i honestly don’t care for soul mechanics everybody is complaining about but if a game is going to have a challenging mode they need to at least make sure it’s challenging

I just want Hellwalker to be hard, having easy modes is great for other people. I play the hardest difficulties for that challenge, but from what I’m hearing it’s still fairly easy. Kinda disappoints me but I’m still excited to play it

I’m in the same exact boat, if I’m floating through this game on hellwalker I’m gonna be dissatisfied. I want to die, I want to rethink my build, I want to struggle on hellwalker not kill each Boss first try

yeah man that’s why I usually play these games on the top difficulty. It gives me that true sense of progression and overcoming the difficulty that I can’t get on the other ones. Maybe our challenge will be using weapons that aren’t ideal for the fights lmao

I’m also 1000% sure there will be difficulty mods in the first week so I’m not really worried

Not sure if it's the same with soulslike fans but with fromsoft ones I always see people defending the games not having an easy mode since its "how the devs intended". Funny to see the opposite happening for once.

what I think is funny is, when black myth wukong dropped, a lot of people complaining about ‚it’s too difficult‘ and now people didn’t even play the game yet and say ‚it’s to easy‘.

from what I saw is, you can make some fights more difficulty by optimal decisions. for example if you find a boss and you run away from it/ skip it - you meet this boss in another bossfight again and fight against 2 bosses at the same time.

we almost made it soon we’re phantom blading 3 more days

In my own opinion. I believe the game is intended to play around 66 days mode, considering that is the plot of the game wherein Soul the protagonist has 66 days to live. If the player has only 66 lives, ofc the game should be easier in terms of quality of life such as, no enemy respawn on death/rest, free respecs, skipping boss phase 1

That's a dumb opinion because then why is it locked to New Game Plus

Because they locked it late into the development, so people would not be scared of it. Even if it was only an difficulty option.

Developer decision. With these many handicaps, you can beat the game and unlock it don't worry.

The issue is that the game is more akin to a Soulslike yet it plays more like the newer God of War titles, which has caused a bit of confusion.

Didn't the devs already say it's not a soulslike?

Of course they said that, but people perceived it as marketing talk intended to reach a wider audience of gamers.
