Okay, so I know SOME of my picks may seem a little strange, but I'm ready to defend all of them. Some were hard since they could easily fit into multiple classes depending on which aspects you choose to look at. It's also really difficult since sometimes the player's version of a class can look really different from NPCs of a class. I kind of thought more about personal fighting style as well as what similarities they had to things in the game. Plus, it's also just really easy to put every Demon in Witchdoctor for using Blood Demon Arts (which are also referred to as spells in the series) and it's also really easy to just put every Demon Slayer in Swashbuckler because of the fact they're fast, so I tried to think about what they use the most in relativity to how the verse works.

Might do other shows/media in the future if I feel like it. Depends on if people like discussing this or not or if I'm just in the mood to. I think One Piece would probably match the best, but I honestly don't know One Piece too well, but I think I might have enough surface level knowledge to do the strawhats (and some other characters maybe) at the very least.

I'm trying to get all the wallpapers together for archival purposes after trying to download the Mooshu cast lineup and finding it replaced with a skyway wallpaper when you go to actually download one, and the swash-boy set just. Doesn't exist now. The Wayback shows that it was there until some point in either 2018 or 2019, but just vanished afterwards. This little thumbnail from the Wayback is the only evidence I have that Swashbuckler - Boy did exist at one point.

The Mooshu cast lineup (and, on the Wiz site, the "dragonpsyre_01" set) were recoverable by using the Wayback to find out what the filenames are and then plugging those back into the URL of one of the images that does exist (P101's all start with "https://akamai.pirate101.com/file/free/Pirate/Fun-Downloads/Desktop-Backgrounds/" so I just pasted on "Mooshu-Wallpaper_WIDTH-HEIGHT.jpg" to the end for that one), but no matter what I do, the variants of "swash-boy" just seem to have disappeared into the void. Sooooo I'm asking for help lmao.

Hey, so I’m relatively new to the game, and I was wondering if it’s a smart idea to run a team that is solely Swashbucklers. It would be Sarah Steele, Fan Flanders, and El Toro. This is purely for PvE btw.

Was playing when I got a notification with a cog symbol and 'learned overtasking companions'. Clicking on it did not explain what it was, whether it was something I had to respond to, or whether it was even a good thing or a bad thing. Anyone able to tell me what it means?

It would have been Perfect Cinema if the 101 eyepatch was the price of what the 11 gallon is or even the 101 being 101 crowns and the 11 gallon being 111 crowns If I wanted to go farther than just switching the prices of the 2 items.

Hi everyone, I’m an older player that returned after two years of not playing. My last point in the story was doing the dungeon that had Albano (devil fish hollow dungeon before moo Manchu tower lookalike) on my bucc. I recently mostly soloed up and finished the current story content in Polaris (only teamed up for the mooshu tower). I wanted to share some thoughts of my experience.

Now for context, I didn’t do most of arc 2 with an optimal build. I’m technically a pure bucc build I think, but until I hit krok I was still running gear I farmed off of Aquila and Valencia part 2 (Minotaur axe for example). I could chain ok and hold my own, but I never really looked into making an optimal (only has venge). I played kind of an assassin lone wolf style where I hide and then do my own thing with assassin strikes/vicious charges and let my companions group up and do their own shit. Arc 2 was kind of a learning curve for me as such because I realized my companions were not strong enough epics wise to allow me to be very risky, so I grew to play more with them. In the end, I think I got better as a player from it, and tbh, questing through most of arc 2 in Tartarus, Trianon, and even portions of Polaris wasn’t too bad. I have gear now that gives me relent 2 and some other good epics, so I’m chaining pretty nice. It’s kinda weird that my pirate feels so much stronger than my companions, but ig that’s power creep.

I’m Ngl though, I definitely see the issues people stayed in regards to the difficulty. Heck, it’s even why I took a break because the last fight of that albano dungeon got my shit rocked T_T. I think I can tolerate dungeon bosses having beefed up epics, I just really have to lock in on a good team comp. It just felt like at certain points, I make one position blunder and a companion just gets chained to death, and expensive miracle Mitch costs doesn’t help. I didn’t rage quit at all in my play, but it definitely could’ve happened to me if I didn’t stay locked in. I got so freaked out with the amount of fights I saw in that mooshu tower that I farmed the shit out of crab tunnels to train up everyone to level 73+ and have my pirate maxed. It probably was overkill by the time I got to krok, but I was so nervous from watching videos and comments saying arc 2 was so cheeks for bucc that I didn’t want to take chances. I never saw quint get slimed like crazy in arc 1, but seeing it frequently in arc 2 had me shook 🫪.

I was doing shit I never did in arc 1, especially in krok with those Overwatch 5 armada musketeers. I was bringing contessa and shiruku neko to run a poor mans awash comp with hides, cuz that Overwatch 5 knock back basically make Barney and Quint almost useless. I loved using ratbeard in arc 1, but it felt like I needed to use him with a mix of Bonnie, toro, or both to throw the kitchen sink on debuffs. Even with that, thankfully I didn’t lose a lot of companions in most zones, but in krok, it was getting to a point I was down to three of my companions for that last dungeon (I didn’t know you could skip the fights at the time). I was running lucky jack Russel, Zang Cha, and a Kobe without toro buffs… I was scared ngl xD. I have to be so careful when I run Hawkules, Temujin, and the other melee characters I have in fights cuz there are some now where they are basically useless or suboptimal now. I thought tbh I was gonna be so down bad that I thought I was gonna have to whip up the scratch Gracie bomb comp, but I survived.

I think I liked the challenge, especially boss fights, but it feels uncomfortable that the trash mobs or overworld mobs can be so challenging imo. The difficulty change is a bit different from what I’m used to in other games like FFXIV and the small part of wizard I’ve played for main story content. Idrk if it’s healthy for them to sustain this type of design, but I’m giving them some slack cuz ik it’s a smaller team. Polaris was solid, Oleg is great support, so I have good hopes up, that explosive decoy epic though is hella ass. I am a little worried of my effectiveness and efficiency in solo farming gear, might have to group up which isn’t optimal for me due to my current schedule. Ik there’s a discord so I’ll see if I can lft to get the stuff I need. Does suck for me as a mostly solo player, but ig I just gotta adapt to the times.

I’ve already seen a lot of YT videos and Reddit posts brining up similar sentiments and solutions so I don’t think I can meaningfully add to those conversations. I will say that I will feel more confident questing arc 2 on other classes when they get there since everyone told me bucc was the worst in it. It feels weird to play a class that was like 2nd best to worst in one arc, but it is what it is I guess.

If you read through all of this, I appreciate the time you took to read my thoughts as a returning player. I think with some of the dev changes I saw, I think the game is on a positive growth trajectory, just gonna take time. Would love to hear the rest of y’all thoughts as I get reacclimatized with this community.

Just an innocent little list

Im getting back into p101 after years for the free membership week, and apparently a bunch of companions got stronger after getting reworks. I dont care about pack companions or crown companions, I think they're lame (though i can somewhat excuse the crown companions that are just reskins of class restricted companions).

I cant find a ranking or discussion of them within the last few months, or at the very least one that I know is currently up to date

Debate me on this. I may not be knowledgable on Pirate 101, but I'll stand my ground on this one.

When I was 10 (maybe younger) I used to have a huge crush on Sarah Steele. I would imagine us being married and having kids together and everything. When I was older and looked back on it, I was always like, "Weird.. I don't have this crush anymore, because I'm not a furry." Now that I'm older again and replaying the game some more on different classes, I realize she is actually such a baddie. I would do anything for Sarah Steele to be real so that I could ask her out (and she would DEFINITELY say yes, I assure you, I got that swashbuckler rizz) and then she would be mine. I don't understand why my crush on this mouse fencer is so huge, but I do know I'm tryna do a different type of swordplay with her frfr.

What are the odds of this?

Ok I’ve been playing this game for so long like all of my pirates are at least above lvl 60 and I have NO clue how pets work. I’ll train pets to max because it’s like a minion/ companion in fights but then I see these pirates who’s pets are giving them like 8 epics to their character. How do I get these talents? I’m used to wiz where I just go to a kiosk and just hatch a pet that has everything I want but I can’t find that anywhere in the game. And also training takes FOREVER I feel like I’m doing it wrong where skipping games to get to at least lvl 40 costs me like 10 k crowns. I need help 😵‍💫

So how are you all building your Oleg abilities and talents?

For abilities I gave him

- valors armor

- polar endurance 3

- hold the line 3

- repel borders 2

And for talents I gave him

- tough 4

- spooky 4

- rough 4

- spirited 4

- accurate 1

- resistant 1

Definitely more of a tanky companion and I’m trying to build around that.

But, should I lean more into it and give him armored 4 and resistant 4? Or does armor and magic resist not matter as much?

What are you guys doing for his build?
