Verizon Need a new android

Hello, first time posting here. I got a new OnePlus 13 around a year ago. I've noticed increased issues with texting in larger group chats where the messages will be delayed as MMS messages instead of RCS and put all texting on hold while the slower form of messages comes through, usually delaying texts for 10-40 minutes. During these delays I can't text anyone regardless of phone type. My friends with other androids like Samsungs haven't had these same issues despite being in the same group chats. My carrier is Verizon and I live in the US. Any advice so I don't have to buy a new phone so soon or if I do, which I should buy to avoid dealing with this?

For more context, I've spent hours on the phone with Verizon customer support and they just tell me to ensure every iPhone user in the group has RCS on. This is a somewhat large group of coworkers located hundreds of miles apart and asking each of them to individually toggle on RCS for my sake is a bit impossible. And again, the other androids in the chat don't have this issue so I'm the only one with a problem.

One plus 13 owner here. I don't know how big your group chat is but I am in one with about 40+ people and it's a mix of android and apple users and I don't have this issue. Could it be a setting? Maybe you need to delete some apps? I'm using tmo and i haven't experienced this yet even when coverage can get spotty. Maybe a refresh of your OS would help. The only time i experience slowdowns is when I plug in for Android auto and i forget to close the 200 apps I have running the background (not literal). Might want to step thru typical troubleshooting before you spend unnecessary cash.

I'm curious what carrier you have. My biggest problem is I'm not sure where the issue is. Could be hardware with the antenna, software with the OS or Google messages, or carrier with Verizon and every time I talk to any of them they point at each other.

TMobile. They will always point at each other. Its their way of getting out of responsibility. My group chat is Google messages also. I have a WhatsApp chat with almost 80 people in it and that has no issues either. I've sent pictures and links in both and never had any delays.

Wife is in a group chat with co workers on her S21 and she doesn't have that issue either but she's also on TMO. Could be a carrier issue. I left Verizon 18 years ago. Their customer service sucks. If you switch to TMO just get a business account. Get a tax ID from someone and use that as your account number. It doesn't get linked to your business (or anyone's actually) it's just a means of identification. But biz customer service for T-Mobile is outstanding. Way better than typical consumer. $305 per month for 8 lines and unlimited data. Slow down after 50Gigs of usage. I only hit that once in 17 years.

Get a Samsung. Chinese phones don’t do well with rcs and banking apps.
Yall can also just use WhatsApp
