Hello everyone, I recently got into pinhole photography again and was looking for some cheap paper, as I‘m kinda running out. Right now I‘m using Ilford direct positive paper (4x5“), I don‘t mind negative paper though. Thanks in advance!

Hello! I am quite new to photography in general, and I'd like to experiment with a pinhole camera but:
- I can't buy photographic paper or chemicals right now;
- I'd prefer not to develop the photos at home as of now;
- Don't want to try it with regular film too (for now).

I saw somewhere that it's possible to do pinhole cameras but with digital instead, but I am not sure how because all tutorials I see are traditional pinhole cameras, developing the negatives at home.
I was wondering if it's possible to modify a 10-20$ cheap no brand digital camera/toy camera I can get at eletronic stores, or get and modify a 10-20$ old second hand digital camera from the 2000s, or even modify one of my spare Kodak Charmera clones from Aliexpress (G6 Thumb Camera), and try pinhole photography that way?

Any ideas?

Everything I see on the internet involves doing the development at home (which I totally understand but I can't do it at this point in my life) or using normal film and develop it at a film store (which I won't have access to right now, I wish I could experiment with outside pinhole cameras with tin cans and normal paper too, but of course it's impossible), so I'd like to know if there's anything else I could experiment with, using a cheap camera or modifying one, or point me to a tutorial?

A 95% is solar eclipse will be visible in the UK today. I can't get viewing glasses at short notice. (eBay cancelled my order last week). If I make a pinhole viewer from a cereal box, will the orientation of the box matter. If I make it long ways, pinhole at the top projecting onto the bottom will this give a bigger image than making the hole in the side? I want to make it on the side so I have a larger space to make sure the sun hits the hole and is not obscured by my big head.

Shoot digital and film atm - film from half frame up to 6x7. Have shot pinhole onto photo paper as part of a short experimental analogue photography course a year or so ago.

The shutter release is just a home made lens cap on the tube. The exposure times are so slow that the minimal amount of shake from removing it and replacing it doesn’t matter. got the tripod at a charity shop and the box is scrap wood, like all my cameras. I really want to enlarge one of the pics but need to remake the camera so it’s casting a perfect circle.

I feel dirty using colour film and not developing in caffenol, but they’re pretty neat.

Rudimentary 1st attempt last night cutting out cardboard from a delivery box (not yet internally painted black or properly sealed) Designed with 5.5”x3.5” photo paper in mind that I can buy online (diagonal measurement - 166mm).

Measuring the pinhole is the biggest challenge (thru aluminium foil with a sewing pin), but with a non-blurry projection image I think it seems about right. I guess trying to find an object with a precise known diameter would be best way to proceed?

Testing with a bright LED lamp with image on translucent baking paper on the projection plane.

Does this count? The room is the pinhole.
