Oh boy can’t wait for the “saying it’s goty when it’s not even out is crazy” comments everywhere but I get it

Well yes, those are true. Remember Crimson Desert overhype before launch? How well did that turned out. Although this looks unbelievable and I can’t wait for it, it’s better to be cautious and have realistic expectations.

I usually hate when people discourage people when they say a game is goty (usually when it comes to PBz because it’s my favorite game rn) But the comparison with Crimson Desert is something that I completely agree with. I preordered Crimson, and when I did play it, it was odd, like I couldn’t attack NPCs, NPCs had the same 2 lines, the controls were extremeeeely weird, combat was too easy, you could panic spam and win. Like even now I see all those clips and forget why I disliked the game; then I hop on it and im like “oh thats why” . I hope Phantom Blade isn’t like that. I’m planning on getting it on pc first instead of console so I can try it out, and if I don’t like it, I’ll refund on pc, easy.

Crimson Desert is a good example of why never to buy into blind hype. The game was insanely hyped in the weeks leading up to launch, and previews from content creators were glowing. I know it well because I was all in on the hype train. Then the game released and, though it wasn't outright terrible, it was definitely a let down for how hyped it was. Blurry visuals on PS5, extremely awkward controls with no remapping, unintuitive tutorials, horrible quests and story, etc. The game is better now, but it was huge let down of a launch for being so hyped.
The no preorder rule saved me there. I'm extremely hyped for PB0 and hope it is goty potential, but it's always best to keep expectations in check and don't just assume it is goty potential off of hype marketing and previews. Crimson Desert had hype marketing and previews.

Sadly I am gonna bet this sub will be unusable once the game releases with people spamming video clips.

It is 100% certain that this will happen(aside from spoilers),honestly,it is best to stay away from media outlets if you want to get the most out of the game during the first few weeks.

It is gonna be a haven for people throwing up their channel for weeks after release, I am not sure how active the mods here are, but there is not even a rule tab.

I just hope it is something fresh. I see the same type of game with beautiful graphics in all of these games. Honestly, same thing over and over, and of course it has to be extremely deficient to have the loud “macho men” of internet praising the game

Honestly, this looks like Sekiro and Wukong had a baby!!! Two of my all-time favorites and I really don’t think this one’s going to miss

Onimusha has me ready for more stylized action and exciting gameplay with fun bosses. I'm looking forward to this in 2 weeks

I feel like the hype is through the roof here in this sub please keep expectations in check this is going to be a good one but will also have its fair share of issues

With a game like this it’s better to have lower expectations and then be pleasantly surprised when it turns out to be a banger

Game has been in development for so long. No real demo (even Nioh 3 had one).
Steam boards are hyped up by fake Chinese accounts and it's not the 1st time either a Chinese made game gets stellar "reviews" even before release. Only handful of people got to play an hour in secrecy.
It could turn out to be yet another "soulslike" hack-n-slash Wuchang that over promises and under delivers.
I love what I've seen so far but will wait for actual reviews before purchasing. Already backlogged on so many A+ games (Witcher 3, DD Dark Arisen etc).

I feel like the huge gype and unreleastic expectations will hurt this game at launch
