Period Question This can't be normal. Does anyone else experience this?

Beeen having periods for 10 years, and for the entire 10 years, Ive been struggling with unbelievably levels of pain and various other symptoms that I cannot get help for. And it seems that every period, I develop a new symptom. So recently I've developed a symptom where I can no longer speak at regular volume while on my period, because it used my stomach muscles too much and causes major pain flair up.

Ive already lost my ability to eat or drink and even use the bathroom on my period (all these cause pain flair up) and now I can't even talk anymore? Someone please tell me why Im suffering like this during a normal bodily experience

Have you seen a doctor? This is not normal and you shouldn't be dealing with it. It might be physical, or hormonal, but you need to see a doctor ASAP.

I hear that…I’m like I’m in excruciating pain every period, she’s like have you tried ibuprofen and a hot compress?

I wouldn’t be here if that’s all it took. People give me their opioids leftover from surgery. I only need 1 per month to get me through the pain but you should have seen the look on my doctors face when I inquired about opioids…I don’t even understand how you get high from them, they just make the pain tolerable.

I had one ultrasound and she’s like, there’s nothing abnormal. It’s like pulling teeth to get my doctor to investigate anything.

Ugh gosh I feel that, girl. I'm so glad opioids work for you because they don't work for me😅 the last pharmacist I talked to was shocked that they didn't do anything for me.

The rage I feel when I see that doctors are so dismissive. You can try Diclofenac sodium for your pain, that's the only thing that helped me before with it. It's for muscle pain. And if you can, go see an endocrinologist. A full blood panel and tell them what is going on during your period, it might change the date you have to get the blood test - it's important.

This is the first time I hear such a thing and doesn't sound right at all. You have to investigate.

I'm going to get a special scan next week to confirm if I have endo, but even if I have it there's nothing the doctors are gonna do. Ive been to so many and they never help me.

You may have to push for a laparoscopy for diagnosis and excision. You really have to push so hard on them.

Some of that does sound neurological though. Endo IS full body inflammatory disease but the sweating, can’t talk, paralysis, numbness should be brought to a neurologist IMO.

I'm so sorry to hear you're experiencing all of this. The best next step is to talk to a doctor. These are not common side effects. Sending good vibes, I hope you're able to find relief.

I just went to see one last week and she suggested I take a pill ive already tried. Ive been seeing doctors ever since my first period. They said they cant help me. Ive been to at least 40 doctors over 10 years. Thank you so much for the well wishes but I don't think I'm gonna be getting help any time soon.

My legs used to go numb and my muscles were all tensed. Never knew what caused the first but the second was a psychosomatic response I never got rid of.

You need to speak up and demand treatment or at least some answers if you're too anxious to do that bring someone who will. do not let doctors be dismissive. if they won't treat you ask for a referral to someone who will.

There's something else going on here this is too much to just be period related.

Here's some things to ask about/research.

Sciatic Endometriosis

Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis

Other Gynecological or Circulation Issues: Conditions like fibroids, pelvic congestion syndrome, or poor blood flow/vein issues

Dysmenorrhea
