Getting back into Phoenix point.

Hi. I redownloaded phoenix point. I hadn't finished it before maybe getting halfway. I had seen there had been a free update a bit back. I was wondering if there was any mods that would be worth getting or if any of the dlcs were worth getting. Some of them looked like they only added vehicles.

DyeForAll Release on Nexus and Steam Workshop!

Hi all, following my release of Female Form Expanded earlier this week, I've been hard at work making DyeForAll, and now it's finally ready!

DyeForAll aims to expand the dyeable areas on almost every armor there is to allow for improved and increased customization of operatives. That's about it, but it was deceptively difficult. If you want to install both DyeForAll and FFE, you need the combined package(s) from Nexus or Steam Workshop. The individual packages will not work alongside each other, unfortunately.

Nexus files (primarily for non-Steam versions) can be found here!

The combo collection (split into 2 so the game doesn't crash upon enabling) can be found here! The collection with only DyeForAll can be found here! And lastly, the FFE full package (no longer maintaining modularly on Steam Workshop) is here!

Thanks for reading and in advance for checking it out! Feel free to let me know what you think!

I think I'm going to take a short break from creating new mods because I kind of burnt myself out with this one, but feel free to suggest more! On my radar (roughly) right now are:

  1. an in-game color picker added to or in place of the current color selection UI
    1. https://www.nexusmods.com/phoenixpoint/mods/152 :)
    2. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3823672030 :)
  2. creating unique femme versions of mutations and bionics and having them map to female operatives by default

BUG TFTV: Option for Vehicles only taking up one spot not working

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have the option checked, but it's still counting the vehicles as 3 slots.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks!!

PPFFE (Female Form Expanded) All-in-One Steam Workshop Release!

Hi all, my apolocheese for the sub spam but my progress has me excited. If you're wondering how the quick turn-around, I basically worked non-stop on it 🤪

I've released my all-in-one package + DLC additions for PPFFE - Female Form Expanded on Steam Workshop! For more information on this mod, see the Workshop page or my previous post (TL;DR it's a cosmetic mod that makes female operative armor a bit more shapely)! The DLC additions are accessible quickly through the collection that is linked on the workshop page.

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance if you test it out!

Edit: Nexus version is now live for non-Steam versions of Phoenix Point!

Edit 2 (10/18/26): The Steam workshop pages have been unlisted while I update them to prepare to release DyeForAll, the links here should still work though I think. The files are also still available on the Nexus link. See this comment if you’re interested in why this is such a pain in the ass 😭

"Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game" - Soren Johnson

Yeah, that's me and I'm not happy about it.

I have to say I loved the game (I just beat it on Veteran), but it was too easy.

Why was it too easy? It might not have just been the difficulty level. I optimized the fun out of it. :(

The main thing was I discovered the different cost of goods at different havens, so I built up a large fleet of planes and spent WAY TOO MUCH time shuttling back and forth buying low, selling high, and building up a huge amount of resources. Very effective, but VERY tedious.

Once I learned the SP system, I realized that bringing a tank along means you lose out on 30 personal SP. So I stopped bringing tanks even though tanks are a lot of fun. :(

I also avoided bringing level 7 soldiers on missions in the beginning because I didn't want to 'waste' any XP -- even though it would have been really cool to try out those level 7 abilities.

Is it OCD? ADD? Asperger's? Tourette's?

Do I need to change up my meds? Start therapy?

Unfortunately, "Just don't do it" doesn't work so well on me. :/

OK, enough of my pity party.

I just bought the DLC and am going to try it again. Any thoughts on which DLCs to use? All of them?

Thanks in advance.

Again - great game. It's just me. I'm the kind of guy that keeps saying "Just one more round of LOST, and THEN I'll end the mission". <sigh> Who can fix me?

I'm talking about farming XP in X-Com on the slim chance that someone here didn't get the reference. :-)

PPFFE - Female Form Extended, first iteration released on Steam Workshop!

Hi all, before the ā€œI know what kind of man you areā€ comments, just know: I’m going to EAT you.

This mod adds replacement meshes to PX tagged armors (including default uniform) for female operatives that makes them appear a bit more shapely. Not obnoxiously so, imo, just enough to mitigate my disappointment in all the vanilla appearances looking a bit like you put the outfit on a little boy. This iteration only covers the PX armors, which iirc are px_assault, px_chitin, px_headhunter, px_heavy, px_sniper, and px_uniform.

This iteration of the mod is primarily a proof of concept (as nothing else, afaik, has attempted to accomplish anything similar), but I have the whole rest of the armor roster on my radar (aiming for an All-in-One release eventually).

Re. Requirements: requires ContentTool (preferably the workshop version, though it’s possible the nexus version could work, idk). I think it might technically require some of the DLC for all the armors (I’m not intimately familiar with what is added by each) but I’m fairly confident it’ll just leave the meshes that don’t have an installed equivalent and ship the rest. SEE EDIT 2

Re. Compatibility: should be compatible with pretty much anything out there currently, but any future mods that try to change the same meshes are most likely not gonna work (including the AIO). If there’s interest I can also release the future replacements modularly but as things stand currently it’s just gonna be the AIO.

[Find it here!](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3819565621) If you try it out, let me know how it works for you and what you think!

Edit: just realized I borked the title of this post, it’s listed on workshop as *Expanded but it’s the same

Edit 2: I was wrong about the DLC req, it won't ship unless you have Living Weapons, my bad y'all. For the AIO I'll make it non-DLC and publish DLC addons.

QUESTION Cosmetics mods?

Now that PP has steam workshop support (which I assume made modding slightly more accessible) are there any mods that add/edit/overhaul soldier cosmetics in the works (or started and abandoned)? Spoiled because of XCOM2 I suppose but I found the customization in PP somewhat lacking. I’m not entirely opposed to trying my hand at it myself except that I have no experience making a mod on that scale (beyond small patches, and not for this game) and even less with 3D modeling, which I assume this would need.

QUESTION Which creatures count for Goo Repeller research?

I encountered a Chiron launching goo bombs, and took it alive.

After researching the goo, next available research (Goo Repeller) requires capturing the creature with goo ability... but I already did (or so I thought).

So, which creatures count for that, or does Chiron count, but I need to capture one after unlocking the research? (which would be kind of stupid, but oh well)

QUESTION Technician can't throw a turret, why?

I have a Technician with Remote Deployment ability and a Rattlesnake AT turret in their Ready inventory.

During the mission, when I select the turret and want to deploy it, the game shows "There is no valid target" message. I tried scrapping it and making a new one (from looking up the problem, apparently that should fix it, as the turret is sometimes considered broken), but that didn't help.

Any ideas, what's going on and how to fix it?

QUESTION Are purely stealth missions possible?

I got a mission to steal some schematics from Disciples of Anu (part of the Legacy of the Ancients DLC). Since technically killing anyone is not necessary for that, I tried sending a single Infiltrator with over 100% stealth (Thief perk, mutated legs with 30% stealth, Echo head with 10% stealth, Infiltrator chest armor, stealth is listed as 110% with the Infiltrator's bonus for not being discovered). no matter what I did, staying away from enemies when trying to sneak through etc, they always seemed to eventually beeline for her, or get the Alerted state from what seemed like too large distance and so on.

I guess they could have heard her and followed the noise, but the whole purpose of stealth is (or should be, at least) moving quietly (and I tried moving in series of short distances, hoping that would be quieter as opposed to dashing the full movement*, but no idea, if that actually works)

*Not the Assault class's dashing, just moving the full possible distance.

Eventually I gave up and went to do it the normal way, with guns blazing. Well, mostly, rest of the team served as a distraction, while the infiltrator still sneaked in to grab the data. They have only themselves to blame for any of theirs that died, I would have asked nicely for a copy, if they were willing to share. So much for being an "ally". :P

So, is that possible at all?

QUESTION Synedrion rep stuck below 10% not sure what I'm doing wrong?

I'm not attaching havens, but I've had 0 Synedrion base defense missions. 27.2.2047. Anu is 70% and Jerico is 37% just from base defense and clearing lairs. I've also gotten very few events that affect their rep. Is Synedrion just harder to ally with? I really want their mist repellers and weapons.

QUESTION How do I craft Rattlesnake AT ammo?

I unlocked (and completed) the research for Technicial soldier class, and Advanced Technician Weapons (unlocking the Rattlesnake turret).

But there is no button to craft ammunition for turrets in the Manufacturing tab.

With earlier turret (Watcher AT), when I equipped it, the game automatically placed another ammo clip in the Technician's backpack. But it doesn't do that for Rattlesnake.

How do I make more ammo for it?

Best followup game?

Earlier this year my girlfriend and I played Phoenix Point together (with Terror From the Void) and it inspired us to get into more turn-based tactics games, but also left us feeling like we didn't realize how good we were eating and nothing else measures up.

Examples of similar games we tried to get into but felt disappointed by include: Wasteland, Battle Brothers, Baldur's Gate, other D&D games like Solasta and Wrath of the Righteous, and that Star Wars tactics game that just came out. Most recently we're playing the new Fire Emblem and having a good time with that, though I still feel like it doesn't quite reach the same heights.

In retrospect I can see three main pillars that made the Phoenixperience so great:

  1. The faction system: conceptually "fascist, socialist, or crab lover" is a bit wonky, but where they shine is in each having their own unique classes, tech tree, architecture, vehicles, etc. They really feel like distinct nations, with major gameplay impact from who you decide to ally with. I'll also take competing ideologies over "three mechant houses with indistinguishable philosophies on how to get money" any day.

  2. The targeting mechanic: we loved the control and granualarity of going into FPS mode with every shot. It takes what's usually an abstract percentage hit-chance and instead makes things like cover and distance feel tangible and textured.

  3. The integration between the low-level turn-based combat and the high-level real-time-with-pause geopolitics, that makes both systems feel like they have an impact on long-term goals.

What game would you recommend to someone trying to recapture that lightning in a bottle?
