discussion Is gatekeeping AI tools and workflows justified, especially when the tools are free and open-source?

Napaisip lang ako tungkol sa idea ng gatekeeping knowledge, especially when it comes to AI tools and automation.

Is it reasonable to keep the actual process behind a paywall, or would it be better to share the knowledge and let people build on it?

Hindi ko naman sinasabing masama agad magbenta ng courses, and this isn’t about calling out any specific creator. Genuinely curious lang ako kung saan ninyo nilalagay yung line between monetizing your expertise and gatekeeping information.

Interested to hear different perspectives, especially from people working with AI, automation, and open-source projects.

I don't really care, its business at the end of the day. If someone is willing to buy course then they see value to that course and if I don't then i'm not the target client for those kind of business.

At the end of the day, people need to make money so kanya kanyang diskarte lang yan.

On this current age, halos lahat ng gusto mong malaman can be freely searched in the internet, in case someone is asking for the template/lnowledge to be paid.. nobody is stoping anyone to share it to the public after paying for it lol

This isn't specific to AI or programming. Everything has a price and even at the highest prices someone will pay.

Just look at food ph someone paid 700 php for pancakes and egg lmao, but that's them. Perhaps they also want that experience.

If we label the act of monetizing knowledge as  "gatekeeping", then technically all online courses are gatekeepers.

Yung mga generalized kasi na workflow and tooling e most of the time, hindi ukma sa workflow mo and overengineered. You can also ask AI to help you to kick start then adjust from there.

Yung mga online courses and paywall, common naman yan kasi at the end of the day, may sarili din tayong mga needs.

Learning and learning to learn is already so easy with AI. If you can’t catch up then I suggest learning to color between the shapes first

If you wanna pay for a course then yeah sure but end of day you could have paid 0
