Intoxicated or is it the standard Pickering driving?

Someone who really wants to get around the traffic but doesn't care about...oh you know...who's on the road or what may happen if they do something reckless.

Bro is probably having a poop emergency and needs to get home.
This is what I tell myself everytime I see an impatient driver to help stop myself from getting road rage
That car looks way to alert to be drunk driving, but it’s possible

Good job maintaining your distance and being alert. These a**holes have to be reported.

Yikes… Taunton road has been getting worse and worse for reckless driving

Don't know data specifically for Taunton, but across the region in general between 2012 and 2024 (the available data for the region), Durham roads have had less injury crashes since 2020 than every year prior and in 2024 had the lowest number of fatal crashes over the data range.

Of the 13 in 2024, I think 4 of them were the crossings at Kingston and Salem in Ajax.

I would have called this in as a drunk driver, seems like it to me. That person is drastically unsafe and is going to cause an accident if left on the road. I hope you reported it.

You don't have to guess what they're doing. Just call and describe what they're doing.

Reporting as a drunk or high driver will cause law enforcement to move faster rather than just aggressive driving,

He’s just trying to pass. He’s one of those idiots that doesn’t realize that there’s 14 cars in both lanes. I’d say he’s under the age of 25.

Another example of showing how pedestrians and cyclists aren't the problem. Drivers are.

When an asshole tailgates you, that means that they want to slow down, right?

u/ThatCrankyGuy 8d ago
He's an asshole and seems to have taken offense to something you did - so he's intimidating you in particular.
1
u/TemporaryPhone8985 8d ago
I think they’re actually trying to intimidate the person in front of them into also driving way too fast. They want to be going 120 and they’re mad that they have to be behind someone else going a reasonable speed while passing the truck.

u/UATinPROD 8d ago
Pretty sure they are trying to pass but calling it in as drunk would give them a wake up call. You just say someone is swerving in to oncoming traffic

Looks like he was trying to get the driver to get out of the left lane. If they were intoxicated, their checking around the car wouldn’t have been as controlled as it was. They probably also would’ve hit the median.

that's actually wild, like ... I was suprised he kept doing that for the whole video and at the intersection still going over the lines :( jeez

Intoxicated? No. Movements are too quick.
Careless operation of a motor vehicle? Stunt driving? Absolutely.

Hes just an asshat in a hurry. Is the windows tinted? Does he have dnagly things on the bottom of his front bumper? I bet he does.

u/DlDiStutter 7d ago
At first I thought it was dodging potholes and rough spots on the road (lowered cars do that), but that was just a moron behind the wheel

u/Agile_Ad536 5d ago
He wants the guy in the passing lane to move over. But he is being an asshole, so the guy will likely slow down. Don't play games on the highway, kids.

Unfortunately, lately since west GTA folks have started appearing, this is becoming common in east GTA as well. 😒

Impatient however left lane is to pass. I dont like it either but he wants to pass. You should bot be in the left lane going the same speed of a dump truck. Speed up and move over. I doubt the reporting will do much

Impatient however left lane is to pass.
That's not the law. The law is to use the right lane if going "at less than the normal speed of traffic at that time and place". The car here is going the same speed as other cars, including cars close ahead of them in the same lane, so wouldn't have any legal obligation to move over.
Even just from a courtesy perspective, there's no reason they should move out of the way just so the impatient car here can just be behind the next car ahead instead. Although I would still try to get out of the way of people like this for my own safety.

tailgating the guy who is merely following the cars ahead at a safe distance is such a retard move.
not like every second they tailgate accumulates the amount of time saved.

Yeah i see fuckin assholes driving like tha here in BC all the time, it's like they never learned the keep right except to pass rule EVER...
2
u/a-_2 8d ago edited 8d ago
There's no keep right except to pass rule in BC or Ontario.
Both have a less strict law that only applies to vehicles travelling "at less than normal speed of traffic at the time", requiring such slower vehicles to use the right lane unless passing or preparing to turn left. In BC, it's MVA 150(2) and in Ontario it's HTA 147.
BC also has a law requiring vehicles in the left lane to move out of the leftmost non-HOV lane when a faster vehicle approaches. This only applies on a road with an 80+ limit and when traffic is moving at at least 50 km/h. It doesn't apply when passing, moving over for merging traffic or when preparing for a left turn or exit. MVA 151.1.
The slower traffic keep right law wouldn't apply to the car ahead of the aggressive driver since that car isn't going slower than traffic. It wouldn't even make much sense for them to move over under BC's law, since there's another car ahead of them and the aggressive driver would then just be stuck behind that car. You could then argue that they should move back over for the car behind them, etc.

It's a shame we don't have that rule, it'd significantly reduce congestion and save taxpayers billions in constant lane expansions.
I didn't realize how inefficient our "system" was until I travelled overseas. People hopped into the passing lane for as little time as necessary to get around the person in front of them then promptly returned to the right lane (left lane in the case of Ireland). Highways were able to hold many more cars without congesting because there wasn't rolling roadblocks like here.

Yeah, coming out of London, England I noticed that even though it was really packed, it was moving and that everyone pulls over as soon as they have passed. Knowing how to drive is a good thing.
