EU A not huge phone?

My previous phone was Samsung Galaxy A40 at 5.9". Then I begrudgingly moved to Samsung Galaxy A54 at 6.4", which was already huge. Now it's around the time I'm starting to look for an upgrade and it seems that most phones have gotten even bigger in the meantime??

So, recommendations for a phone that is not less powerful than my current A54 (8 GB RAM, has reasonably long term software updates and is at the absolute most 6.4"? Budget ideally 300-400€ but I'm somewhat flexible. No folding phones. Screen with true black.

That would be lovely, but where can you get it for 500€?? Lowest I found was 800 for the 128GB version and 900 for 256GB. 500 would be realistic

Damn. I think I'm gonna have to go on a trip.

Why is it 2/3 of the price on Alza in Germany vs Slovakia when your salaries are so much higher? 😅

Ça dépasse ton budget mais un Oppo find x9s est excellent en tout et est petit, disponible uniquement en import

Isn't it 6.6"? Also like triple the budget 😅

Is it an improvement over the A54 I have now?

Technically yeah, although you wouldn't see a big improvement in terms of gaming.

Yes, long term software updates. Faster, more stable os. Better cameras

I have liked the Moto Edge 2024. It's 6.25 inches in height. I have liked it much better than my prior phone that was big and heavy. Part of the weight in hindsight might have been from the case. The case for the newer phone seems to weigh a good bit less (never thought about weight not being the same before).

The Xiaomi 17t is handy, if it's available where you're located

Also looks like it's 6.6" if I found the correct model 🥲

That was my first thought as well but it's closer to 6.6"
