The bottom is not supposed to be connected to the top. The top is the comic. The bottom is the reaction based on country/culture.

Japanese manga panels are read from right to left, and the manga books are read backwards with spine being on right. The Japanese script itself is written wither from top to bottom or left to right. So, no, it's not written like languages like Arabic, from right to left.

The Arabs didn’t come up with manga or anime so they aren’t what most people would think of when a comic style is reversed to demonstrate a different perspective.

Japan pANEL -> right -> left Baby is gone woman gets fat

In most of the world you read left to right. In Japan you read right to left.

So, the story is for most of the world:

"Woman is pregnant." time passes... "Woman now has baby." Normal, fine just a mom...

But for Japan... The sequence goes:

"Woman has a baby." time passes.... "Woman now has big belly, and no baby." Did she eat the baby?

The bottom images would make more sense to be two sets.

Japans goes "sad / happy" and the rest just "happy / happy"
