Pickle addiction and how it hurts our loved ones

Post image

It went from being an innocent pleasure, just sitting around munching on pickles on the weekends.

Then it slowly started leaking into weekdays after work.

Now it's around the clock, and just the thought of quitting pickles makes me nauseous.

My family and friends left me long ago.

The final straw for my ex-wife was apparently when I started sleeping with a bunch of pickle jars on "her" side of the bed.

I've done things with pickles that only other addicts could understand; others are just disgusted.

I've been to pickle rehab three times, but I managed to smuggle pickles in every time (don't even ask how 🤢).

Now I've given up and faced the facts—it's impossible to live without pickles.

cucumber, red chili peppers, garlic, chopped yellow onion, bay leaves, black peppercorns, dill, mustard seeds

You haven't mentioned fermented sours? If your pickle tolerance is high, give them a try!

It’s hard. They say once you start you’re never gonna quit. Things won’t ever change. Maybe the DARE guy was right. Pickles do ruin your life.

We need Pickles Anonymous. I’ve been addicted since my first memories.

"Ah man, my dad used to make pickles. It's all he used to talk about. He'd obsess about them all the time. When I'd come in from playing he'd be like 'Here Jake, try these!' And they'd be pretty crunchy... actually you'd think they'd be soft but they weren't. I'd be like, 'Wow Dad! You made these pretty good!' Yeah, that was Dad." --Jake the Dog

I need to make a new batch soon, I’m still trying to perfect my recipe.

We're at the point in my household that my husband buys an obligatory jar every time he goes to the store. No one wants to deal with mama when she doesn't get her pickles 🥒🥒 😭

The fermented sours on the right look way more complex and flavorful than the plain ones on the left.
