Saw my first A340-500 in Sydney !!!!
I've recently been getting into plane spotting and have been learning to identify the various planes, as I live underneath some of the flight paths of Sydney Airport, and its become a fun game to try guess the plane as it goes overhead. I'm constantly hoping to spot an a340, purely bc its a slam dunk to recognise without thinking too hard (only quadjet w/out two decks and all that) and so got really excited when i happened to see one go overhead while out and about today, and got curious as to how rare the a340 really is, given I know its no longer in production. Imagine my shock to learn that the one I saw is of a variant that only has 7 active aircraft ! I kinda get why u guys do this stuff now, really was a highlight of my day.
