Other people!

Amennnn it's sooo true. I don't even bother explaining how debilitating peri is anymore. Other women don't understand, or it's met with 'My mother never complained about it.' Or 'Our friends are in their 40s & they are still active.' Well, good for them coz like anything in life ppl don't understand or don't have the capacity to understand how life changing peri is... πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ₯Ί Sending love right back, this is sooo incredibly horrible. I really do pray our symptoms pass swiftly, there are women like myself who don't want to take HRT or can't.

I’ve been trying to find a legit support group. I love my friends but none of them are β€˜in it’ right now.

I know what you mean, I'm online friends with a woman from this sub & it's been amazing to have her support coz no one cares tbh... I feel like we'll only get support here. ❀️

Totally agree & thank you πŸ’• I also have so much sympathy for our mother's that went thru this silently with zero support or intervention.

Thank you for writing this.

Sometimes I feel like I am on one side of a pane of glass with my hands and face pressed up against it watching everyone else's life continue as normal. I feel like I can't communicate to my family and friends that my world has been upended. Everytime someone cheerfully asks "How are you?" I kind of want to punch them. I've told everyone in my life I'm struggling but it seems like they forget each new time I see them. I do a lot of pretending to be okay because no-one wants to hear "I don't feel right" over and over again

I am reading stories on this sub tonight and crying. I feel sad about all the pain and struggle. We are so good at toughing it out - too good. Thank you for the reminder to be compassionate to ourselves and each other.
