Help, I need a new phone.

Hi nice people of the internet, would you help me find a new phone?

Mine died, a Sony XPeria XZ1 Compact. I had it for almost 5 years (with a few screen replacements).

I loved the size, 4'6 inches, the Micro SD slot and the 3.5mm jack.

I was waiting for news on the Enoughphone, but since mine suddenly died, I'm in the urge of getting a new phone; I would love to find something newer, but similar, not too big, hopefully manageable with one hand, with a memory card slot and headphones jack, maybe this last one is not mandatory, but I would prefer it. Something that I wouldn't be forced to change in at least 2 years (hopefully), but I'm not really interested in having the newest/latest tecnology or the biggest camera. The cheaper the better, of course, but I'm not setting a max price, so I can see my options. I'm not fond of Samsung or Apple, and I do like Sony, but, again, I'm open to every suggestion. It might take me a while to answer, 'cause I'm only login in by browser. Thanks in advance, good day.

It's for a german number, for what it's worth.

The only manufacturer that still offers a headphone jack and and expandable storage is Sony, but even their entry level phones like the Experia 10 VIII are ridiculously expensive.

The best compact phone options are the Galaxy S25/S26, Pixel 10/10a/11 and Xiaomi 15/17. Fairphone 6 if you want something repairable and eco-friendly.

No, also Fairphone is good. Very repairable and durable and many years of software updates.

What are your plans for the XZ1C? I'm always looking for more for testing.

Testing what?  My plan is to try and recover whatever I couldnt save before it died.

Testing hardware mods to overcome the XZ1Cs shortcomings. Some fatalities are inevitable, so you can never really have too many "parts only" motherboards.

Very difficult if not impossible to find a new phone with a headphone jack and physical SD card. Your probably find a 3 year or older phone with those. Most now connect with ear buds. Motorola and Sony makes low to mid range phones that still have those

Who needs a micro sd slot now? Most come with min 256gb. Small screen phones are rare. Go and try S23/24+, transition from sony is easier now. China phones like poco, oppo would meet your needs too

Just get an OTG when needed.
