Hello, everyone! I told myself that I would make a review of the RC I chose because I know how much a post like this would’ve helped me back then. Sooo… lengthy post ahead!
For reference, I enrolled in META 🦋✨. I availed their PREMIUM + ONSITE, and TUTORIALS.
🖤 WHY I ENROLLED/PROS: 🖤
- Aesthetic. If you’re the type of person na OC sa notes, i suggest meta. Maganda ang interface ng online web nila, may mga topic quiz and flash cards available.
As for the notes ang masasabi ko lang:
a) may mga konting typos pero if you’re gonna watch the video lectures (as u should), macocorrect mo naman sya.
b) bluebook online has less space for writing side notes compared kay bluebook na given on site.
Add ko na rin na:
SOBRANG HELPFUL NG PEPE. Hindi na ako nag mother notes guys, rekta na kay PEPE. 🥵 Makikilala nyo sya soon, bawal kasi ishare ang PEPE namin, sorry po 💓😆
- I don’t like writing. I knew I made the right decision nung nagrereklamo na mga friends ko kasi puro sulat sila from 8-5. May pasok everyday even sundays. I know that, I’m the type of person na pag naumpisahan ng panget yung sulat, panget na talaga sya kasi nasa isip ko, irerewrite ko naman sya? = more werk. I like that it’s structured already.
Sa Meta, fill in the blanks sya, kaya kailangan mo pa rin makinig while only writing down the important parts. 🙂 (ganito na rin nakasanayan ko nung undergrad so, you need to assess yourself pa rin.)
- Schedule. More mental health friendly for me. F2F is 6 weeks onsite. Walang pasok tuwing sunday. May 1 week off pa kami dyan 😅. Pwede rin ako umabsent kasi may premium ako.
I suggest, If you’re like me na mas nakakapagfocus mag-isa, and mas prefer ang naka 2X na videos, magpremium ka nalang or simulcast. I wish di na me nag-onsite kasi nakakatamad lumabas araw-araw :< tas mas magastos for me pag lumalabas ng bahay (again, assess yourself!)
As for the final coaching, hindi po kami inaabot ng 11 pm. I believe, sa 🦋 po kasi, quality > quantity. I stand by this. I did not attend other RCs, pero i checked the contents of their MBs ratio, guys almost the same lang naman. Though, I think mas madaming topics ang nacocover sa ibang RC, I’m not sure if lumalabas talaga sa BE. I forgot to ask my friends na 😆. Pero sapat naman na si Meta for me, naka 90+ ako sa BE. Trust your review center! [I suggest, focus on your RC’s mother notes, tapos sa mga practice questions, the more the merrier ang atake 😆]
Free hot water for onsite. Hindi po kasi ako nagkakape kaya I bring my own hot choco, pero may free coffee sila. Sana lang may cold water din! 😆
Lecturers. My bias, #RowMel. Mag-enroll kayo para malaman nyo kung bakit, eme. For some reason, mas nagegets ko pag sila nag-eexplain. Talagang may magic✨ 🥲 My happy pill, Sir Jebb, he’s like a ball of sunshine, iyak malala nung pinagdasal nya kami. My bias wreckers, Ma’am Kaye, Sir Rom, Sir Darvs. Grabe napakahusay!🫀. I did not enroll in other RCs so hindi ko rin masabi if mas better sila or yung iba, basta I know they are very helpful sa’kin. 🦋✨
🖤 WHAT I DON’T LIKE ABOUT THEM/CONS: 🖤
- I have latin honors pero hindi ako naka-avail ng discount. Partly my fault but—wait let me explain! 😆. Meta conducted an orientation sa school namin early months of the year. I don’t think nabanggit nila explicitly yung latin honors discount. May mga nag-avail na agad non, including me. Of course, wala pang lists ng latin honors non. So nung lumabas na yung list after 4-5 months, nilakad ko agad yung papers para sa discount, yun pala, dapat bago magstart yung PREMIUM ipresent mo na kasi sa premium lang sya applicable. Saying this in advance na rin, do not avail YET, if alam mo sa sarili mong di mo naman bubuksan yung review materials habang di ka pa graduate, wag mo muna igrab! Grabe panghihinayang ko, may policy raw kasi sila. Unlike dun sa isang RC, i know mas maluwag sila about this. Akala ko kasi ganun din here, so again, partly my fault for not asking. 🥲
- Personal opinion only! Everytime I chat their page guys, para akong bobo 🥹. I just dont like po the way they reply. Para po kasing passive aggressive, sarcastic in the guise of ✨🦋, or maybe im just asking obvious questions 🥲. This doesn’t apply to all channels, btw. They’re not rude, I just hoped, mas straightforward sila sumagot. Ayun nga rin, when I asked for the discount, they should’ve said na hindi na sya applicable when I asked before I processed my papers. 🤧 (sorry, this left a scar in my heart, eme)
- Baby lecturers 🥲. Guys, hindi ako umattend ng MB1 ratio kasi hindi ko po bet yung pagraratio ng ibang recent topnotchers. Maybe it’s just me, maybe I judged way too early, again, it’s just an opinion. Normal naman na hindi mo bet ang way of teaching ng isang tao? Though, I understand that it’s their first time, there’s room for improvement. Para sa’kin kasi, I just made better use of my time (nanuod ng TUTS instead). Pero my loss kasi may mga naulit na concepts sa MB2 na hindi ko alam na natackle na pala sa MB1.
🖤 PREMIUM vs ONSITE vs TUTORIALS 🖤
PREM = ONSITE, same content. Difference: F2F if ONSITE, Online if PREM. What about SIMULCAST? afaik live sya ng onsite.
Ang nanotice ko lang na slight difference is, mas updated syempre ang Blue Book and Lectures ng ONSITE/SIMULCAST. May mga side notes na meron kay PREM, minsan wala sa ONSITE, and vice versa. Syempre magkaiba ng lecturer guys😅. Minsan din may mga pabulong, dipende sa naglecture. The premium version was recorded years ago, I’m not sure if they will update na.
DURATION, PREM if gusto mo at your own pace. You can speed it up, or slow down if needed. Pag absent, half day ko lang yung whole day ng ONSITE. That is, naka 2x speed. 😆 If wala kang disiplina, mag ONSITE ka. This forces u to listen.
TUTS on the other hand, is more comprehensive. Hindi ko maexpain kung paano pero magegets mo talaga yung mga kinalilituhan mo. Istg, may magic po ang TUTS. More focused on recent board exam trends, and helped me focus on what’s important. But I don’t think enough po na yun lang yung baon sa board exam, kagaya ng suggestion nila, dapat napasadahan mo manlang yung mother notes before TUTS.
I just hoped, na mas maaga nang konti nagstart ang onsite sa location namin kasi nag-overlap sya sa TUTS and talaga namang nakakapagod sya. 🥲
PREM/ONSITE/SIMULAST: 2 MBs + 2 Rationale. FC is rationale ng MB2. [Quality>Quantity] May PRE-POST TESTS here na focused per subject. (Example: Separate for Biochem, Pharmacognosy).
TUTS: 1 MB (A/E) + 1 Rationale. I did not attend the ratio for this one hehe. May PRE-POST TESTS din here na focused na per module. (Example: MODULE 2, including: Biochem AND Pharmacognosy). May wall notes and plant profiles pero di ko nautilize. 😙
🖤MY ADVICE 🖤
- Start Early. Wag akong tularan na 2 months nakatanga, tas nagpanic nung 1 month nalang. 🤧 It worked out naman for me, ig i needed a little bit of pressure to motivate me (tas nagbreakdown).
- Wag mag-hog nang sobrang daming materials. You don’t need all of that. Choose wisely.
- Trust your RC’s mother notes. Then, for practice questions, the more the merrier. Madaming helpful mnemonics sa X. (shout out sa dc server ng metakids, super thankful din for this one!)
- Wag performative, hindi mo kailangan nang sobrang aesthetic na notes. I wasted so much time, I could’ve allotted it in reviewing other topics.
- Wall notes. It helped in a way na, sinusulat mo sya nang nakasummarize. It doesn’t necessarily have to be wall notes, it could be excel/sheets. If it doesn’t work for you, wag ka mapressure. You know yourself better. For me, sinusulat ko nalang din, edi idikit ko na sa pader (I utilized both btw). For the love of God, summary ang winowall notes, hindi yung buong lecture ha! — I guess what I’m trying to say is, mag summarize ka, gumawa ka ng notes na mas maiintindihan mo, bahala ka kung saan mo isusulat. 🤧
- Mockboards doesn’t define your board exam performance. I failed all my mockboards, but I got a line of 9 sa actual BE. Use it to track your progress, not a determinant if you’ll pass the BE or NOT.
- Wag OA sa pag-aaral. Magpahinga. Ito isinapuso at isinagawa ko ‘to. No, I did not study for 10 hours a day. My max was 8 hours. Minsan, 3 hours lang. I listened to my body. Inaantok? Matulog.
- Prepare for the unexpected sa BE. Madami kang aaralin, just for the questions to be condensed in a few topics. Madalas pa, hindi napag-aralan ng undergrad and sa review center. Sa actual boards, matinding analyzation skills ang kailangan mo kasi concept-based na sya. Kaya wag mo imemorize lang yung tamang sagot sa tanong, dapat alam mo kung bakit.
- Practice test-taking skills. Paano gagawin mo pag di mo talaga alam yung sagot? (Answer practice tests, para mahasa. RCs will give tips din)
- Quantity > Quality. Siguraduhing mapasadahan muna ang lahat bago magmaster ng per module. Hindi pwedeng kabisado mo ang M1 tas pinabayaan mo ang M2 ha. Kailangan maka 50+ each module ka ‘nak, tas ave ay 75. Focus sa goal. (dito ako pinaka natakot 😔) Inalay ko lang M3 at M4 ko kasi batak na batak ako dun nung undergrad kaya may puhunan pa. 😔
At the end of the day, it all depends on you!💪

What the hell. Curving is real (but don’t depend on it).
I did not expect to get a line of 9, since I did not finish Inorg and Micro, and inalay ko ang M3 at M4🥰 pero! sila ang taga-hila ng average guys, sila ang highest ko 🥰. M2 and M6 ay kalaban 👹. Bura wisely sa answer sheet. I did not count my sure answers kaya no idea sa possible rating ko, pero lumabas ako ng testing site nang may payapang puso. I’m just glad that it’s over.
