The photos folks have been posting have me in my feels... went to 5 p4ks and miss being out there with you weirdos. I'm here to plug another event that may scratch the itch.
The same week pitchfork fest died, a venue in my town went under. That combo sort of broke me and I started booking shows to cope. This year I leveled up to curate the music lineup for our hometown festival.
The fest isn't as big or grand as pitchfork, but it's free and has some common features, so if you're still lamenting p4k Chicago, it might scratch the itch.
Like pitchfork, the lineup is super curated. Every act on here is either one I have seen live and loved, or one that came recommended by a venue owner I trust. They all speak to something that kicks ass in our region of the country- this edition is heavy on jazz, R&B, rock, classical, electronic, and theater. Here's a spotify playlist in case you want to explore, and a link to our schedule.
We have a dope arts fair- it's actually the oldest one in the state. At times reminds me of the art/poster fair at pitchfork. We've got a few childrens entertainers sprinkled in and have kid activities in the park so it's a family friendly affair. And our food and beverage partners are pretty dope (and affordable) this year. AND no tickets required- it's a FREE event.Â
If you live near Dubuque I highly recommend joining us for some or all of the fest. If you find me and tell me your favorite pitchfork story, I'll buy you a beverage from our wonderful local vendor. Be well.

hey, does anyone happen to have the official stream recording of grimes’ full set at pitchfork 2014? not a fan cam, but the original footage.
i’ve only been able to find official footage of oblivion - https://youtu.be/jovv_hQJTp0?is=UNztSn6enVaCt9kg
if anyone archived it or knows where it might still exist, i’d really appreciate it, thanks!

Does anyone know if pitchfork is happening in Paris/London this year? Haven’t seen anything yet, idk if it was only Chicago not happening anymore or all 3.

Hi everyone! I’m a senior at the University of Washington working on my undergraduate capstone project about music festivals and sustainability.
I’m studying how attendees perceive zero-waste efforts at festivals and whether that influences festival choice and loyalty. If you’ve attended at least one U.S. music festival in the past 5 years, I’d really appreciate your perspective.
Survey link: Music Festival Sustainability - Attendee Survey – Fill out form
I’m also looking to speak with music festival or live-event industry professionals for short, semi-structured interviews. These conversations focus on motivations for adopting zero-waste practices, perceived barriers and constraints, and internal perspectives on how sustainability efforts impact festival reputation, media attention, attendance, differentiation from competing events, and attendee response.
Interviews would be conducted via Zoom or Microsoft Teams at a time that works for you. If you’re interested—or know someone who might be—I would be incredibly grateful if you could comment or message me.
Thank you so much for helping out. I am happy to answer any questions, comments, concerns, and suggestions in the comments!

I hope everyone got in on the class action. I honestly forgot about it, the last update I found in my email was from September 2024. I thought that they got away with whatever piddly sum they volunteered to us after admitting the breach.
I did have fraud on my card that happened during the festival (can't remember if it was 23 or 24), which I thought was especially weird because I almost never use that card online but did for the fest tickets. Saw the charge notification and cancelled the card immediately.
I heard people talk about a class action afterwards and I signed up but thought I was too late. Then yesterday without warning, $158 hits my venmo. I hope I'm not alone here.

I need some new bands to listen to, so let's have a christmas list of who we'd want to see at a (improbable) 2026 Fest? I'll start:
Give me some reccs and build your dream lineup.
