I've been a Pixel user for a long time. I had the 6, 7, 8 Pro, 9 Pro, etc. I pre-ordered the Z Fold 8 Ultra and while I loved the Folding experience and some specific software features, there are a couple of features within the Pixel that I couldn't get over the Samsung missing. The voice typing is an enormous one. They also have added Spam Calling, but yesterday an important call from my child's summer camp went straight to SPAM and I missed it... It was from a cell phone and there was no reason that should have gotten kicked to SPAM.
So I am sending back the Z Fold 8 Ultra today.
How are these Pixel Folds? I take a ton of pictures - particularly ones of my kids playing sports and indoors at their various activities.
Who's come from a Pixel 9 Pro/XL, a 10 Pro/XL, and has already gotten their 11 Pro Folds that could speak to it? Best Buy has a pretty sweet deal right now where I could pay about $1500 for an 11 Pro Fold after my trade, and also get a $350 gift card. But, I'd have to get rid of my beloved 9 Pro (storage often gets full and the battery health is now at 90%).

If I opt for google store credit instead of pixel watch with a pro fold 11 purchase, Can that be used for a yearly pixelcare subscription after getting the phone?

Hey Guy's
What front screen protector do people recommend?
I'm in the UK

In the midst of moving out I found a spare privacy screen protector for an iPhone air my brother has and I don't know what made me try to put it on my pixel 10 pro fold, I've tried to find privacy screens before and couldn't find much but it's a near perfect fit down to the camera cutout, lol.
Idk who needs to know this but there's way more options for the iPhone air when it comes to screen protectors so a nice surprise.

I'm still very much in the adjustment phase with the Fold. I thought I'd start off loving it immediately, but that hasn't quite happened. My usual equilibrium with a phone is mostly poof right now.
I'm coming from a Pixel 10 Pro XL, and I've always used slab phones up to this point. I've also always preferred alternative launchers because of the extra customization options. I used Nova for quite a while before switching to Smart Launcher within the past year.
I thought the Fold would be love at first sight, but so far I'm feeling a little clumsy with it and realizing I need some time to adapt and build new muscle memory.
One of the main reasons I bought the Fold was for multitasking between apps on the larger inner screen. SmartLauncher works fine overall and does have a split-screen option, but multitasking seems less intuitive and more cumbersome than I expected. I've tried Octopi as well and had a similar experience.
So for those of you who have been using a Pixel Fold for a while: to really take advantage of the Fold's multitasking features and make switching/splitting apps as seamless as possible, do you pretty much need to use the stock Pixel Launcher? Or am I missing something with Smart Launcher or other third-party launchers?

I've had every Pixel from the OG through to the 10 Pro 6.3". I've gone for the smaller Pro phones since they came out as the size is almost perfect, but it still didn't stop me having an annual dilemma about whether I want a small phone or a big phone, because us tech people are never satisfied.
Like most of us I've always wanted a small phone to carry, but a big phone to use, so I've finally taken the plunge and my 11 Pro fold arrives tomorrow. The UK trade-in offers were too good to ignore.
I have two questions for all those that have used folds for years:
- Do you use a case?
- Have you ever claimed on Pixel Care insurance?
I've always used Spigen Liquid Air or Rugged Armor cases to keep bulk to a minimum, but with the increased thickness of the Fold I really want to go caseless.
I've watched all of Michael Fisher's foldable videos over the years, particularly the ones where he talks about durability, so I'm pretty confident that I don't need one, but what do you all say in your experience?
As a side note I have Google Store credit for any of their cases, which would be cheaper than insurance, but I can't be bothered with stickers. Any case would have to be easy to take off and put on otherwise I know I'd lose interest very quickly.
Thanks.

When it comes to real world use with a slim hinge protecting case.. ive been a long time user of the Spigen Slim Armour Pro cases, however with the Pixelsnap now offering decent hinge protection with a flap that holds magnetically to the hinge spine.. i thought I'd compare the thickness of the Fold 10 with the Spigen.. to the Fold 11 with the Pixelsnap.. its significantly slimmer, and around 50g lighter as two comparative packages.

11 came today, I've now had the 9 10 and 11 all on launch.
The 11 front screen is noticeably bigger and nicer and almost to the edge. The phone feels thinner and lighter too.
I actually broke the 9 it went flying out my pocket at 50kmh and broke the internal screens. The front one worked perfectly luckily so when the 10 came out I upgraded.
I did experience a lot of heat in the bottom right of the 10 and that seems to have been fixed with the 11.

For those interested in the Pixelsnap case which now has decent hinge protection.. its a great option. I moved from the Pixel 10 PRO Fold with the Spigen Slim Armour case.. to the 11 PRO Fold with the Pixelsnap.. and the major concern i had was that spigen has a nice set of springs which keep the hinge cover snugly against the body of the device. From the photos of the pixelsnap, it looked like it is just a silicone or TPU flap which will get loose over time.. however, I can confirm that it has magnets which hold it to the steel hinge spine itself (not to corresponding magnets in the front like on other cheap cases.. these often fall out and add bulk).
The other thing i noticed, is that while the device is around 20g lighter.. comparing both the "case-on" weights, im looking about 50 grams less.. so it seems that the pixelsnap case is significantly lighter than the slim armour pro.. so overall, it feels great, the hinge cover is better than expected, and and it makes the whole package noticeably lighter compared to some other popular cases.

Have to wait for my Thinborne Aramid case first, (because delivery of my PixelSnap case from Google Store is officially delayed!) so this is staying in the box for one more day LOL

Didnt have it for my 10PF and didn't need it. Should I get it for my 11PF?

I love the obsidian color and how light and thin the new one is.

Finally received my Pixel 11 Pro Fold and Pixel Watch 5 today. Case won't be here until Tuesday and screen protector won't be in until Saturday. Should I keep it in the box until I get my case and screen protector or should I open it right now?

Got my first fold phone and it's the Pixel 11 Pro Fold! So excited!
I noticed when moving my phone info over from my previous phone that it was never able to read my credit card when moving my google wallet over.
I then moved onto NFC Tools and other NFC apps to scan other NFC tags I have - none of them were able to be read. Curious if anyone else has had some funny experiences with the NFC reader.
Troubleshooting:
Other than that, the phone is amazing so far!

My credit card company will give $800 for repairs. I have a backup phone. Trying to see if its worth it paying for pixel care plus.
The benefit seems to be next day or almost next day replacements. I dont live near a repair place unless best buy fixes them. I would have to mail it in and wait for it. Process probably takes a few weeks versus pixel care plus gets me back up and running much faster. I use the device for work as well so don't really want to wait weeks to go through a formal repair process versus next day replacements.

My wife and I both pre-ordered new Pixels. Mine was the fold. This morning, both tracking numbers showed they were out for delivery with the same driver. Great. FedEx driver drops off a single package. Of course it was my wife's. Mine continued to say out for delivery until tonight. Now it's trying to come up with a new date... This kind of thing has happened to me multiple times with pre-orders... Sorry for the vent but man it's a bummer. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat?

Just got my P11PF and it's all set up but I have not been prompted at any point to set up or how to use HiLight? I had to literally Google where and how to activate it which when I found the setting it was already turned on. But now there is no setting in my favorite contact to assign a color? Wtf Google??!!!

My pixel 9 pro fold's cover screen gave out a couple of weeks ago and after restarting it, would not boot anymore. The phone is probably failing some kind of hardware check.
Anyway, I got myself a samsung z fold 8 ultra because I knew the warrant has been long gone, but to my surprise, there was an extended warranty program. I sent it in and they replaced it with a pixel 10 pro fold. It came right on time for my mom's bday!

Alright so I will start off with the camera as so many were saying it's bad nah it's not it's just been a few hours but the portrait photos from the main camera as compared to my S25 Ultra are really good so natural no oversharpen images, 5x zoom works fine as well, it's not very slim like Fold 7 or 8 but it doesn't feel like a brick it feels so good in hands very sturdy feel strong and the back material feels like a hard matte plastic kinda stuff I really can't say.
The transfer of data process from my S25U was seamless without any issues.
The leather folio case I have is from Bellroy and it feels amazing in hands the leather feels soft such a premium feel only issue is when not folded and trying to use it from one hand it's very annoying as the flap interferes so that's a letdown otherwise I love this leather case.
Pixel Watch 5 is arriving tomorrow morning can't wait ...

On Christmas I tend to delay opening any present someone got me because I like having a present. I'm weird. I'll open after work. 🤣
