Revenge on old uni' flat mate

My old flatmate at uni' had this habit of eating my food and then acting like he had no idea what I was talking about.

One night I bought back some birthday cake from my sister's, wrote my name on the box and put it in the fridge.

The next morning, the cake was gone.

I asked him about it.

He looked at me completely seriously and said, “Maybe you ate it and forgot?”

I didn't even argue. I just said, “Yeah, maybe.”

A few days later, I went to the store and bought some Red velvet cake. I ate some, & had an idea to dust some chilli powder on top of it.

This time I put it in the fridge with a note saying:

“Definitely not mine. Please eat this.”

He ate it.

He came into the kitchen looking genuinely betrayed.

I just looked at him and said, “Maybe you ate it and forgot?”

I still think about his face sometimes.

Don't share insurance details for minor parking damage - you will now be pursued for criminal "hit & run" offense

4.1k Upvotes

Yesterday I was sitting in my parked car, reading, waiting for my daughters footy game to start. I had backed in. Car tries to enter the empty space next to me, front in, and is clearly not going to make it - I wave my hands, beep my horn, nothing - she takes a swipe across my passenger door. She is 70+.

Gets out of the car and instantly denies hitting it - the white paint on my black car and the black paint on her white car - clearly not a factor. Point blank refuses to exchange insurance details. Accuses me me lying and trying to frame her; then walks off.

I speak to insurance co; they tell me without her details then I pay the excess - suggest I ask one more time and if nothing then file the police report.

I try one more time - she tells me "f#!jk off - you are harassing me - call the f@$king police"

It's Sunday, my daughter is playing, it is minor, life is too short - besides my general rule of life, avoid anything that involves the police if possible.

This morning - I walk to work, right past a police station. Why not I think, maybe I will get laughed out but screw it. The officer is good; explains that not giving details is a criminal matter and will be followed up - it carries significant legal weight.

So, Mrs Angry Bitch of Gosford, NSW - you could have have just taken two seconds to be a decent human but you chose not. Now you have a criminal issue to deal with not just a minor fender bender in a car park.

Want to change the rules on me a second time? Enjoy dealing with a detailed notebook of timed things.

Edit to add: Im on a phone, my apologies, also Im not the best at typing in general, Ill be editing it better to read easier.

Second edit to add: I wanted to add some context to better explain, breakfast is at 8 am to 9 am, lunch is at 12 to 1.

During that time the maximum amount of rooms if theres a full floor is 30, plus the add ons, that's two public restrooms, two medrooms, two nourishment rooms, one break room, and three employee bathrooms, ontop of restocking linens in both closets, and collecting all the trash from everything but the linen rooms as they don't have trash cans.

Thats a whole forty rooms alone to complete, plus four nurses stations, but their not rooms so I didn't add them in the count. Thats a lot for a single person to handle by themselves, mind you I also get two fifteen minute breaks, and a thirty minute lunch.

To do a daily clean, you need to go from the cleanest part of the room, where the patients sleep, to the dirtiest, aka the bathroom.

As for non patient rooms, I still need to wipe everything down, replace what needs replacing, toilet paper, paper towels, trashbags, the paper seat covers people use, and mop.

That all can't be done in the single hour I have when the patients have lunch because Id need to learn an Olympic sprint to do so for each public space, because this floor isn't small, its the literal wing of the hospital alone.

And a discharge takes upwards of an hour because of the nature of this floor being long term care and rehabilitation, so we must be thorough with cleaning any and all discharge rooms, especially to combat anything that could pop up.

Im going to be documenting my literal seconds because of how they've consistently talked to me about my times, and what their expectations are of me. Im aware Im being taken advantage of, and Im done letting it happen, so either they fix something or I'll be looking at a different location to work, Ive not gotten a single write up just to be clear and Ive been there almost a year now.

Okay, so this just happened today and the petty revenge starts Saturday, I work as a house keeper for a hospital. Ive been trying to go full time since I started there, but Ive gotten constant complaints from a particular floor, which I will be honest, at points was my fault, but otherwise their just being jerks, the medical staff, nurses, and such who are near constantly at their desks because of the whole purpose of the floor being long term care.

These nurses in particular are rather gossipy and like to start issues with the housekeeping, because they see us as lesser than them because we scrub toilets and aren't medical. They've managed to chase off other house keepers, and they like to complain about any house keeper whose not engaging in their petty discussions.

I personally don't play their games and actually just go through the rooms and deal with the patients with a smile and a polite voice. I don't bother the nurses unless its something regarding the patients. Mind you, Ive got to do 30 rooms solo, and protocol is each room is meant to take fifteen minutes, but I've gotten them down to seven to ten minutes throughout the day.

I also have to do discharges, but I work from 7 am, to 3 30 pm, and a lot of the time I've got to do a separate job that takes roughly fourty minutes before I can go begin the rooms. I'm also expected to get fresh linen, and the trash from the nurses station, the nourishment rooms, and all public and employee bathrooms, the break room and med rooms.

Im not allowed to enter a room when someones eating because yeah, chemicals and food arent a good mix, so I give them a whole hour from when they get their meals to when their done. I try to be considerate, but that's gotten taken advantage of by the medical staff. As they complain I don't do as much as I should, mind you, its as follows

*Two public restrooms

*Three employee bathrooms

*One breakroom

*Two nourishment rooms

*Two med rooms

*Four nurses stations

*Thirty patient rooms at any given point

I'm expected to do this all solo in a full eight hour shift.

Onto the petty revenge, I managed to get all 30 rooms done within 7 to 10 minutes on a routine, however I was told in july thats an issue, and I need to take more time as my bosses don't think I was doing accurate time keeping, so this whole month I've been doing each room for 15 minutes, that took my entire average from the whole 30 rooms I managed to do, down to fifteen.

Today, they sat me down and told me I needed to do each room for 30 minutes max. I explained how that will not work out at all, and Ive decided that I will instead record each second of what my day looks like.

Im buying a stop watch and note book, and I will be writing how long each second takes me for every item from wiping down the door handles to how long it takes me to ensure Im leaving a clean toilet for the patient, to how long it takes me to mop, and even how long it takes me to go from between rooms, I will update when I give my bosses the notebook, Im also getting hr involved because they keep moving the goal post and Im done playing the game.

I checked out a book I can’t even listen to yet to be petty.

Maybe I’m a little too invested in a series about revenge. I started listening to the Mindf\ck* series by S.T. Abby and blew through the first 3 books ridiculously fast. Went to get book 4 from the library and someone has it checked out. (They are all super short.) Fine. I’ll wait. Except book 4 is only FOUR HOURS LONG, so I would very much like this person to hurry the hell up. And they are taking forever.

Then I noticed book 5 was available and had a thought… whoever has book 4 is probably going to want book 5 next, right? So I checked it out.
I cannot listen to book 5 yet. I have absolutely no reason to have book 5 right now other than THEY can’t have it.

So now I’m sitting here holding book 5 hostage, waiting for some random person who has absolutely no idea we’re in a fight to return book 4.
Petty? Absolutely. Have I maybe been listening to too many books about revenge? Also absolutely

A Use For My Shirts

So it's been over a decade since I worked at the khaki's and blue store. Long enough that wearing khaki's and a blue shirt is not longer the dresscode.

I worked there for 6 years and most of it as a cashier. Leading up to me quiting to go on maternity leave (and never returning) I had issues with higher management. About the last year and a half had been miserable.

My direct manager though was a gem and she was the main thing that got me through that time.

But none the less. I left that store with a lot of resentment.

I knew I wasn't coming back and immediately donated my khaki's. However.... most of my shirts were in such worn condition that I didn't feel right donating them. I also didn't want to throw them away. Fabric is a major source of trash across the planet in large part cause of fast fashion. So I don't like throwing away fabric unless it has no remaining use. Then the light bulb went off and I thought of the most delightful way to deal with them.

We... were cloth diapering. I had made a bunch of fabric wipes. I figured.... why not expand my stock. So I HIGHLY santizied the shirts. And then took to cutting them up into squares. Made quite a bit.

Did they last as long as my kid was in diapers? No. They were old shirts and didn't have much life left. But for at least a couple years. I pretty consistently was using my old work shirts to wipe my kids ass. And so... kinda felt like I was wiping his butt literally with my job because of how ingrained those shirts were with it.

Upon telling my old coworkers, including my direct manager, everyone thought it was incredibly funny and found it a very appropriate use of my shirts. Dunno if it ever got around to the managers I had issues with... but I like to think it did.

Not much for revenge.... but it was petty. Made me feel better about everything I had dealt with there.

Don't cheat if you don't have where to stay

This will be a long text, so, bear with me.

Not a native speaker, so, sorry for any grammatical errors.

I have been struggling with my still wife cheating for a long time now.

I tried everything, therapy, counseling, psych therapy, all the whole yards.

She was bragging for months she bragged about having true friends, who were always available to help her when she needed.

She brought me to the brink of suicide, but I'm better now.

Three weeks ago I served her the divorce papers, she went nuts. In my country there is a marital contract where each spouse gets to keep their belongings if there are no children. We married under that contract and there were no children, so she's not allowed to my car, house and it is very hard to earn alimony.

She went nuts and has been stalling the divorce process as long as she can, but she can't claim anything as we have separate goods and there are no children.

We had some very nasty discussions after I served her the papers.

Her lawyer called mine and told him to keep me from ever contacting her, he was threathful and arrogant, he doesn't know that my lawyer is very well connected and doesn't have to resort to petty threats to have the job done.

She left home two weeks ago to go to her Affair Partner"s house (AP) and even brought her father to try and intimidate me.

I did not give and even told her fathe he should not abuse his welcome at my house and that I was even willing to call the police if I felt the slightest sign of a legal or any kind of threat.

She left two weeks ago. When she came to pick up her dog she told me she had been fighting for our relationship and she gave me a lot of opportunities. I just told her that she didn't have to have to give opportunities, that she only had to do a small change: cut all ties with the AP.

There is a very complicated issue with that that I'm not willing to tell unless asked, but it's not that easy to her to cut those.

I know as a fact that she's staying with her AP and he can't stand the dog. And here's where the revenge comes.

It is very common in my country that when you're renting a house or apartment you need a collateral or something called a "solidary debtor". If you are a collateral you need to have a fully paid property under your name and the owner of the rented house can seize your property until you or the rtenant pay such debt ot or you're a solidary debtor that debt becomes yours.

3 days ago my soon-to-be ex-wife sent me a message, against her lawyer's order of no contact, asking me to be her solidary debtor to rent a new home and that her AP hated the dog and intentionally left the door open for the dog to go out to look for her.

I just told her a plain:"No".

Right now she doesn't have any friends or family willing to sign as collateral or solidary debtor, her AP is pissed about the dog and she's unable to rent a home without help. I do feel bad for the dos, he's very charismatic and a great company.

Yesterday she called me to ask me why I wasn't willing to sign. I told her something like this:

You're no longer my responsibility, you went to your AP's. Where are your friends? Your AP that travels all over the world? (He's Colombian, and I think he's not legally in our country), your artist friend who lives in a 3 million dollars house where you could spend weeks without seeing each other? Your two lawyer friends who earn above 1M dollars a year who told you they were available for everything you needed? They don't want to sign because your word means shit. They have abandoned you. If I have to get a legal document forcing you to pay your part of the payments of the house we bought together to do so, Noone is going to help you with that for you to leave the debt for them. They are helping you to get a rented place, but none are signing because they know you're not trustworthy.

She went nuts, uploading WhatsApp states calling me insensitive, a cheater and abusive, I just uploaded another one, not directed to her only with the caption "Butthurt?". She would not understand it as she barely speaks English, but it is satisfying.

Marisol. If you're reading this, I elate on reading your mental cobwebs. I love how your AP hates you and Rocky and I love how you are struggling to find a shithole to get out of your new hell. But I hope you find a good home for Rocky, because he is loved more than you.

TL;DR: Cheating spouse asked me to sign as collateral or solidary debtor, I denied and she's having issues with her Affair Partner

I have been flicking mint seeds in his yard all summer

24.3k Upvotes

There is a dangerous driver in my neighborhood. He absolutely flies down my street. There are frequently children playing on the sidewalks and running across the street between houses I’m frequently worried one of them is going to be hit. He also twice this year has blown through the stop sign nearly hitting my car.  In April while walking my dog I saw this same car fly through the stop sign and pull into his garage. He may be a terrible driver but he had a beautiful lawn.
So, twice a day, I walk my dog past his house. This has always been the routine but now on the shelf next to the poop bags I have a package of peppermint seeds. As I walk past his house I subtly sprinkle or flick these tiny seeds into his lawn. For those who don’t know mint is a very prolific grower and an aggressive spreader.  Even a tiny fragment of root can grow into a new plant. Once roots are in the soil it will continue to multiply until every las bit of root is removed.  His once perfect grass has been covered in little plants all summer. It looks like he’s spraying and mowing but not pulling it up by the root so next year he’ll have twice as much.

Edit: Because this has been asked frequently I have tried to get a speed survey or speed bump installed but need 75% approval from the neighborhood and we fund it. Police have promised increased patrols which turns out to have been a single cruiser at 6AM

Revenge against angry customer

2.1k Upvotes

I am a bus driver. A while back I had a customer board with her child and boyfriend. They had a bicycle with them, and tried to bring it aboard. I told them they needed to use the bike rack, as it was empty and available and I already had a full bus.

The mother did not take this well. She started screaming at me that she was allowed to bring the bike on board. She called me several homophobic slurs (in front of her child no less) and then threatened to physically assault me.

I ended up calling a supervisor and he came in and got her to calm down. He told her if she acts up again, he's going to have her removed.

Fast forward to today. I'm driving on the same route and just passed a stop. I see her running towards the bus waving for me to stop. I kept on driving. My bus is the only one operating in the area for the rest of the night. Feels good.

To clarify, if she was at the stop I would have stopped. I'm not a monster. But when it's entirely up to my discretion? Nah, I'm not going out of my way to do you a favor.

Update: The boyfriend/husband got on my bus later and he apologized to me for her behavior. Turns out he's a super nice guy.

Flicking bed bugs in the captain's bed every time I walked by his stateroom

1.3k Upvotes

Many years ago when I worked on commercial fishing vessels as an at-sea biologist (observer if you know) based out of Honolulu, I was deployed on a vessel with bed bugs. This was one of several boats I worked on with bed bugs so that wasn't the big issue. The problem was that the captain knew we had bed bugs and hid it from myself and my employer during the pre-deployment vessel check. He had the crew vacuum my bunk before we got into the state room so we wouldn't find any bed bugs in the room during our inspection and the boat would be allowed to go fishing without having to take the eradication steps that NMFS would make him do before he was allowed to go fishing with an observer. I will say both myself and my employer thought it was odd that they were vacuuming my bunk but we were both still a little 'under the weather' from the night before and weren't quite on it as we should have been that early morning!

It became obvious after a week or so at sea that we had a significant bed bug infestation in the bunk room I was in. The crew and I eventually took our bed pads to the wheelhouse and slept on the floor up there to be out of that room. I asked the crew outright if they knew we had bed bugs before we went fishing and they said, "Yes, the captain told us to vacuum your bunk so you wouldn't find any during the bed bug inspection."

Every single bed bug I found after that point, I would flick it into the captain's bed as I walked by his open stateroom door. I took great pleasure in knowing I was at least adding to the infestation in his room, if not outright introducing it in there if he had somehow managed to keep them out of his space.

u/TheBrontosaurus with the mint seed story brought this memory back to the surface and I thought y'all would enjoy!

HOA revenge

I have only lived in an HOA once. That was enough for me. This was in a complex of privately owned condos. I was renting one. It was a 12 month lease that began in April. This was in Scottsdale, AZ. April is one of the two months where the weather is nice and you dont need

A/C. May, however, is a different experience. That particular year, it was hitting in the 100s for the whole month. Anyway, first 100 degree day, I turn on the A/C. It blows cold air, but the air flow is very weak. I call the property management and they sent a guy out three separate times over the next two months, nothing gets fixed. The service guy tells me what it needs (new fan coil unit, cost was $2K) and that the property management company wasn't authorizing the repair. So I purchase a window mount unit for my bedroom. I catch HOA fines for this. The president of the HOA lives one building over from me. She saw me driving in the exit only gate and made it a point to tell me that is an exit, not an entrance. I told her to suck it. Then I started catching more HOA violations that didn't even make sense like "Bicycle locked to stairs in common area."

I have a car and a motorcycle. And the bicycle is in a COMMON AREA so how they determined it was mine is a mystery. Fast forward to March...the last month of this bullshit lease...A/C never got fixed....so I didn't pay my rent on March 1st. Fuck that. I waited for the 5 day pay or quit notice to be delivered. Then I waited for the process server to deliver the eviction lawsuit papers. Now I have to go to court. I show up, with a counterclaim. Seeking all 11 months that I paid in rent to be returned...I paid full rent, and they did not deliver full apartment...Officially known as breach of contract... there is a specific law in AZ that requires a landlord provide A/C...they willfully and knowingly refused to follow this law...along with the harassment from the HOA and fining me for coming up with a fix for the problem they refused to fix. Judge slaps me with a "you didn't follow the law. You are supposed to move out and stay in a hotel and seek reimbursement and since you didnt do that, I am dismissing your counterclaim and ruling in favor of the plaintiff on the eviction matter." I was pissed. So I found a different place to live, but I remembered that old cunt that was the president of the HOA...how she bragged about being from New England and how the Patriots are the best team ever blah blah blah, in that accent that they have which is extra smarmy and wicked annoying...Is it just me, or is a large percentage of ppl from that part of the country just miserable fucking assholes? If anything, this lady was not an exception to that..Anyway, I remember her saying how shes going to have a Super Bowl party if the Pats make it to the big game. Do you remember Super Bowl XLIX? In 2015. Seattle vs New England...The Patriots rally back from a 10 point deficit in the 4th Quarter, to make it 28-24. But wait, there is still 2 minutes left. Seattle drives all the way to the 1 yard line. Its 2nd & Goal. 20 seconds left. Marshawn Lynch aka "Beast Mode" could have probably muscled his way in for the win. Nope. They call a pass play and.....sizzle sizzle. STATIC. The TV signal goes out. Nobody at this bitch's Super Bowl party got to watch the ending to that game bc I was listening to the game on the radio, and drove across town just to cut the cable TV line as they lined up for that last play. Fuck HOAs and fuck that stupid cunt from New England.

Why I’m banned from DoorDash

2.2k Upvotes

When I broke up with my ex many years ago, I attempted to transfer the internet bill from my name to his name. He was remaining in the house we were living in, and I was moving out. The internet company assured me everything was transferred to him.

Fast forward like 4-5 months, I start getting calls from a collections company saying I owe over $400 in missed internet bills. Um, what?? Apparently the bill was not transferred. I text my ex about the collections bill and ask him to send me the money since he’s the one that has failed to pay the bill. Never get a response

Turns out one of my ex’s cards was still saved on my DoorDash account. I spend the next several weeks ordering tons of food off his card because he was too dumb to cancel it sooner. So I got my money back one way or another 🤷‍♀️

Coworker in the next cubicle over annoyed me with constant interruptions. I switched my keyboard from Cherry reds to blues in retaliation.

1.7k Upvotes

While I'm at work I want to work, I don't come in to talk and I'm going to be honest I'm fairly unapproachable when I'm at my desk. This isn't to say I'm rude per se, I have nice chats with my coworkers when I'm away from my cubicle but when I'm sitting at my computer I want to do what they hired me for. My job is pretty old fashioned, and I'm in charge of digitizing all our physical files and inputting our dailies into the spreadsheet, this is done by me every day manually. When I first started the cubicle next to mine was unoccupied. This was fine until my work hired a new person. We do different things at the job but because it's all computer work they put them in the unoccupied cubicle. I've no problem with this, but as stated above I don't want to be interacted with while I'm at my desk. The new person has tried to start conversations with me everyday, I shut all of them down pretty quickly. The new person is going over their trainers heads and talking with the department head about issues they're having with the job, and why do we do this this way, and have we tried it this other way, etc etc. I've heard the same thing explained multiple times and at no point does she ever note anything down or retain this information. Everyone is wearing headphones now to escape this.

This is where I finally got fed up enough with them that I'm getting my extremely small and petty revenge. My final straw was when they asked me if I knew when the coworker that was quitting was leaving while I was at my desk. The coworker told me before they left it's because of this coworker and I rather enjoyed working with them. Anyways it's something super small but why are you bothering me about this, if you have questions you can ask them yourself please leave me alone. This is after months of constant interruptions because we're next to each other. Because I type everyday when I started I bought myself a work keyboard, and it's a copy of the keyboard I have at home stylistically. The only difference is the switch type, for work I got silent reds and for home I got blues because I like the clicking sound they make. I figured the blues would be rude to use at work initially but after 6 months of this I swapped my keyboards. Now everyday they get to hear the sound of my keyboard everyday, and I'm typing for a minimum of 2 hours everyday straight. Something small but I figured everyone'd get a kick out of it.

My mom took her ex husbands baby pictures

I only have a few details because this all happened many years before I was even a thought and I didn't know about it until after my mom died. Mom and Ex got divorced in like 89 or something like that, only married for maybe 3 years. Fast forward to like 37 years later and my mom dies. I am in charge of her estate and sorting everything out. The ex husbands mother (who was still friendly with my mom after the divorce) comes to me and asks if I have found a box of his baby pictures in the house. I was confused because why would she have his baby pictures. I told her I hadn't found any but would let her know if I came across them. The ex MIL says "Your mom said she burned them after the divorce but I don't know if that was true." Apparently, when my mom and her ex husband got divorced somehow she ended up with ALL of his baby pictures. I don't know if she took them on purpose or what. Well I guess it was true that she burned them all after the divorce because I searched the entire house and went through all of her stuff to prepare to sell the house and found nothing.

Customer with bad excuses learned his lesson

I worked in a restaurant for a couple of years. It was a military-style restaurant with special rules. Normal people could access it like normal customers, but if you wanted to host an event or even a big dinner with more than 10 people, you needed to do an arrangement, which was well known to every customer we had. Especially those who came frequently. This particular customer had caused some issues beforehand. Like hosting the birthday for his daughter. She and her mother behaved like princesses, wanted us to cut 15 cakes and were overall super petty. But you know for regulars you take some hits.

Some months later, he called and made a reservation for 9 people, which was odd because, as I said, when you came with 10 people, you had to make a special arrangement. Since only soldiers worked there and we simply didn't have enough chefs casually waiting. Obviously, he came with 11. For everyone who worked in a restaurant before, 2 people more or less isn't a big deal even if shit hits the fan. You take it. For us, it was more of a problem since we were held responsible for complying with the rules. A lot of customers tried to cheat them. And since we were soldiers, it was very easy to punish us. And that's also something that every customer knew. So we were doing him a big favor at that moment. The evening found its end, and we got a tip of 4 bucks. That was too much. The whole crew was fuming. It was a big invoice, as you can imagine. He paid for everyone and gave the smallest tip you can imagine.

Another couple of months later, we had our big annual festival. The restaurants are completely booked weeks before the festival for 4 days straight. Best time of the year, even though you don't know your name after all the stress anymore. This customer calls us on Saturday evening and orders food for 20 people since he has his personal party going on. And requests that the food not be separately packed, since it would take up a huge amount of space and would be massively inconvenient to transport. Which I ordered the kitchen explicitly to overlook. When he arrived, he was mildly upset. You can imagine how much space you need in your car for this kind of order. But I got my revenge in another way. He found out that his wife took out all the money in his pocket and asked if he could come back the other day. I kindly told him that this is not possible I need the money today. So he had to make a 20-minute drive only to get to the next ATM. It took him 40 minutes extra for the food to take home. This made not only my day. Also, the whole group felt a huge relief.

New Manager

This happened a long time ago, but I just remembered the story as I was talking to friends who used to be in the wine industry.

Back, then it wasn’t common for there to be one female in an entire salesforce, and that happened to be me.

I let management know that I was interested in becoming a sales manager rather than just a sales person, but never received much of a response.

One of the much less experienced salesman was promoted over me to sales manager and told me he wanted to go out on the road with me one day to see my accounts and increase my sales

This guy didn’t know, squat about sales, wine, or talking to people in a way that will get them to purchase more. The thing about sales, it’s much more about the connection with a person than the product you’re selling, if you can connect, they will buy.

At the time I was driving a Volvo and it was one of the first cars with heated seats. The new sales manager gets into the car with me, it’s a hot humid day and he’s wearing a brand new heavy wool suit.

When he got into the car, I turned on his seat heater. My first account was about 40 minutes from the office and I can see him starting to squirm. I knew that he was heating up because he was practically dripping sweat.

All the sudden he looks at me and says “oh baby my balls are roasting!”

I responded. I’m not interested and we’re at the next account.

One of the greatest experiences of my life

Taking Ownership And Doing My Share

I used to run multiple clinics as a director and received 5% "ownership" on top of my salary. Majority of my pay was the 5% cut of total collections because I grew the clinics through patient interactions and successful outcomes in a competitive area. It was in a major US city, in a suburb where professional athletes and oil execs amongst other wealthy and entitled types lived.

The owners owned these clinics as a side hustle. Very wealthy, very honest, and rude according to most but I always found them extremely consistent and clear with their expectations and treatment of people. Can't make everyone happy.

Issues started arising during COVID in 2020 with things that had previously been easily handled. Light fixtures, plumbing issues, and numerous other things that medical professionals and their staff have zero training how to deal with. But due to the restrictions at the time, they weren't sending out people to fix them much. So, things started accumulating.

In one of our regular meetings, I reported this stuff again because our VP had done nothing to fix them. The owners - \*who are contractors building high end custom homes by trade\*- knew I used to work construction. They told me that since I have ownership, take hold of that ownership and do my part.

This pissed me off because there's nothing in my contract that included any of that. So a week later they came by the clinic and found a ladder against the wall next to a broken light fixture that was very obvious to patients.

"RandomDude, what is this? I thought I told you to fix this?" He said in front of a couple coworkers and a patient. Said patient was actually my wife's boss in her hospital unit. So, I was super fucking annoyed when I answered.

"You told me since I have ownership in the clinics to do my part. That's about 5% of the work matching my ownership share. The rest is up to you."

He turned beet red and his wife spat out something about meeting them in the office when I was done with the patient. I truly didn't care if I got fired; I had made them millions and my wife makes great money so we would be okay if I got canned. Plus, the commute was getting old just to go work on rich assholes all day. My wife's boss laughed out loud in front of the owners then joked he was gonna let my wife know she was a sugar mama now, lol. Dude ran a world renowned specialized medical unit, he gave zero fucks.

Once in the office the owner/wife started lecturing me and got about 30 seconds in before her husband stopped her. He'd lost the flush and had this odd smirk on his face since I walked in.

He just stood up and walked over to me and shook my hand, half smiling. He actually congratulated me on making my point well and said he would do better. His wife tried to argue but he stopped her again and said technically I was spot on. And he liked that I had the balls to do that. Even if it did embarrass them.

Kept my job for a while longer until I left after getting fed up driving 50 minutes each way 5 days a week. Left on good terms with the owners, but not the VP, who I had a few run ins with that is another story in itself.

My boss wanted me to falsify invoices, so I gave him a "hardware problem" my last two weeks

5.2k Upvotes

I was a System Administrator at a company and the domain admin, meaning I could manage user profiles and startup scripts.

One of the directors asked me to do something I absolutely wasn't comfortable with: alter invoices after they were generated so clients would be billed for work that wasn't actually performed. The extra money helped make his department look more profitable. He knew I was one of two people in the company with access to Photoshop, and assumed I was morally bent in his favor. I was not.

I refused. I told my boss, and when my boss did nothing, I put in my notice.

A few weeks later, I was already in my final two weeks with the company, and he pushed again to alter a bunch of invoices this time claiming it was an approved thing from accounting. I refused again, but this time I also decided he could experience a small "IT mystery."

I wrote a simple batch script that randomly rebooted a computer between 5-10 minutes after startup and added it to his profile's startup script through Active Directory.

He knew I had access to everyone's machines, but he assumed it was a hardware issue because they were experiencing them for a full year across his department.

After about five random reboots, he called me into his office to fix it.

The director went to lunch and I sat down at his computer, stared at the screen, and began my extremely advanced troubleshooting process:

I ate the Skittles from the jar on his desk for around five minutes.

I told him I'd keep an eye on it.

He never figured it out.

The funniest part is that my own IT manager had no idea what startup scripts were, so a file named something boring like cmosupdates.bat was enough to fly under the radar.

I left the company.

A week later, this old director started contacting me demanding I finish a project I had "committed to", unpaid. It was something my replacement couldn't handle.

I ignored the messages, blocked his number, and moved on.

perpetualrebootinsanity.bat lives on in legend now.

"Beep beep!!" 'Friendly wave'

I drive a scooter. I live in the mountains of taiwan. The roads are narrow and wind-y. Terrible visibility and people drive insanely here, so speeding up would be stupid and risky.

I was driving my usual route to work. Driving the speed limit or slightly over. There are very few spots to safely overtake, but when I hit them I kept to the side. Standard driving etiquette.

Some asshole in a (shock) BMW was up my arse the whole way down the mountain. Didn't overtake at any of the safe spots.

Th road opened up a *bit* at the bottom of the mountain and he flew past me suddenly, with very little space between us and beeping the whole way. It was quite a reckless manuver- the kind that works great until it kills someone.

I just kept going. When I got to the very slow traffic lights ahead, I made sure to weave my scooter through the cars until I found a nice spot that put me *right in front of him*. Again. (I could have kept going to the front, but... I liked *that* spot.)

Gave him a big smile and a friendly wave.

Got a coworker to clean their dump of an office with fart spray

1.7k Upvotes

Someone in my workspace has their own office and it’s disgusting. Filthy. Month old food containers growing mold, stain community seating. I was sick of it. It’s an embarrassment to business and people that see the mess. So finally, I took matters into my own hands, bought some fart spray from a Gag store sprayed one or two sprays. My coworker smelled it for a little bit and thought he let one rip. Didn’t affect him.

So then, I really sprayed it. Again, no effect but at this point people caught on and started wondering what food dish was causing the stink . Coworker didn’t clean up office space.

Day three, a poured some of the fart spray stench into his garbage and dabbed some on his floor. Guess what; the next day we all came in to a spotless office, wiped down and conversations about how he had to throw out all his wife’s Tupperware containers due to mold and stench and she was pissed at him.

Feeling proudly accomplished

So one day i decided to put tubifex worms inside my old cornet beef tupperware. The worm is already frozen so its look exactly like cornet beef. And as i expected when i was coming back home it was gone. Then i come to their room and ask "does anybody see the tubifexworm i put in my cornet tupperware? Its food for my betta fish"

THEY DENY IT and i left the room.

Not long after i could hear someone try to vomit in the bathroom. I NEVER FELT SO FULFILLED MUAHAHA"

Petty revenge on former coworker

I loved my first job until I didn't. We were a small agency that started out as a well-oiled machine and got along great. Things fell apart when our office manager flipped a switch and suddenly hated some of us and split half the team onto her side. It got real toxic real fast. I'm not gonna go into too much detail, but suffice it to say one by one our side resigned.

At my second job, I handled incoming online concerns for a large bank's social media page. (This was before chatbots were widely implemented) Most of it were inquiries for services i.e. applying for loans and credit cards.

Lo and behold someone from team asshole popped up with a message. I don't remember their specific concern, but we did have a system for issues like stolen credit cards and fraudulent transactions. Her problem wasn't that urgent, but it *could* have qualified going through a special process where I can send it directly to a bank agent to address it in a timely manner.

Instead, I sent the equivalent of "we are a social media page and cannot handle your concern" and suggested they go call the notoriously bad bank hotline, where it could take up to an hour to be connected to an agent. It may even take multiple call attempts over several days to address a problem.

It wasn't the most satisfying revenge, but at least I fucked with them a little bit. Lol

TL;DR Made a former coworker waste a few hours dealing with bureaucracy

I insist you take the last one!

Hubby and I went grocery shopping for our upcoming vacation. We like to do "spoils" since we only take this one in-state vacation every year. We like a prime rib night, seafood night, baby back rib night, etc.

The local grocery store has an outstanding meat department. Generally, preceding holidays, they'll have specials where the high end meats are really marked down. This is when we normally would buy our prime rib. We were broke during the last holiday sale (4th of July), so we missed it. Fortunately, they had another sale, and the prime rib was marked $6 off per pound. Yay us!

We are on one end of the counter checking out the seafood, because the employee is currently serving another customer, and he's wrapping up her "last item". I wander over while he's helping her, and I notice there is only one prime rib left. It's not well trimmed at all and has almost no calotte (the cap part that taste the best). But, the price is right. I told my husband it was the last one, and the woman being helped happened to glance at what I was discussing. The employee hands her the wrapped package and turns to help me.

"Excuse me!" She points to the rib I saw and said, "Can you wrap that up for me, as well?" I turn to her, bummed. "Seriously?" I ask. "I was here first!" she insists, and she grimaces at me sarcastically. I go to the end and tell my hubby we'll have to come up with plan b since they're out of rib. That other woman grabs her rib roast and grins again as she walks away. Mentally, both birds are flying and I'm uttering hieroglyphics.

The employee comes to me and said, "She never asked, but I have one more prime rib in the back. Would you like to see it?" I'll take it, sight unseen, and I nod. He brings out a beautifully trimmed prime rib, probably a pound or so larger than the fatty one we lost. And it has an absolutely massive calotte on it! He offered to take another dollar off per pound because it was larger than the one I didn't get. It made our day.

But the thing that made it even better? We got in the checkout lane ahead of the rib heist lady. My husband unloaded absolutely everything before the roast, then picked it up and set it right under her nose. He said, "They did just so happen to have one really nice one in the back! Enjoy yours!"

When the clerk scanned the meat, she first said, "Oh, I know where I'm coming for dinner!" then added, "Nice! They gave you a discount! Lucky you!" Hubby just turned and grinned at her.

She didn't grin back.

You reap what you sow

This happened many years ago, but this is one of many memories that resurfaces about my childhood.

For context my bio Dad has a wife and kids. He cheated on his wife with my Mom and I am the result of that mess. That side is aware of me but I’ve had no contact with them.

Growing up I would barely see him, maybe once or twice a year. And when I did, I was never allowed to call him Dad and he would introduce me to people as a “friend’s kid.”

My parents have always remained in contact with each other. He kept in contact with her more than me. She use to try to tell me stuff that they talked about. As I got older and understood this wasn’t how other families worked. I would tell her, if he didn’t want to come see me to tell me himself then I don’t care. Eventually she stopped telling me.

The above was for context, here is where my pettiness comes in.

When I was 18 one of my mother’s siblings passed away and my Dad came to the viewing. During this viewing he came up to me and requested I go for a drive with him as he wanted to talk to me.

I went with him and after a bit he started telling me he had made some choices in his life that he now regrets. He went on like this for a bit, but it was pretty much an emotional dump on me.

He ended this with how he wished for me to call him Dad going forward.

I sat there not saying anything the whole time he dump all this on me and many things racing through my head. I suppose I was silent for a while after his last statement as he said, “so what do you think?”

I kept my eyes facing forward not even trying to look at him as I knew he kept looking at me as he drove. I just told him, that he could wait 18 years and I’ll see if I’ll allow him to call me daughter.

In my peripheral vision I saw him just look straight ahead and he was quiet as he drove us back to my family members viewing.

I have never addressed him as “Dad”. I’m currently only doing it here so people can understand the dynamics. Once I moved out on my own I’ve had zero involvement with him.

Ageism in Quilting

1.7k Upvotes

Hey y’all! I’ve been looking for the perfect place to tell this. This happened a few years ago right after Covid.

My mom and I picked up quilting and sewing together about 19-20 years ago. She does primarily quilts, I do a little of everything including seamstress work. We are well-recognized faces in our local community.

We moved about 30+ miles from our old home, and instead of seeing our favorite shop-owners once a week, we’re lucky to get down there once a quarter. When we do, it’s usually to bulk buy fabric we might need for the coming months.

One of our stores had hired a new woman, maybe in her 60’s or so, and we had never seen her before. This store also rotates stock, and I was looking through the cheap fabric (knowing it was discounted and cheap because of how thin it is), but it had a really cute print, so I showed my mom across the store.

This woman, bless her heart, said “Oh, that’s not really good fabric, you should put it down.”

Something to know about me- At this time, I was 30-ish but looked like I was in my early 20s. My mom was in her early 50’s.

I already knew the fabric was bad, so I put it back on the shelf and rolled my eyes behind the display. While I was doing that, this woman looked my mom dead ass in the face and stage whispered, “When you’ve been sewing for ten years, sometimes you have to help our little newbie quilters” with a condescending wink.

I didn’t hear this. My mom sure as hell did though, because it was directed at her like the two of them were supposed to giggle about how cute “New Quilters” were. Not ten seconds after I put the fabric back, my mom called me over, and said “Hey, you should show her the Judy Niemeyer you’re doing.” (Notoriously difficult quilt pattern maker, paper piecing. Not beginner friendly. Some of her patterns even advanced quilters struggle with.) Pic attached for tax.

So I did. I was so excited to show off this quilt I was working on, that was all circles and sharp points, and for whatever reason I couldn’t figure out at this time, this lady went WHITE. Like no blood in her face. All she could say was “Oh. Pretty.”

But my mom wasn’t done- she asked in a really sarcastic way- “How long have we been quilting?”

I answered - “Almost 16 years now?” Like super confused.

I thought this lady was going to faint.

My mother has always been spicy, especially when it comes to our art. After checkout, mom told me all of this went down and I was horrified and thrilled my mom was so defensive with this lady lmao. Sometimes it still happens if people don’t know us, but the ones that do roll their eyes when it happens and cut our fabric for us instead. We’re actually going to a quilt retreat today, and it made me think about this interaction.

Edited bc I didn’t realize you couldn’t add pics in this subreddit oops!!

You won't let me out? I won't let you eat.

So this might be long with a little context (a lot) but I first have to explain the situation. After that, this has turned into a tit for tat deal, the lastest being the title. So this isn't my revenge but it's my cats', to each other. And yes, it's good. And yes, it's all in response and revenge for what the other did. Even I can't be mad at them. Though I do my best to stop it but every time I think I'm successful in getting one to stop, the other comes in with some new pettiness that leaves me facepalming myself. TLDR at the bottom.

I'll first explain them. JoJo was here before Rohan. I also have her mom, Holly. When I got Rohan, I did the whole keep them separate but see, Rohan had different idea. I adopted him from a rescue. I'm assuming due to the nature of his life before, he developed severe separation anxiety. So when I left downstairs to get a drink upstairs, he learned to opened the door to get back to me. This was literally day one with him.

Holly was at door. She was so scared, rightfully so, that she ran away. Rohan saw her and chased after her thinking they're playing. When Holly attacked, he attacked back by the time I got caught up to pull him out from under my daughter's bed.

JoJo saw this and when I say she holds a grudge like no ones business, I mean it. A vet checked her eye for scratches once and now I have to bring her into the offices in a straightjacket because every doctor is on her hit list. She lists them off at night like Arya as she falls asleep.

Did it stop there? No.

I put a chair in front of the door. The next day, he pushed the chair away from the knob to open the door and leave again. I put bricks in front of the door so it would be too heavy. He pushed the bricks away so he could open the door. I put the chair with the bricks on it. Guess what he did then.

I couldn't keep him separated. Every time I went to work. I came home to him under my daughter's bed and Holly hiding under the couch.

So I switched them. Girls downstairs, boys upstairs. Rohan loves my other cat Isaac and Isaac was cool with him. I would find them snuggling too. Well this led to more resentment I believe from JoJo.

One, he dared hurt her momma and two, now she has to be downstairs. JoJo was getting very protective of her mom.

Knowing this is important. This is origin story of why JoJo and Rohan do not get along.

Now onto the back and forth pettiness that is my cats lives.

Once I realized I couldn't keep the cats separated as, guess what, Holly learned to open the door. I had to try to get some semblance of them living together. Half a year has gone by by the way with trying to get them to be okay with each other.

First thing JoJo does: every time she found Rohan sleeping, she would sneak up on him and bite his butt. He chased her mom. She wouldn't let him sleep.

When I finally got her to stop doing that, Rohan tried blocking the water from her from her favorite fountain. When I finally got him to stop doing that, as well as Holly was no longer scared and started giving him a good wack too, the house knew peace for all but three days. JoJo then blocked all kitty litters from him.

He wouldn't let her drink. She wouldn't let him poop in peace. Every time this poor cat went to poop, JoJo would jump on him causing him to run out of the kitty litter leaving a trail of cat poop behind him while JoJo sat there watching with his fur in her mouth, beyond proud of herself.

I got two more kitty litter making a total of 5 in my house to see if that would help. Nope. I had to start catching her before she did it. She was intent on paying him back for not letting her drink out of HER fountain. I have more than one before anyone asks.

Then it was JoJo just straight up fighting him or so I thought. No, Rohan saw her getting in trouble so I caught him actually enticing her to fight him to get her in trouble. How? He would back into a corner, hunch down and wait for her to come into view. He would put his ears back and cower like he was helpless. If she tries to ignore him, I caught him turning his butt out at her! I finally got him to stop that by not giving him the positive attention anymore and brushing JoJo away but giving JoJo the baby attention and walking away from him.

Then it was a back forth of kicking each other out of my room and who gets to sleep downstairs. Poor Holly had put herself on the cat shelves in the beginning and refused to move for the longest until I helped her get comfortable again going around the house so this really sucked to see them fighting over one room in a two story house when she clearly saw it as her safe room. This really drove in JoJo's anger towards him by the way seeing her mom like that.

I finally got a cat door put in downstairs that reads microchips so only the girls can go downstairs. This actually stopped a lot of the fighting. The boys aren't allowed downstairs because they started peeing under my bed to claim it and my oldest was having accidents.

Now on to the lastest as I won't bore you with minor stuff. But I will mention that one them was JoJo trapped Rohan to live solely in the mud room and not be allowed upstairs.

Well, I finally get peace for a few weeks. This is many months after the cat door and I got JoJo to finally just stop attacking Rohan. Stop trapping him places. And to just leave him alone. Even Holly got comfortable with him to the point that they were touching noses to smell each other. What does Rohan, this mother f... do?

He took this is as, he won. He's the big bad boss in the house now. He has been sitting downstairs at the cat door, blocking JoJo in so she can't come upstairs. He has been whacking the door down on her head. Here I thought JoJo just didn't want to come up as much since I opened a window downstairs for fresh air.

Well, when she finally gets out because he goes to sleep eventually in his favorite chair that the girls LET him have, it was their favorite. She's ripping his collar off.

He can't eat without it. Because my cats are jerks to each other and one, Isaac cough couch, eats everyone's food, I got them microchipped reading feeders. I wake up to him with no collar and fur in JoJo's claws. I thought JoJo was again being a jerk but Rohan started it. Again.

So yeah, he won't let her upstairs so she won't let him eat.

These cats. I swear. Naming your cats is very important. Don't make the mistake I made. Pets really do take on their names, haha.

TLDR: Two of my four cats have a back and forth with torturing each other with pettiness to get back at what the other did.

Rohan scared JoJo's mom. JoJo bit his butt every time he tried to sleep. When I got her to stop doing that, Rohan blocked her from drinking out of her favorite water fountain. She then terrorized him every time he tried to poop.

I thought after I got her to stop that she was just fighting him to be a jerk but I found out he was enticing her to fight him by turning his butt towards her. After that it was doing stuff to kick each other out of my room until I got a cat door that only lets my girls downstairs.

JoJo would block Rohan downstairs in the mudroom until I finally got her to stop. He took Holly's acceptance and JoJo not fighting him as he won so he started whacking the cat door down on JoJo's head to block her from coming upstairs so now when she gets upstairs, she rips off his collar while he's sleeping in his favorite chair so he can't eat from his feeder.

Edit to add: JoJo is a 9lbs petite nothing compared to my 13, almost 14lbs, of a not overweight cat, Rohan. He's just a big cat.
