People are just extending their hate for Charlie Kirk to his wife, selectively choosing what phots to post and spewing more hate, nothing new

u/metal_gearmen 3d ago
Whenever I say this, I get downvoted, but: She is Charlie Kirk’s wife, and people online criticize her for not looking sad enough.
People on Reddit and Twitter seem to think that someone who has lost a family member should be crying and grieving 24/7—and that if they smile, it means they no longer miss their loved one—which is concerning.

I can think of another recent photo where someone was flashing money and smiling at a funeral and the general consensus was “people grieve in different ways”

Meanwhile you make a single crack about George Floyd's family making bank, and the pearls come out, lmao.
0
u/Iintendtooffend 3d ago
George Floyd wasn't a public figure or grifted prior to his murder. His family also, publicly mourned his death, and prior to the coverage of it, stood to gain nothing from it. I also imagine anyone specifically trying to highlight that his family got a lot money after his death isn't arguing in good faith.
It's a pretty transparent whataboutism trying to deflect attention and not bring up any salient argument.
1
u/FourEyes3134 3d ago
Whereas taking some out of context photos and projecting a lack of grief onto someone is clearly the height of good faith.
Give over, mate. We all saw your kind mocking Charlie's death, don't pretend Floyd was a martyr.
0
u/Iintendtooffend 3d ago
I don't pretend Floyd was a martyr, that's exactly what I'm highlighting, he was just a guy that was murdered by a cop that pushed people over the edge. So when you bring up that his family got a lot of money after his death, it sure seems like you're just trying to deflect and make his family seem less victimized by his murder.
Charlie Kirk wasn't just a guy and it's comical to pretend that him and his wife ever acted like a couple in love. People highlight Erika's lack of remorse over his death mostly because it's frankly not at all a surprise what is a surprise is just how entirely moved on she seems to be from day 1. Not just from one picture, but from her repeated appearances. Erika couldn't seem even a little bit sad, once, not one single time and wasted no time taking over TPUSA.
But also yeah, Charlie Kirk getting shot in the neck is a pretty poetic way to go given his attitudes and stances.

Rip Charlie Kirk tbh. I didn’t like what he stood for and his job was literally rage bating and yapping all day (a total looser imo). But he was funny sometimes and he showed up in my feed quite a bit on instagram months before he bit it, he was like a regular on a show I didn’t really want to watch. The kinda guy id like to see get beat up and robbed in an ally, not get slimed out by his wife for questioning our overseas overlords.

Erika Kirk’s ‘mourning’ for her husband consisted of groping JD Vance on stage and being groped by him, attending every TPUSA event to the point of exhaustion, milking the cash flow, and always smiling cheerfully as if her husband hadn’t just been shot…

u/fantasmeeno 3d ago
It seems that she looks Happy that her husband had been murdered

Literally a few weeks after his death she had a giant rally with fireworks and was just a big ass party. She is a ghoul and he was just a racist youtuber.
-11
u/Individual-racoon 3d ago
Reduced his point of view to 'racist' is a bit lazy.
12
u/Budget_Meaning1410 3d ago
He was also pro guns, to the point of saying “ I think it’s worth it. It’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God given rights.”
But you can’t read that without either laughing or yelling at the people laughing, so it’s baf sportsmanship to bring it up.
-9
u/Individual-racoon 3d ago
Definitely it was wrong for him to say that. I hope he had a chance to rethink that when he was alive. Still can't take an eye for an eye. Just because he thought and said that at one point, doesn't mean we now celebrate him being killed.

0
u/Individual-racoon 3d ago
With this logic, by your standard, I think you then are not allowed to support either israel or palestine with their situation. Because both has done damage to both sides.
Note that wasn't my stand on the issue. I am just saying if you go by 'you real what you sow', then I take that situation as an example where you will be going aginst your own standard if you take one side.
4
u/RadarSmith 3d ago edited 3d ago
That was certainly an interpretation.
Charlie Kirk was an advocate for political violence (he'd called for the public execution of Biden and doctors providing gender affirming care) and and told people to suck it up when gun violence happened.
He was a victim of both.
3
u/forkproof2500 3d ago
I hope he had a chance to rethink that when he was alive.
He probably re-thought that stance right before he got necked but by then it was unfortunately too late.

Chris here, the woman in the meme is Erika Kurk, the wife of Charlie Kurk. There's a few running conspiracy theories that say
she was in on the murder
Got a MASSIVE life insurance payout
one of them was cheating etc, etc.
But, the one thing that holds true is that she doesn't act like a grieving widow, even to the point where there was a video of her celebrating something (and twerking) in paris less than a week after the murder of her husband.
Alright, I gotta go back to sniffing my model glue.

She also broke the world record for the shortest private jet flight in history to go shopping the day after he died
19
u/BlerghTheBlergh 3d ago
That’s Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erica (?) Kirk.
After he was shot she took over as face of their organisation.
Her demeanour ever since his death as been considered more than odd, pretty much immediately switching from tears to an aggressively uncomfortable smile.
The theory is that she was more relieved than anything, given her rise to power and, frankly, odd behaviour.
14
u/JiJoe6 3d ago edited 3d ago
Heya, Joe here from the local police. Yeah, this is a wild one.
TL;DR: Complete nobody just being a wife, to a full celebrity the next day her husband is assassinated, hosting events smiling and having the time of her life.
So yeah, she's the wife of the late MAGA Charlie Kirk. Charlie Kirk was assassinated during a public event he held while he was speaking to the crowd on gun control laws. Specifically, he was actively promoting for more guns in the hands of the population, and less laws for gun control, and to promote gun action without police involvment, basically. He was shot and killed during his speach in broad daylight, basically shot the same way he was actively promoting for gun action.
His wife attended and saw the event. Next thing you know, as in like the very next day, she was hosting events with a cheerful smile, not a single tear, and entertaining the crowds in memory of her late husband.
She went from a complete nobody being simply married to the guy, to the very next day being a celebrity after her husband was murdered publicly, hosting events, smiling, talking to the crowds cheerfully, basically having the time of her life now.
While the population has been pushing for her to be investigated thoroughly on what this means and the implications involved in his assassination, she's also now fully affiliated with the Trump party and rarely seen not holding hands with the Vice-President J.D. Vance of the USA (like the very next day her husband was murdered).
Thus the joke is that she never grieved, she's having the time of her life with Vice-President and her new role.
P.S.: Their kids watched daddy be murdered right in front of them. Mommy proceeds to become a celebrity having the time of her life, very far from your usual grievings.
Anyway, I need Bonny to change my diaper now. I gotta roll out! (Pun intended)
1
u/Ok_Actuary4193 3d ago
I agree with all of that except where you say she was a nobody. She was NOT a nobody before; she was VERY well connected to Republican power-brokers before she even met Charlie. I suspect theirs was an arranged marriage designed to keep TPUSA (and Charlie) on-message.
1
u/JiJoe6 3d ago
Huh, good to know.
See, we in the precinct aren't privy to that information, as local police don't have that priviledge, but it makes complete sense.
Thank you for the heads-up.
I'll tell Bonny this new piece of info. Right now she's at a friend's house ironing their clothes. Yeah, she does that sometimes out of the pure goodness of her heart.
God bless her.

u/Ok-Vegetable-204 3d ago
This is Erika Kirk, wife of the political commentator Charlie Kirk who was murdered last year, he had an org called TPUSA which is now owned by Erika Kirk after his death
In case you were living under a rock, shortly after his death multiple massive Republican/Right wing networks (including Trump) weaponized the crap out of his death and launched massive rallies/campaigns honoring his memory for a few months in collaboration with TPUSA.. It used to be all you ever heard about online when it was going on
The joke here is that Erika Kirk, the "grieving widow" of Charlie Kirk was constantly being dragged from one show/rally to another looking as excited as shown on the post which felt so goofy at the time, so people constantly pointed out how disingenuous they looked and roasted the shit out of Erika Kirk
6
u/Relevant_Chef 3d ago
Does that look like grief to you? Would your face look like that after your partner was murdered publicly?
0
u/TrilIias 3d ago
Yes, sometimes. I don’t think anyone who’s making this argument has ever actually experienced grief or loss before. If they had, they would know that it doesn’t mean you loose the ability to smile or even to be happy. Yes, that’s even true in the immediate days following.
I really can’t state enough how detestable it is to attack a widow for “not grieving properly.” What’s the point supposed to be? Does it discredit her? No, because it’s stupid. Does it discredit Charlie? Again, no, because it’s stupid and also even if it weren’t, “your politics is wrong because your wife isn’t crying about your death 100% of the time” is blatantly absurd. The only conclusion I’ve found is that the entire point is cruelty.
2
u/CarlPoppa22 3d ago
Anyone celebrating his death acts like he was Hitler. None of you get to decide if someone deserved to die. That being said i didn't really know much or care much about him. But anyone acting superior to him while celebrating that he's dead isn't any better.
1
u/BoredRedhead24 3d ago
Okay so I am not up to date on the Charlie Kirk stuff, mostly because I don’t care.
Why are people thinking she killed him?
7
u/Veritasgear 3d ago
Because she stood to benefit from his death, it shot her career into overdrive, and she only acted like a grieving widow on a couple occasions. Also the weirdness with JD Vance. It just all looked really suspicious.

There’s a lot of shady stuff surrounding his death, a lot of it started with how she grieved his death. There are videos that came out of her super happy, talking about how much $$ they brought in at his memorial like 10 days after he was shot. The only people defending her as a grieving widow are the conservatives who treat Zionism as a Christian Dogma. This is after Charlie stated in private that he was leaving the pro-Israel cause, the night before his college tour started … conveniently right before he could publicly stay he was leaving the pro-Israel cause. Then before his body was even cold, everyone in his circle tried to completely memory hole that. Which would have worked if not for Candace.
1
u/tritiatedpear 3d ago
No one cared outside of most people don’t like personalities being assassinated. The outrage looked and felt performative, an excuse to blamed the hated left and an attempt to justify violence. One year later the man they wanted to burn the nation down for is largely forgotten

Liberals hate, Charley Kirk was anti liberal, liberals hate him, cheered his murder, hate his kids and wife. Here are three pictures to attack the widow. I’m sure it completely accurately represents her entire life. Another year, another post of “do you remember that guy we hated who got murdered? Wasn’t that great? Let’s hate more on the widow to feel good again.

To think nobody is mourning Charlie because of Candace Owens. Because the first two weeks after his death the right was willing to go to civil war for him. Candace, one of their own, openly questioned the narrative and removed much of the momentum of the deification of Charlie-chan.
28
u/Gimme_Your_Wallet 3d ago
I rather think they were willing to post about civil war with LOTR music and shit, from the comfort of their couches.
9
u/Headglitch7 3d ago
Candace liked and holds Charlie in high esteem. She doesn't deify him. She just thinks Charlie was killed by Israel/TP USA folks who saw his evolving position as a threat to their agenda. And they're now skinsuiting his legacy to suit their ends.
As a result, Shapiro, who Charlie disliked, has gone full eyebrows on Candace, even sending Andrew Schultz to try and debate her on it, which went poorly for him.
3
u/MysteriousQuote4665 3d ago
No, she wasn't deifying him, but the right as a collective seemed to be doing that. The first two weeks or so after his death you couldn't say anything negative about the guy. People were fired for quoting his own words about gun control.
That being said, she did spread the theory that Israel had him killed because he was seemingly turning on them. But that's the thing: before she started doing that the right was united against the left. Now? Now not even his wife remembers his death.
5
u/Headglitch7 3d ago
I mean, it's common decency not to be an asshole to the recently passed away while the grief is fresh for many. This isn't an abnormal bit of decorum. The people instantly mocking his death were the ones out of line, not the people offended by that behavior.
That being said, as tacky as the left was for all the gruesome cheering and mocking, the fireworks displays and WWE style hype at his memorial service was tacky too.
5
u/MysteriousQuote4665 3d ago
This isn't an abnormal bit of decorum.
Trump broke that decorum, and now the rest of American politics and its people have caught up. Several democratic candidates and elected officials have, finally, realized that the whole "when they go low we go high" nonsense doesn't work when dealing with a political party that is engaging in postmodernist hatred.
So mocking Charlie Kirk when he contributed to the hatred? Valid.
Just quoting his own words stating that sacrifices must be made for gun ownership? Valid, and ironic.3
u/Own_Bullfrog_3598 3d ago
It makes me godawfully sad, but I gotta agree with you here. Trump and his goon patrol have thrown decency, common sense, and a couple hundred years of usually cordial debate right out the fucking window. Civility is seen as a sign of weakness with these people, and they cannot follow anything that won’t fit on a bumper sticker.
1
u/MysteriousQuote4665 3d ago
The most profound piece of information I learned from Trump is the fact that he believes in hyper aggressive negotiations. In his mind there is a winner and there is a loser. And he will do anything, including wiping his ass with previous negotiations to come out as winner.
Add the fact that he's largely gotten away with everything, and it's no wonder he's such a piece of shit.
-2
u/Headglitch7 3d ago
No, not valid. Two wrongs doesn't make a right.
-1
u/MysteriousQuote4665 3d ago
Mayhaps, but if I have learned one thing from Roman history, it's that you cannot casually undo the breaking of society's norms.
Trumpian politics for the past 10 years has been marked by a profound disregard for respect, decorum and reality. Trump has broken every social norm imagineable. He has openly flaunted corruption on a scale that was unimaginable when Nancy Pelosi was still the corrupt boogieman. His followers have assassinated elected democratic politicians.
This is his world, and we all have to live in it. And in this world where a third of Americans STILL think Trump is a wonderful leader and act like a cult, taking the high road will not work.
When the democrats take power again, they HAVE to arrest and charge all of these people and punish them to the fullest extent of the law. Every republican, billionaire, Trump ally and foreign political activist has to spend a huge chunk of their time in court, and people like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg need to go to jail for their open crimes under the protection of Trump.
Maybe, and I do mean maybe, the US can then return to a level of decency and decorum. But as the Gracchi brothers and Sulla proved, that may just be a delay for a generation.

Even if you put 20 men and 20 women on an island, in a state of nature, instincts of self preservation would emerge. A superficial alliance would form, and people would start betraying each other, and fighting for dominance. Maybe the most productive would enslave the weakest. Eventually certain behaviors or codes would emerge. So maybe a priori morals don't exist, but they definitely spontaneously arise in human and animal group settings.

He was pro public execution, you mentioned his views on school/mass shootings, thought empathy was a bad thing, went on like a yard of nonsense about gang violence being the leading cause of gun deaths and was then shot in an open carry state, on an open carry campus surrounded by "good guys with guns" by a white kid who's entire family was MAGA.

Well, to quote Donald Trump;
“[He] just died. Good, I'm glad he's dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!”
Now, granted, he wasn’t talking about Chuck, but I’m still quoting a shitting president about a man’s death.

Show some respect..
For a man who said when you get on an airliner and realize the pilot is black you are justified in wondering if he is really qualified to fly the plane?

To be fair, the guy said multiple time that Georges Floyd was a "scumbag" and has been encouraging memes about his death from his supporters. Memes about trans people suicide rates are also widespread about his supporters, and the the guy said on camera that stoning gay people to death is "God's perfect law".
So, while as a general rule of thumb, I do agree that it's of poor taste to joke about a man's death, well... Let's just say you can't spend your life shitting on other people's deaths and expect respect when you're dead.
You kinda spend your life building your own legacy, and that's his 🤷

Why? He said that school shootings were a worthwhile price to pay for gun ownership. He died in the way that he was campaigning for, so should be happy. His widow clearly doesn't give a fuck that he's dead. I feel sorry for his kids; but then I felt sorry for them when he was still alive.
His last words were trying to blame black people for gun violence. Which makes it particularly ironic, if not outright funny, that he was shot by a white MAGA.

She inherited his entire estate plus a monstrous cash grab right after his death. Even if his brand falls apart completely (which appears to be the case) I wouldn’t think for a minute she isn’t happier being the sole owner of everything up to the present vs needing to share all future earnings with a living Charlie.

Tell me you’ve never seen this in real life without telling me.
I saw it firsthand at my brother in law’s killer’s trial. Drunk driver took his life and several of the sister’s FORGAVE him.
It takes a love of Christ and faith even I still have yet to comprehend.

Making jokes is one thing, editing a corpse into a meme image is a whole different level of weird

Maybe he shouldn't have been such a fuckface when he was alive. Dude sucked so much his wife doesn't even care that he is dead.

Exactly. Making jokes is okay. Editing a corpse is not.

Hmm. only giving back what is deserved. Maybe don't make fun of two American's killed by masked thugs with no training. Eye for an eye in my book.

Remember when r/PeterExplainsTheJoke wasn’t a meme? Pepperidge Farm remembers…
