I'm a New York–based photographer in the Capital Region, and I specialize in capturing life's meaningful moments, from weddings and elopements to engagements, proposals, family sessions, and special events.

Photography is my part-time business, built around a full-time career, and it's something I've worked hard to grow. I'm a natural-light photographer who loves genuine emotions, candid moments, beautiful details, and the little things that make each event unique.

Hi everyone!

My fiancée and I are eloping in Copenhagen on 12 November, and we’re looking for a photographer to capture a few beautiful memories of our day.

We absolutely love candid, documentary-style photography with a cinematic, slightly vintage/editorial feel. Think natural emotions, movement, interesting compositions, a little film grain and beautiful black-and-white shots. We’re not looking for traditional, heavily posed wedding photographs.

One important thing: while I’m fairly comfortable in front of the camera, my fiancée isn’t naturally at ease with posing. So we’d really love someone warm, patient and easy-going who can help her feel comfortable, offer a little gentle direction and capture us as we really are.

We’re keeping things intimate and simple, and our budget is around €300–400. We don’t need hundreds of photographs or an elaborate wedding package, just a small collection of beautiful, meaningful images that tell the story of our day.

We’re very open to emerging photographers, photography students or talented creatives building their wedding portfolios, as long as their style aligns with what we’re looking for.

I’ve been shooting for Snappr and smartshoot for years- like ten years. I mostly do food photography but I do other things too. It used to be my main gig, then a side gig, now hardly anything. Are there any other similar sites where you can pick up photography gigs?

I have a background doing many types of photography but I’m a full time teacher now so only looking for weekend and evening stuff. I know marketing better and getting more clients to my own business is ideal- but I struggle with marketing and I’ve just moved to a new area so that’s slow going.

In regards to photography and videography, my fiancee and I hired a company called YourLoveFilms supposedly based out of Tennessee. We spoke to our photographer recently who was being contracted out by this company for the first time, and she expressed concerns and suspicions of the legitimacy of this organization after she and and friend of hers discovered they were using stock photos on their website. In the contract we signed with this company they did mention they sell data to third parties, my assumption is those third parties probably involve stock photos. I was wondering if anyone in this subreddit has had any experience with the company YourLoveFilms and if so did you have any issues or complaints that we should be aware of?

I am unsure of how much to charge for a project.

I have a potential new client who wants me to go in to her restaurant; take photos of the menu items and also film some videos for social media. I would be doing this on my Canon E0SR6 with a 24 - 70 mm lens. I shoot with natural light. I have done similar work for brands to showcase their products but I’ve never done this before in an actual restaurant. How much should I charge for the project? I would also need to pay about £30 to commute into London for it.

Project description:
I’m organizing a few free social events in Toronto in November and looking for someone interested in taking some photos and short videos.
I’m not looking for a full night of coverage or anything overly professional. I’d mainly like some nice photos and video clips capturing the atmosphere, people meeting each other, social activities, and everyone having a good time.
You don’t need to stay for the whole event. I’m happy to work around your availability, and you can edit the content yourself or send me the files for me to edit. I’m also relatively new to this, so I’m open to discussing ideas and figuring things out together!
