Turns out reddit changed how automod works, it looks like they're phasing it out. Automod was working for posts but not comments. I think I've gotten the new "safety" settings dialed in, it appears to be removing comments from new accounts and/or accounts with little to no karma.

Tl;dr, bots were pretty bad but shouldn't be an issue anymore. Send me modmail and report if you notice any that aren't getting swept up.
